Ezekiel had been happily minding his own business walking along the dirt path of Route 101 that connected Littleroot to Oldale Town, the weather was serene with the sun shining bright and a slight breeze brushing along the male young adult's face, what could possibly go wrong?
Oh how quickly the tide could change. A singular Starly flying above that must have strayed from its flock had conveniently decided that they were going to excrete mid-flight. The feces landed on Ezekiel's left shoulder and disgustingly spread out over his nice pristine fur jacket, Oldale was still a fine trek away from his current position on Route 101, carrying a feces stained jacket to the closest dry cleaning service was now atop his list of priorities.
Zeke's facial expression told anyone watching the event unfold all they needed to know, he visibly looked irritated by the unfortunate turn of events. Ezekiel took off his nice warm jacket and the weather was much more noticeable, the seemingly nice breeze had started to become more vigorous and cold. Ezekiel now in an irritated mood cursed under his breath to himself

Returning from the Professor's lab with his air-mailed belongings, he set out at a brisk pace down route 101 with nothing but frustration. Couldn't he send it farther along? It was a major setback, to have come so far and now have to walk the rest of the way back. Seriously, didn't they have FedEx in Hoenn? Or something? He sighed, continuing along, when he noticed a Starly flying ahead. Cute.
Then he looked and saw something spill from its hindside. Oh God, don't let the wind bring it to me. He followed it down to the ground until it hit someone he'd failed to notice up until now, walking farther ahead of him. Yikes. Some of the most rotten luck he'd seen all day, it made him a little more cheery that it wasn't him, at least. He jogged up to see how bad it'd been.
"Hey, I'm Dmitri." He was normally forgetful of greetings, but this time he knew enough to get those aside early on. Presenting a warm smile, he offered the lad a chance to replace it and put it somewhere the smell wouldn't get to him. "I've got a spare jacket in this box, if you want to bundle that up and make sure the poo won't get on anything else." Refusing to laugh at the situation, he was rather stern about the suggestion, and insisted as he opened the box.
A jacket was inside, though it was nothing like the one the stranger wore. It had no fur trim around the collar, only a sharp v-neck collar that stretched farther down than seemed appropriate. It wouldn't bother Dmitri if he refused, but he felt that Usa's kindness had rubbed off on him.

Ezekiel was in a bad mood, like a time bomb waiting to go off at any moment. This day had gone from bad to worse in a matter of seconds for the blonde haired young adult male. Other trainers were travelling the route just like Zeke had been, surely the feces Starly let off could have fallen on somebody else, but no it had to fall on his most pricey item and warm item of clothing, the smell of the poop ridden jacket was unbearable.
It seemed at least someone had noticed Ezekiel's case of rotten luck and felt sorry for the poor guy, apparently Dmitri was his name. The brown haired young male was straight up with Zeke as he offered him the chance to temporarily dispose of his dirty stinking jacket into a box and replace it with a spare jacket.
"Cheers mate, I owe you one!"
Ezekiel was truly thankful for the kindness Dmitri had shown to him, it was a real nice thing to do for a random stranger. The random act of kindness had alleviated some of the anger pent up inside of Zeke. The blonde haired male stuffed his jacket into the box held by Dmitri and retrieved the spare jacket. Ezekiel could feel and see how different it was to his own jacket, however he wasn't going to complain, it was a turn of luck for Zeke anyways. After putting on the spare jacket Ezekiel smiled and held his hand out toward Dmitri, he clearly intended to shake the guy's hand.

"Cheers." He tried to situate everything in the box, tucking his pancham egg deeper inside. It wasn't quite ready to hatch yet, so he thought keeping it warm and cramped was best. Usa would ring his neck if he found out he'd miscared for a pokemon egg. I need to do a good job at this. A stray finger stroked at the shell, his nail scratching lightly at the surface. Please don't crack. He shut the box tight.
"Glad to be of some help. On my way back from Birch's myself. You new around here?" Dmitri hardly qualified as anything more than 'new' himself; some company was always welcome. Dude seems legit, nothing weird 'bout him. Other than that accent... It still took some getting used to, for Dmitri, coming from such a faraway place.
"If you find something in those pockets, please leave them be." He wasn't sure if his parents would've thought to pack extra belongings into his clothes pockets, but it didn't seem far-fatched to assume even he might've left something in them. Most of the clothes smelled the same the last time he'd worn them, weeks before arriving in Hoenn.
It's sorta been awhile, hasn't it... Only about a month. Eh, that's more than most people go.

As Dmitri fiddled around with the box containing his feces ridden jacket, Ezekiel's keen eyes noticed a patterned dark grey egg with a singular leaf on top of it, Zeke had seen many eggs in his lifetime being the son of pokemon daycare owners back home.
"Sweet egg dude, you'll make a great partner for that young one, be ever so careful with handling the egg though!"
Bad memories begun to swell through the blonde haired boys mind, some days back home had been much worse then what he had experienced so far today. Ezekiel snapped himself out of his conscious drop as he shifted his attention back to Dmitri as he intently listened to what the brown haired male had to say.
"Believe it or not, today's my first day on the job! What about you?"
Ezekiel took notice to Dmitri's request and respected it, whatever possessions were inside of the jacket were none of his business, and he wasn't one to simply nose around someone else's business.

"I'd say it's more like vacation, really. And thanks." He wasn't at all too concerned with the egg, the professor had indicated it should be close to hatching. If I break it open early, she'll probably just come out smaller than usual. He still pondered over what to name her once she hatched. Bidada?
"She's going to be my ringer when I challenge Roxanne! Along with my Horsea, Dragunov." He could indulge Ezekiel curiosity, he wasn't expecting any confrontation with him. "What about you? What kinds of pokemon do you plan to raise?" He shifted the box around in his grip, tiring from the exhausting work. How much longer?
"Are you a natural blond, or do you color it?" Not that it really mattered to Dmitri, but he was curious. Blondes were seemingly common in Hoenn, despite being in such rarity back home. He was thinking about coloring it to match Usa, but he thought that would seem obsessive and clingy.

Ezekiel's curiosity was gauged, the blonde haired boy always a keen learner wished to know more about his new pal. Dmitri had a confident aura surrounding him as he mentioned he would soon be challenging the first gym leader of the Hoenn region, Roxanne who specialized in rock type pokemon. A combination of Pancham and Horsea would surely make Roxanne's day alot more interesting,
"You have a Horsea? That's hella cool, sweet nickname for it as well! What other pokemon do you have?
"My team currently consists of Astra the Shinx, Tael the Snubbull, Kiki the Aipom and Neo the Tympole, I'll take my time developing them before I challenge the gyms."
Ezekiel and his team were nowhere near ready for the challenge of a gym leader, their battle experience only ranged to the members of their team so far, it was only early days though, plenty of time for them to develop their skills ready for that major step in their journey.
"All natural my friend, luck of the draw I reckon."

"Well, I used to have an Alakazam and Skorupi, but I felt like I wasn't the right trainer for them so I let them go." Dmitri was almost sad to say it, it might leave a bad impression. But he'd honestly never won a single bout using them; he was the weak link in the equation. Their notoriety as pokemon was widespread, it wasn't their fault.
"But, I've had my pal Broski, he's a Swinub, along with a Gastly I've taken to calling Babadook." Exekiel's team sounded interesting enough. Only one of them he recognized. "There must be Shinx all over Hoenn, every two in five trainers I meet has one it seems. N-No offense..." Hopefully Ezekiel wouldn't take that as a rude remark, and more just a casual statement.
"I've never seen those other pokemon, back home it's too cold for them. I've seen a Snubbull on magazines and online, though. They're cute, in their own way." Hey bozo, are you trying to offend this guy? Dmitri gulped, waiting on an imminent retort sure to follow his poorly mannered response. I should learn some manners.
