It's rare, but today the raven haired man has called out to an acquaintance, not for anything as silly as a battle but, for something with a semblance to an apology of sorts. And so he waits on the route spending the idle time training with his only pokemon the egg he'd recently obtained sittiing by the rest of his gear. He moves around the dog like pokemon blows clashing lightly the Lucario despite being physically stronger still had much to learn about technique this was why they trained now. The pokemon throwing a roundhouse kick only to be parried and strick down with an open palm to its lower chest the trainers hand barely missing the pokemon's center spike. The force of the attack causes the pokemon the reel back slightly more than ready to continue. The two would continue to train until the woman he called would appear.
It was amazing the streams of messages that Syndra had received on her pokenav after the gala from a variety of people on her journey. Some she had read and others she deleted without a second thought. This particular message however had gotten her to travel onroute to the cycling road albeit temporarily. She was curious as to what the ranger wanted to say to her. After all, he was the one to root out the perpetrator even if they failed to apprehend them. By her side was strangely the confident Sandslash yet the ground type's attitude showed she couldn't care less about being there. It didn't take long for the green haired girl to cross paths with Ven and she stopped a few paces away. "This looks familiar doesn't it? What did you want to talk about?"
Lucario immediately notices the Sandslash his demeanor changing ever so slightly it's loss to the ground type still rang true in his mind, a sharp look from the trainer however prevented the Lucario from moving any further on the front. "You're not incorrect." His eyes and tone alike are void of any true emotion no smile to mask his words. "I've brought a fair bit of trouble to your journey and it'd be foolish not to think it would follow you from this point on." He begins before grabbing a towel and wiping his face. "I wanted to first express my gratitude for your support at the gala, second I wanted to express my regret for the troubles you have because of it." There was no lie in his words, Ven believed the woman's life would become far more complicated in the coming weeks because of the gala she'd chosen to interfere of her own accord, but still he'd taken the lead of the operation and whatever resulted was ultimately his fault. "The final reason for my calling you is simply to warn you from here on out. As I said your journey is likely to be far more dangerous from here on in so stay wary. You've seen the faces of your friends hidden remain wary of all, and know where your allies stand." His pink irises focus on the woman now still no hint of a smile on his face. "I owe you a debt, if you need any favor back up or whatever else have you feel free to call me and I'll do whatever's in my power to help."
With a quick offhanded wave to the side she shook her head as if to say that it was fine. She would have felt bad or even upset if the male was incorrect and her pokemon had attacked an innocent pokemon. That said there was no sign this was so. The trainer of that Snivy was literally a speck of trash in the elegance of that gala that warped it into what it became. "Don't worry about it. It seems like your hypothesis was correct after all." Remembering it made the blood in her veins boil.
Yet he stated his concerns for her and again she waved it off nonchalantly. The warning wasn't unheeded but Syndra and her pokemon were already taking measures, not that she believed them necessary. Having a coordinator and her lovestruck gang attack her wasn't all too threatening to her really. "It's not my first time making enemies. I'll be fine. My pokemon are already on their guard." While the Sandslash was cocky and arrogant in all respects of the word she was also protective to a fault which showed vibrantly here.
What he said wasn't without merit but it was all things she already knew after leaving that dreaded party. "I travel alone for the most part anyhow. Easier that way." That way no one person would know her whereabouts all the time. That was the perks of solo travel. Finally was his debt to her. Something she would normally wave off but due to their situation she merely smiled at it. "That's comforting I suppose. I'll keep that in mind... anything else?"
Gray clouds formed overhead allowing shade to grace the two, but secretly whispered of passing showers. If Ven was alone perhaps he would have yawned the day quickly turning into something barely salvageable the respite being he was able to give his regards to Syndra a girl more than competent enough to take care of herself in the dangerous streets that Hoenn had become. She asks if that's all the magnitude of the situation not having escaped her at all. Her demeanor now is different the gala having had a more than substantial effect on the manner in which she dealt with society her new outfit as well seemed to attest to this. However this change in perspective had little else to do with him and so he chooses to remain silent keeping his peace.
"As long as you understand." He has nothing more to say at this point, eyes falling toward lucario who understood it was about time to leave. "I'll keep you updated on happenings throughout the region can I expect the same of you?"

Syndra nodded a single time. There was no way that the gravity of the situation had not dawned on her. She was whimsical not an airhead. On his offer of an information exchange however she shrugged her shoulders unsure if that was something that she could commit to. After all her whimsy wouldn't allow her to be that hardcore. "I'm sure whatever information I could possibly provide about current events would be gathered by your Bureau of Rangers first." That was the truth of it as she couldn't imagine herself getting deeper into this mess unless she tried. All she wanted was to travel around and see the sights so that was what she intended to do not keep up with current events. There was a way to fix it. "If you ask me about anything specific on the other hand I can answer as best I can. That would likely prove more beneficial in the long run."
The rules were hers to sit this time around, there's no opposition to stand on despite the instinct this girl would end up far deeper into this conflict than she could currently surmise. The wheel of fate was turning leading characters into position no one safe from its grasp. Even Ven himself has a role to play among the myriad of players on the field.
"I suppose so." He slides the bag over his shoulder moving away now in the direction of Mauville where he'd continue his journey through region defying the will of the rain clouds above now. "Until next time." he calls back turned to the girl rain drops pattering on the dirt now, his list warning to find shelter before the storm hit only to go unheeded as the trainer disappears further down the route.

They both agreed for now. No threats or arguments to hear of. That is what made Syndra feel more at ease about her decisions. Sandslash watched as the other human walked away and then looked upward as if concerned for the rain to come. As a ground type the Sandslash didn't particularly appreciate rain and as her trainer Syndra knew it. The girl waved to the ranger goodbye before turning to her pokemon. "It's about time we get going too. To Mauville then?" The sandslash gave a sound that sounded like a defiant huff but nodded in agreement. For now the pokemon was being obedient and Syndra could only wonder if this was in an attempt to give her less to worry about as they themselves began walking down the path to Mauville themselves.
