The blonde's teeth clicked together in mild annoyance as he saw the injured froakie dodge Adelaide's hasty attack. She'd been too rash, of course her opponent would've had a chance at avoiding it. Rather than letting his slight irritation show, he schooled his lips into a smile and mentally commended her for the effort. She was a new pokémon, unused to battle, using a recently learned move; she really couldn't be blamed for her impulsiveness. [break][break] "Nice try, Addy," he called to her, keeping a wary eye on the frog pokémon who appeared to have received a sudden spurt of energy. It was worrisome. And seeing the intimidating torrent of bubbles he expulsed, surging and more powerful than his previous attacks, his worries were only cemented. [break][break] Adelaide, thankfully, managed to evade it by the skin of her teeth and Kris breathed a little sigh of reassurance. Good. That was good. If she'd taken that, it would've left her in a pinch, or even fainted. Crap, all they needed to do was get rid of this fucking thing before it had another chance to strike. [break][break] "Confusion, Addy!" He ordered, letting her go with a move she was more familiar with. "And if it misses, use it again!" She gave a little nod, a little hesitant now about getting too close to her opponent again. She'd felt those bubbles brush by her so closely, even spraying her with a light mist of water as they whooshed past, and knew full well as Kris did that she couldn't allow herself to get hit by that. Adelaide accumulated power and released psychic energy from her red horns, letting it manifest in the form of distorted waves in hues of violent and mauve, all of it aimed at the frog pokémon.
andrea bit her lip, her pointed canines digging into wet flesh with a grimace forming in response to the slight pain. the damned ralts had power despite her apparent youth. one that even her froakie couldn't resist. because he fell, his body quivering violently under the psychic-type's attack before eventually growing limp. as her lips curled to form a sneer, andrea moved in order to get a good look at her pokemon. yep. he was down for the count. shit.
"tch."
after spitting on the ground in an irritated fashion, she returned him into his capsule, carefully considering how she should handle the troublesome creature before her.
i fuckin' swear.
"guessin' yer realizin' how lucky ya are," she grunted.
the coordinator drew a blank for a brief while, her gaze harsh as she eyed the petite shape of the ralts. she had to take a risk. a positively shitty one, in her honest opinion. tossing her second pokemon into the ring, she revealed a plump creature of green and tan.
"num."
hiro's ears twitched, his gaze shifting toward his fellow pokemon. despite his lidded eyes and tired frown, an intelligent gleam sparkled within his gaze. he laid down, neatly folding his legs and patiently awaiting his mistress's orders.
"ember! give it a go twice in a row!" she called.
the pokemon yawned noisily before suddenly belching out the fiery mixture, wielding his relaxed posture to properly aim with little effort involved.

Alright, that last little move that lent to the froakie's final defeat had been a bit down to luck, Kristmar could admit that to himself, but it wasn't purely down to luck. The blonde just gave a content little huff at the girl's displeasure at having her formidable water type finally be brought down. They were on slightly more even ground now. [break][break] As soon as he soon the numel be set out, Kris' face brightened; he couldn't have asked for a better typing to be sent out against him, he knew exactly what move to--- oh. [break][break] Kristmar turned his head slowly with an irritated stiffness. He'd momentarily forgotten about the intense liking his dragon had taken to his opponent's other pokémon. "Adelaide, hold on as best as you can, and then pull out while..." he paused to grumble something under his breath, a tasteless curse in his mother tongue, "...while I get Deimos back to terrafirma." In the heat of battle was no time to get cozy and loved up and if that dragon dared put his chance at winning at stake... all for the opposite team's female dragon, Kris... Kris would not be happy. [break][break] "Deimos!" He barked loudly, gruff enough and with sufficient ire in his tone to catch the dual type's attention. His trainer didn't sound pleased. He sounded... kinda bothered. Like he was going to scold him. Deimos looked up from the bagon, whose side of her head he'd been in the process of nuzzling, and gave a soft yip. Kristmar schooled his lips into a slight smile, unnecessarily saccharine as he gestured to the field with his hand. "Deimos... you're going to come over here right now," he said, his tone low and warning. "Or else we just might not see your new... uh, girlfriend... again." Girlfriend, right? Pokémon had those? Or was it just a term used by humans? [break][break] Deimos lent the beautiful dragon at his side a gentle and endeared look. He wanted to see her again. Really wanted to see her again. He patted the tough hide on her upper arm, still soft to his scaley fingers, and tilted his head before... reluctantly pulling away. Duty called in the form of an irate trainer. He didn't want to be threatened with getting boxed. [break][break] Kris, for good measure, lightly swatted the gible's head as he plodded past with a morose air. Like, fucking hell, she was right there! He could still see her! [break][break] "Fuckin' stop that, you drama queen," Kris grumbled lowly to him, "Just... I dunno, show her what a tough gible you are with earthquake. I bet she hasn't seen that before." [break][break] Deimos whipped around to look at his trainer, and then at Sheeva. That... that was right! He could... show her what he was made of! He puffed out his chest and gave the girl a coy wave of his hand, totally smitten, before turning back to the battle. His compact body began to tremble and a low growl resounded in his chest as he began to build his concentration. The gible bore his teeth and ducked down his head, transferring his inner power through into the earth. The ground opened and roared, splitting and cracking with a devastating ferocity. The broken earth shot upwards near the numel as the gible's own growling only intensified from effort.

not even five seconds later.
her numel fainted.
andrea's mouth fell open, her expression morphing into one of absolute mortification.
holy shit.
she hated to admit it, but the coordinator was positively flabbergasted. andrea had never had her pokemon be hit with an absolute KO before. so this - this was - her brain.
"oh shit."
the girl slapped her hand against her forehead once and then twice before her sweaty palm proceeded to slide down her face and narrowed eyes of cerulean peeked past spread fingers.
"c'mon back, boy. good job, i guess," she said.
"nummm."
the pokemon was now laying on his side, covered in a fresh collection of bruises after the earth had jutted out and struck and battered his form relentlessly. he was wrapped in a collection of energy before long, eyes fluttering open for a brief moment before they shut as he fell into unconsciousness and was returned into his capsule.
"i can't fucking believe that shit happen. yer pokemon is a beast. no wonder sheeva wants ta give him a go," she sneered, her lips curling slightly.
"bagon!"
the dragon type, despite her comrade's quick defeat, cheered for the male. she appeared to be positively smitten now, her eyes radiating with warmth and love. sheeva rushed over to him to celebrate, hopping a little before awarding him with nuzzles and attention. ignoring her mistress's annoyed groan, she remained utterly infatuated.
"not sure what the fuck to do now. seein' as sheeva's obviously is too horny to function at the moment."
oblivious - - lv. 07 - - fainted. tackle - - growl - - ember hiro was his by earthquake! hiro has fainted!

our terrors, our worries, we'll throw them into the blue ocean
Kristmar's ego relished in the girl's reaction. It drank up her expression of utter astoundment on seeing her fire and ground type be rapidly decimated by the gible's daunting earthquake attack. The corners of his lips curled up into a cool, smug smirk and he rolled his shoulders, blissfully unaffected by his opponent's sneering and letting himself have this rare moment to gloat. It really couldn't have gone better for them, Deimos had surpassed his expectations this time around. And to think he'd doubted him for a moment back there.
He supposed any praising or words of encouragement wouldn't really be needed this time around... since the trainer's other pokémon came rushing over to fawn over him in celebration. Deimos puffed out his chest further and grinned toothily at her, lapping up every little bit of affection she had to offer him. Kris gave the amorous pair a fond roll of his eyes, too elated with his own easy victory to honestly find a reason to be irritated with their cute display.
"Well... if she's unable to continue," Kris started, walking a few steps closer to the inky-haired girl so she could hear him better, "you could forfeit her participation." Which would, understandably, hand the win to Kris. But this girl didn't strike him as the type that'd be very content with accepting a loss like that, he'd just have to see what she'd do.
Kristmar flicked away a few strands of blonde hair from his crimson eyes and slipped his hands into his jacket pockets, striking a relaxed and casual pose. Having wrestled the upperhand in the battle from her, he was feeling a little more easy. His wide grin had softened a little to a more friendly smile and not such a blatantly proud one. "I don't mind having a rematch with you when she's, uh... cooled down a little."

andrea snorted. but accepted the male's advise without another word. her dragon-type was useless at the moment. but she'd be fine later on, hopefully.
"i forfeit," she said, the words positively foul as she voiced them.
the girl cast her swooning pokemon a small glare before she simply sighed and shrugged. no reason to get pissy about it.
"yup. guess that's it."
the coordinator approached the young man, eyes reflecting her curiosity before she grinned.
"yer pretty legit, fer a prissy motherfucker," she teased, a mischievous look forming upon her sharp features.
her expression lessened slowly until a blank look took its place. with a sigh, she appeared to mull over something, gaze wandering upward to focus upon the clear skies. her lips parted slightly, and she exhaled before shifting her focus back to her opponent.
"imma offer ya somethin'. yer free ta do whatever the fuck with it. deny. accept. save it fer later. i don't give a shit. but ya deserve it. especially since yer a fuckin' coordinator and could use it. if ya got any pokemon that can - i'll teach 'em ice beam fer 'em. on the house."
nothing wrong with a little kindness. plus, the male deserved a reward, no matter how small or big - and she didn't have much money on her. so the tm would have to do for now. the woman failed to notice that her pack containing her egg was beginning to wriggle around quite a bit. soft crackling noises detected from the pouches innards.

our terrors, our worries, we'll throw them into the blue ocean
As the girl walked over to him, effectively causing them to meet up in the middle of their makeshift battle field, Kristmar gave a pronounced snort. Prissy motherfucker? The intention sounded like a compliment regarding his abilities but the way it was worded wasn't... exactly... appreciated. But it was nice to see that, after an initial moment where it seemed as though the girl had flared with a certain venom, she was actually quite reasonable.
And very generous despite her loss as well. Kris' thin eyebrows climbed up his forehead slightly in open surprise at her kind offer. A teaching of Ice Beam free of charge?
The long-haired male let his sharp cherry eyes wander over Andrea again, considering and observing the smaller girl. Niklaus owned the TM in question as well; it'd simply be a matter of asking him politely if he could offer him a teaching but... it'd feel rather rude to decline the girl since, even after a slightly unfair loss, she was offering it without prompt.
"Alright... I'll take you up on that, if you don't mind." Kris murmured, a wide smile splitting his lips after his pensive moment of silence. Carefully, the slender man lowered himself down to a crouch and began rummaging through his bag for a few things.
"I feel... a little bit bad though since you had to forfeit your last pokémon." Not exactly that bad since it ensured his win but he felt compelled to return her spontaneous generosity. "You fight well. That froakie's a beast. You might've given me a real run for my money if we'd continued." Might've. He still had ralts with a fairy move and Sheeva, being a bagon, would've still been a dragon at a disadvantage. Kristmar released a pokémon onto their pitch - Terelle, his horsea - and also slid out three TMs. The pokémon gazed about curiously as he hovered barely above the disturbed earth, his snout wiggling as he tentatively neared the female human. Who was this?
"We're both coordinators so... I don't mind this being a trade rather than you giving me a prize for a battle we didn't even finish." He spread the three discs between his fingers, holding them like a hand of cards, flashing the light pink, burnt orange and brown colours. "Pick one. I got Dazzling Gleam, Fire Blast and Earthquake here."

now it was andrea's turn to be surprised - rendered temporarily speechless by the abrupt show of kindness.
"really?"
she peered down at the offered tms and realized that she had been granted the rare opportunity of teaching one of her pokemon a potentially powerful move. the coordinator took a noticeably lengthy amount of time to determine what she should do in such a situation. after this had passed, the girl snapped her fingers and fished a red and white capsule out of her bag.
"he could use some sweet moves," she said.
"absol!"
from the capsule a pokemon possessing a glossy coat of white fur appeared. it blinked in response to the light of day, taking in its surroundings before its gaze settled onto the tiny horse that had approached his mistress.
"hey there, cutie," andrea crooned.
she proceeded to kneel, fingers moving to press and rub gently against the horsea's prominent snout. absol bowed his head so that he could visually examine the pokemon closely as andrea retrieved her own tm which contained ice beam.
"thank ya fer this," she said, grinning. "sure absol'll love it, too. i'll teach him fire blast, yeah?"
after taking the time to sniff at the water-type, the dark-type sat and peered up at the pretty human male with a curious expression adjusted onto his face.

our terrors, our worries, we'll throw them into the blue ocean
An absol? You didn't see many of these around. Kristmar gave a soft and impressed hum as he looked the beautiful beast over. He rested his hands on his knees as he continued to crouch, at around eye level with the creature, and let his eyes pass over its graceful form. Teaching TMs to other trainers' pokémon was quickly turning into one of his favourite things to do; he encountered many uncommon pokémon that he otherwise wouldn't see.
"No problem at all." Kris replied once he'd marvelled sufficiently over the absol and sorted through his TMs. He slid the other two back into his satchel and held only the fire-type one. He glanced over his shoulder at Andrea with a faint smirk as she petted his horsea. "I don't mind meeting up to trade moves more often if all your pokémon are this nice."
Tentatively, Kris lifted his free hand and slowly brought it to the dark-type's shoulder. Wary of being nipped or rejected seeing as he was a stranger, he didn't move too fast. The back of his slim fingers hesitantly brushed the pokémon's silky pelt and his smirk softened into a gentle smile.
"Ready to learn a new move?" He murmured, showing the absol the technical machine. He looked over at Terelle for a second, noticing that the horsea was very at ease with the unfamiliar lady, as trusting as ever. The weird object didn't faze him at all. With a little more confidence, Kristmar pet the absol's shoulder a little more before bringing the orange disc to it and lightly touching it with the item. Instantly, the disc hummed and whirred to life, beginning to spin in its sleeve with increasing velocity.
"Next time I see you around, I'll ask you for a rematch, yeah?"
andrea gingerly pressed her own cerulean disk against the horsea in turn. it whirled within the confines of its case, working to input the required amount of information the little horsea would need to wield the ice-type move. once she was done, she stood to examine her absol, noting that the pokemon blinked and shifted his gaze from the male human to her.
"ya got it down, boy?"
"absol," he replied.
"good ta know! thank ya very much, krissy!"
despite her loss, everything was appearing to end on a fairly good note. not only had her pokemon gain some much needed experience, but absol had also managed to learn something that could possibly earn them a win one day.
"'mm free fer trade or a rematch at any time. all ya gotta do is ask, yeah?"
the female made sure all of her items were in order as she spoke. she secured each loose item into her pouch, readjusted the straps - and beckoned absol and bagon to her side.
"it's time fer me ta go! day's 'bout ta come to an end, yeah? better keep movin'."
