hello calamity! we're nearing the two months mark in a few weeks. how time flies! right now we have two things going on that need your participation. the first is an activity check! it is impotant that you check in so you don't lose your face claim. the second is the otm nomiations! we're doing it a bit different than last time. so please submit your nominations in. a vote thread will be up in the next few days. there will also be a formal event coming very soon, so keep your eye out for that. keep being cool!
we're currently about to host calamity's first contest in slatepor. trainers are flocking to the city to see, the city's been trying to get good pr since the gala, and it seems to be working! they're asking for both coordinators and volunteer judges to sign up.

More likely than not though, his friendships lack a deeper level of understanding and trust, being more suited to friends that you're able to have a good time or an interesting chat with. Kris rarely has a friend who he's able to completely open up to with but, even if he's unable to spill his inner doubts, woes and worries, he'd still hold close and dear anyone who he's actually able to call a friend and lend them his ear if they ever needed to talk. Even if he can be a bit... difficult at times with them.

A man who usually speaks his mind, regardless of consequences, and often purposely instigates petty arguments, it's not rare for him to get on someone's bad side. Easily offended and an owner of a sensitive pride, he's open to trivial grudges and rivalries that are taken too seriously. His dislike for someone is normally made very clear through snide comments, condescending looks and unnecessary smirks but rarely does Kris actually ever get into physical conflicts. If he wasn't given a choice or couldn't back down without seeming like a chicken, he... he'd totally do it though! D<

With his ego being so easy to please, a few well-placed compliments and winning smile is pretty much all it takes to make him focus on you. Although it... would probably be wise to note that his crushes resemble, y'know, schoolboy crushes with the way said person turns into an object of blatant teasing and mild bullying. So sometimes it isn't even easy to tell if he's serious or not. He doesn't flirt a lot. And anything suggestive makes him very uncomfortable and is, hands down, the fastest way to make Kris actually red-faced and splutter. And then angry. Very angry.

Friends who he doesn't really like but he puts up with them anyway (other coordinators, most likely) [break][break] Enemies: Mooore rivals but the competition being not so healthy, likely someone he envies. People he's pissed off with his loud mouth or just find his general personality irritating (which, if he knew about, would go out of his way to even be more irritating). People who recognize him from his grunt days in Team Magma or even old collegues that know of him sneakily deflecting because he couldn't cut it o/[break][break] Lovers: One-sided crushes that go nowhere, both on Kris' half and someone else's half. An earnest kind of guy, he gets comfortable with people very easily, adopting them into his circle of friends with surprising quickness if they've got something about them that they like. He tends to get along like a house on fire with other like-minded boisterous and energetic people, not really knowing how to handle the 'socially awkward' and shy with whom he probably comes off as overbearing. Quiet pokémon? Yeah, he can handle those but quiet people are another matter entirely. His phone is always free to message and ring up and he's always down for a good time. A boyish flirt, not even his good friends are safe from his brazen advances. Well, his male friends, at least. There are no boundaries when it comes to him and, if you're his friend, prepare to have your personal life made a common subject.

Don't let his short stature fool you, Alex has had his fair share of fist fights and he's learnt enough moves himself to know how to crack a few good punches. Enthusiastic and energetic, this side to his personality is also applicable here when animosity is concerned. Hot-headed, he's aggressive when angered and all to eager to antagonize it further. Hold him back or he will be the first to swing punches. Making fun of his height is met with jaded responses but it isn't hard to wind him up.

Flirtships, flings, he does both of those, although he says he hasn't had a lasting crush on anyone in a while. But that can always change.

[break][break] They both cut all ties with Magma around the same time and, having similar goals involving pokémon coordinating, opted to accompany one another on their journey through Hoenn. Although they were in Magma together, they never really spoke when they were both in the organization, being that Niklaus outranked Kris, who was a simple grunt, by far. It wasn't until they were assigned missions and Kris, unknowing he was talking to an admin, spoke of his wish to deflect from Magma and, on impulse, they both left.

Given a team that were too strong for him to handle, he was repetitively disobeyed and ignored by his own team and some days it was better than others. Kris' first meeting with rivalling Aqua grunt Zephyr was on one of those bad days though and they engaged in battle. Kris suffered a humiliating defeat, complete with his poochyena prefering to piss on a tree rather than attacking its foe in the middle of battle. [break][break] A couple of years down the line, Kris and Ze meet up once more and there's residual rivalry, but this time it's more amiable being that Kris is no longer with Magma. He assaults Ze with his one-sided love for puns and constant rematches, determined to assert himself after receiving his second defeat from the man on their reunion. They're just like big kids.

After a good few years of not hearing anything about each other, their paths have crossed in the starting town and contact has once again been established. Friends. And eventually bandmates.

rivals! yup, rivals. the enemy type. andrea is rude, impolite, disgusting, crude and would totes take advantage of the pretty boy's sensitivity. as long as she knows that he can take it and deal with it, she'll continue to play the role of antagonist. andrea'll likely try to challenge him whenever they meet, and would gladly face off against him in a competition. and, yes, she'd shove any of her victories into his face 'cause she's a genuine bitch and proud of it.
B) yessss i lovelove this. Kris feeds off this sort of competitivity because it just drives him more doggedly forward >8U bc what's better than rubbing something smugly in the face of someone you dislike?
i see Andrea's personality just rubbing him all the wrong ways and making him ruffled but he'd rise to it >I give him her worst, he'll thrive on it and wouldn't back down. But, yes, Kris is sensitive to anything remotely insulting or offensive (pretty krissy :T that right there, man) but it just makes him pissed af. pissy krissy
it'd probably reach that point that merely being around her puts him in a foul mood :') and he'd actively go after her as well to just... just... he probably wouldn't even know D<he just knows that he's gotta say or do something or challenge her right then and there if they've got some scores unsettled or she one-upped him badly last time or beat him, be it in a contest or battle.

alexander torres ya ok i heard you were looking for "handsome and cute fellas for him to humour himself with" for alexander how can benji be of assistance to you. uh anyway yeah benji's handsome and cute but don't say that to his face he'll freak out internally while giving you a straight face. alex sounds like a riot which is probably overkill for benji by hey suck it up he got to deal with people all the time he's seen worse. he'll tolerate his crazy, but he might lose it himself one day. but they can def travel or hookup or w/e you know lemme know

Cissie is the type of person that has gone through many changes in her life. She's hesitant and sensitive and stutters or mumbles when she speaks sometimes which "is wasting time" in Kris's eyes and annoying. With Kris being able to easily offend and being open to trivial grudges and rivalries I think Cissie coming into the fray is just that perfect wrench into the smooth workings of Nik and Kris's travel time. I would love it if she could be a target for Kris? Not in a malicious manner but that comical hate and loathing with sassiness and headlocks and smacks to the back of the head and just that "OOH! I want her to go away! If I could stick her in a box and mail her elsewhere I would! She's just so...so...God she looks just like him (Nik)." Pats her head for no apparent reason as she's braced for headlock or purposely sends her out to get something that interrupts Nik's possible incoming of doting. I can see where she think she utterly hates him and being with the two and just the situation but then she realizes that it's kind of like having a family again so she gets the feels coming in.

kristmar mortensen I feel as if Nia wouldn't have cared upon meeting him if he was or wasn't a part of Magma in the past, because it's none of her business / she just doesn't really care. She just cares about the now man. Either way, these two might get along, but bicker back and forth like old married people and then laugh about it together. She likes to poke fun and make people nervous with how.... openly, she flirts. And maybe that makes him all stammering and etc. She'd think he was attractive and be jealous of his long hair, since she doesn't have the self-control to grow hers out. Like. At all. She has no patience okay? So yeah, she'd want to braid it.......
