SECRETS
It had been a rather long journey from Fallarbor Town to Littleroot Town, but she'd finally arrived last night. Unfortunately she'd gotten in too late to see Professor Birch, and she'd spent all night tossing and turning in the inn bed. Needless to say, she looked and felt awful. The breeder hadn't slept a wink without some sort of Pokemon companion, and she hated being alone. When was the last time she'd ever been somewhere without at least the company of one of the farm's Pokemon? She wracked her brain for an answer, but it had been far too long - and for good reason. Taking a sip of the earl grey tea she'd brewed, the young woman quickly set to getting dressed and doing something about her sleep deprived face. It was an ungodly time in the morning, but working on a Pokemon farm had her accustomed to this. Not that it had been hard to wake up regardless, she'd never slept!
Heading out of the inn she quickly crossed the small town, slipping into the lab and meeting with Professor Birch. He wasn't very awake himself, a mug of hot coffee in hand. But he smiled warmly at her, knowing all too well why she'd come to see him. She was one of many, from what she could tell. Littleroot was absolutely overrun with people. Not wanting to take too much of his time, their meeting was brief. Emma hardly felt the need to ask the Professor questions about Pokemon, she was an expert in her own right! But the time they would've spent doing that was instead spent on Birch teaching her how to use the new Pokedex she abhorred so much.
"Hmm," she hummed, plopping down next to a tree not too far off from the lab. Pokeball in hand, she looked at it for a moment. Turning it round and round as though in doing so it would reveal what was inside. He said papa hand picked my partner out of a batch of newborns back home. I wonder who it is, she thought, smiling warmly at the pokeball. It wasn't like her father to be so involved in her life like this, but perhaps he was just excited to see her out adventuring like her older siblings. "Well, time to get you out of this awful cage!" she smiled, hitting the button on the pokeball and watching as a beam of light released an..."Oddish!" it said happily, hopping once to show her excitement.
"Aren't you darling," Emma smiled warmly at the Oddish, kneeling in front of it. She was beautiful and reminded her of the flowers and baby Pokemon back at home. "Freesia," the name rolled off her tongue so easily, "What do you think? Could I call you Freesia?" she asked, putting the pokeball that had contained the Oddish in her bag as she awaited the Pokemon's answer. The Pokemon danced around a bit happily, and she took that as a 'yes'. Scooping the Pokemon into her arms, she moved to lean back against the tree. Her gaze drifting from the lab and out towards Route 101. She wasn't sure where to start or what to do first.
"I wonder who we'll meet out there..."
