Nora settled down on the grass, letting out a soft sigh, as she tilted her head back, her eyes following the tiny clouds. It wasn't like she couldn't leave this route, she could leave whenever she wanted. Yeah. That was it.
Her Pokemon was riffling through her bag and let out a delighted squeal, as she found a small bag of Pokefood. The Snorunt settled on the ground, beside her trainer and popped a couple pellets in her mouth, before offering the bag up to her trainer. The lady must be hungry by now! The two had been walking around for so long, Eva felt like they would fall off! Though the lady shook her head, declining her offer. Humans were weird.
"I wonder if the ol' man wouldn't mind if we went back to his lab to see where Oldale town is," Nora said, patting Eva on the head absentmindedly. The Snorunt glanced up at her, before turning back to eating, clearing not understanding a word she said. "Not like I'll figure my way out of here by myself..." The breeder let out a sigh, wilting slightly, as realization dawned on her. "I've finally gone mad, haven't I? I'm just talking to myself, aren't I? Not like you understand what I'm saying, do you?" She glanced at Eva, who paused her eating once more, and believing her trainer wanted something, let out a delighted squeak. Of course not.
Notes: Nora's lost once again with her oblivious Snorunt in tow. This should be interesting.
[attr="class","axscroll"]Alright, so his adventure was... interesting so far. Axel walked along the route with the Chespin at his side. The grass type walked proudly with her head held high, arms swinging back and forward with each step. Axel couldn't help but roll his eyes at the Pokemon. He didn't have Holly for even a day, and he was already done with her drama queen personality. Part of him hoped that the drama queen personality would disappear upon evolution, but he wasn't holding his breath for it. As far as he knew, when Pokemon evolved they kept most of their personality. They might have gained some confidence, or even a new trait or two, but they stayed the same for the most part.
"So... any reason you're so dramatic all the time?" Axel asked. He knew he couldn't get a real answer from the Chespin, but he couldn't help but ask anyway. Holly paused in her step, and Axel thought she was going to kick him in the shin or something, but instead she tilted her head and pointed towards the grass off the path. The Trainer followed her paw and narrowed his eyes. A few feet away was a girl sitting in the grass, and from his point of view, he couldn't see the Snorunt that was sitting beside her. Axel's curious nature got the better of him and he stepped past the Chespin, walking in the grass and coming closer to the girl. However, he paused when he heard the girl... talking to herself?
Unaware of the Snorunt beside her, Axel cracked a smile and crossed his arms. "I don't know who you're talking to, but I can definitely understand you." He said, a grin on his face as he came into the girl's view. At this point, the Snorunt was in Axel's view, but the Trainer still hadn't noticed the Ice type. Holly, on the other hand, did. The Chespin waddled up and behind Axel's ankles, looking past Aurora and staring directly at her Pokemon. Who knew the drama queen had a shy personality with others?
Aurora Samson ooc: Aw yes, let the awkward snark fest begin.

▶I will -Burn my dread
I once ran away from the god of fear
And he chained me to despair
Nora blinked, coming back to reality, as she heard the new voice. It sounded male, instantly peaking her interest, as she sat up straighter. Whoever it was, it didn't matter; she needed to look presentable. The voice was coming from the side of Littleroot town - at least, that's where it sounded like it was coming from -, perhaps it was another new trainer making his way out of the starting line. A smirk crossed her mouth and she let out a disdainful sniff. Well then. Guess she had some competition getting out of that old town. Interesting...
She got to her feet, brushing herself off, as the voice grew closer. He sounded about her age which was perfect; no way was she going to let a simple old coot destroy her chance for a new toy! However, her smile soon faded, as he opened his mouth. "Um, excuse me?" She had never been spoken to like that and she bristled, turning a light pink. Of course it was fine if she said that she was talking to herself, but someone else? Nu-uh. Not a chance. "I'll have you know I was talking to my Pokemon. Isn't that common for breeders, to try and form at least some connection to their Pokemon. Unlike competitors or trainers, breeders actually care about their Pokemon." She flipped her hair over her shoulder, matching his smirk with her own.
Eva, though, didn't seem to see the tension between the two. Instead, she stumbled to her feet, the small bag of Pokefood tumbling to the ground, and let out a loud and excited squeak as she saw the green Pokemon peeked out from behind her trainer's leg. The Snorunt teetered over to the Chespin, hopping from foot to foot and letting out coos and squeaks. She waved her "arms" in the air, small snowflakes shooting out of them, slowly starting to pile up around them. Another new friend! First she met the lady now it was another Pokemon. This day was just getting better and better!
[attr="class","axscroll"]When the girl had gotten up, Axel couldn't help but stare a bit. She was attractive, there was no doubt about that. The smile on her face was enough to get Axel's cheeks fainted pink. But that all soon faded away when her smile disappeared and she retorted. The Trainer held his hands up in defense and took a step back just in case she would lash out physically. "Hey! I didn't see your Pokemon, girl, calm down." He paused a moment when she mentioned that Trainers didn't care about their Pokemon.
His hands came down and he crossed his arms, staring at the girl with a rather offended look. However, Axel's expression soon switched over to a determined one. "Hold up. Trainers do care for their Pokemon, by the way. That's a pretty broad, and wrong, assumption to yell at someone you just met." He stated, pressing his lips together and meeting the girl's fiery gaze with his own. It was one thing for a stranger to lash out at you, but it was another for lashing out for a simple mistake, and another for just assuming things right off the bat. However, in the back of his mind, Axel couldn't help but feel she had a point. He didn't even have the Chespin for more than a day and he was thinking about trading her already. But he didn't mention that part, he was too focused on teaching this sassy girl a lesson.
Holly, on the other hand, focused all her attention onto the Snorunt. The snow the Pokemon was creating from nowhere was absolutely amazing to her. She left Axel's ankles and moved forward, staring in awe as the snow fell to the ground and melted. The Chespin clapped her paws excitedly, chattering to the Snorunt about how amazing that was. People say that Pokemon tend to take after their Trainers, but it appeared as though Holly was the complete opposite of Axel. She was at least attempting to make friends, while Axel was just trying to defend himself and put the girl in her place.
Nora blinked and shook her head slowly, a bit confused. A lot of people -well, just the people around her old home- took her crap for what it was and said nothing of it, though he hadn't seemed quite keen on letting her say that and not get away with it. Letting out a snort, she crossed her arms and gave a derisive laugh, trying to push his comment away like it was nothing. "Of course you would say that. I would be worried if you accepted that face-value and said nothing of it." She had to at least pretend like she wasn't completely taken aback by his response. After all, she had to fake it till she made it. If the two ever ran into each other again, she would have to continue this. "Silly boy, couldn't you have thought of a more interesting response? Sure, it surprised how quick you were to respond, but still. There has to be something in that little noggin of yours." She couldn't help but taunt the other, a part of her enjoying the banter; it was a nice and refreshing experience to be pushed in her bluntness. Now that, that was a rare experience.
Eva looked surprised as the Chespin started talking to her and she gave an excited hop, the snow halting and slowly melting into a puddle around them. Oh how nice! There was someone to actually talk to! The lady never seemed to understand what she was saying, though the Pokemon wouldn't give up trying!
"Snorunt runt sno!" "It is nice to meet you, new friend!"
"Snowrunt sno snorunt sno?" "Have you just been taken from the old man back at the lab?"
[attr="class","axscroll"]Axel raised a eyebrow at the girl. Part of him felt proud that he had stumped her. Although she tried to hide it, he could tell he surprised her. Even if the hints were there for a second, something about her pause and the tone of her voice was enough to boost Axel's ego just a little bit.
His arms were still crossed and he turned to the side, still staring down the girl as she spoke. "Right, right, like I'm gonna take an insult like that sitting down. No way, girl." Axel mocked, sticking his tongue out slightly. He was so mature, wasn't he? Although, who could blame him? Axel had been around his little siblings for his entire life. Even though he wanted to say he was the mature one, Axel picked one up one too many habits from his family. Some habits were worst than others.
"I could say something more, but you might not understand it." Axel taunted. Oh, there it was. The newbie Trainer was gloating to a stranger he had just met, and someone he had misjudged apparently. By looks, the girl didn't look intimidating. She looked too cute, too sweet and kind hearted from first glance. Boy was he wrong. Although, part of Axel couldn't help but admit the random banter was a little... fun. He wasn't sure if the girl caught onto it or not, but it was fun for him.
Holly tilted her head and stared for a moment before chattering happily. "It's nice to meet you too!" The Chespin replied. "And I was! It's nice to finally get out of there, wasn't it? No more white walls. Freedom! But it's weird we're now stuck with these humans though, am I right?"
ooc: No worries! I'm thoroughly enjoying where this is headed. xD
