hey guys! we've finally hit our three month mark! let's stay strong. the activity check and gala have ended, if your character has been archived and you need them back please pm one of the admins! unfortunately, noods has steped down from his admin position. make sure you say your goodbyes here!

we're currently about to host calamity's first contest in slatepor. trainers are flocking to the city to see, the city's been trying to get good pr since the gala, and it seems to be working! they're asking for both coordinators and volunteer judges to sign up.
CALAMITY is a roleplaying forum inspired by the popular franchise POKEMON, which does not belong to us. the skin was crafted by PHARAOH LEAP of GANGNAM STYLE. special thanks to SPIRAL for contributing ideas! all art on the forum does not belong to us unless stated otherwise, while all written works belong to the members who posted them. jackson stared at his phone in frustration, as if glaring would cause the object of his anger to materialize right out of the phone. his grip was tight enough that he was surprised the phone was holding up so well, and the more times he read the "be there in less than 15" the tighter his grip seemed to get.
because he got the message at least thirty minutes ago, and no signs of his annoying traveling companion were to be seen anywhere. but of course aries wouldn't keep his promise to be on time. when had he ever. but jackson had hoped that just this once the dumbass would actually care. what a foolish wish.
iris whined next to him and nuzzled his leg, hoping he'd calm down just a bit. it worked, briefly. jackson bent down to scratch under her ear, "i swear, if he doesn't show up soon, we're just gonna head to petalburg on our own," he murmured.

No Masters or Kings When the Ritual begins
There is no sweeter innocence than our gentle sin
Aries is late! His phone's been in his hand this entire time, too, and yet he still managed to lose track of time. He'll chalk it up to the fact that he's always late, but he's pretty sure Jackson isn't buying that excuse any more. Not that Aries won't try it, anyway, just to be sure.
He spots his friend's spiky hair between bushes, and watches him with interest as Jackson bends down to talk to his pokemon. Aries is almost surprised at how kind Jackson is towards his pokemon. 'He could at least treat me with more compassion', Aries thinks bitterly - not that he'd have their relationship any other way... but Jackson can be, well... a bit rough. Especially with Aries (not that Aries doesn't completely deserve it, but that's a trivial fact, and Aries wouldn't be caught dead admitting to it).
Aries liked watching this side of Jackson. But he can hear Jackson's voice carry though the brush, and he blushes slightly at how late he really is, now. He slips through a couple bushes, carefully coming up behind Jackson as silently as possible, before he pounces on his friend.
"Surprise!" Aries shouts. He grabs hold of Jackson's neck from behind. He's taking full advantage of the fact that Jackson is currently bent over, and makes an attempt to climb onto his back. "Didja miss me?"

"fuck," jackson cursed when a good hundred plus pounds of deadweight dropped suddenly onto his back. as much as he didn't want to admit, he was certainly surprised at aries jumping onto his back. he was also annoyed. very annoyed. what an idiot thinking he could show up out of nowhere and pretend like he wasn't at least fifteen minutes late. what had he been doing, anyway? "you idiot," he stood up, hoping aries would slip off of him and, preferably, fall onto his ass (or something equally as painful).
"don't you ever think about anything? what if you had damaged your pokemon egg?" or mine, but he didn't want to voice that out loud. aries first and foremost needed to learn how to take care of his own things, and jackson kept his pokemon egg in a very aries-proof place. "remember how your mother always used to say look before you leap? she said it for a reason, you know," jackson had a mind to smack the back of aries's head to get the words through his thick skull, but he refrained. "also. you're late," jackson tapped his watch to make a point, even though he knew it would all too likely go in one ear and out the other. still, he could hope.
NOTES ▸ you know, sometimes i forget that you know how to code things...

Aries jumped off of Jackson's back as if his best friend had somehow caught on fire. Truthfully, he'd forgotten all about his pokemon egg, but he wasn't about to go and tell Jackson that. The other boy would probably just smirk at him and laugh. What a jerk.
"Yeah, yeah, I know," Aries dismissed Jackson's words. He'd heard them plenty of times before (for a good reason, of course, but he liked to pretend that his methods were completely acceptable). He rolled his eyes and bowed his head, "yes mother," he teased, punching Jackson in the shoulder lightly. "I'll be more careful next time," he said nothing about being on time, of course. Because that was something they both knew was far too much of a stretch.
"So, are you ready to head out?" Aries asked, "or is there something on route 102 that you wanna check out?"

jackson was painfully aware of aries flippant disregard to his words, but he bit his tongue. no need to get in an argument now, they were both far too stubborn for that. he'd get back at aries for calling him 'mom' eventually. karma had a way of dealing with dumbasses, and jackson would be there to watch every second (and then maybe intervene to save his friend, because he couldn't live with himself if aries ever got too hurt).
jackson glanced at the growlithe at his heel. "did you catch any new pokemon?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. "or are you sticking with that porygon of yours?" he smirked, knowing the comment would likely piss aries off.
"care to battle to see who's the better trainer, so far?"
