Was Hoenn notorious for pretty days, or what?
The morning had started off with a light drizzle. Bunny had gone outside anyways, her and Diana enjoying the misting. The Dratini had squealed in delight at the feeling of water against her skin, and Bunny had relished in the soothing feeling of cold droplets making her skin and clothes damp. But now it was early afternoon, the clouds were nearly completely out of sight, and the sun was out. Bunny had dried out long ago, feeling refreshed, but Diana hadn't gotten quite enough.
Her pokémon made joyful noises as she played and performed tricks in the water of the pond on Route 103. Bunny giggled and kicked her bare feet, creating miniature waves for the Dratini to disturb. The forest was alive with the chatter of faraway bug and bird pokémon, chirping in their own resonances. It was music to her ears. Today was perfect.
Bunny's back flopped onto the grassy turf behind her, still kicking her feet idly. She had to squint to look at the blueness of the sky and shield her eyes from the sun with her hand. A long, long ways away, much higher above than she could determine details, a group of bird pokémon were flying in a large V formation.
After a few minutes, Bunny turned onto her side and reached into her bag, pulling out her pokédex. She hadn't really looked through it since she retrieved it from Professor Birch, so now was a time as good as any.
All the pokémon she had seen and caught were recorded in the digital encyclopedia of sorts. She read the entries of all of them, soaking in every detail. Average height and weight, their types, the areas in which they lived and so on were all transcribed in each pokémon species' individual profile. It was an amazing piece of technology, she had to admit. Part of her was upset she had never seen on sooner, and even more so that she had so many empty spaces she had yet to fill out. She had a long way to go.

"Well, hello there."
Andrea had just happened upon the girl. She had spotted that petite figure, the elegantly designed hair, and those columns of exposed flesh that glowed within the light of day. The woman instantly felt her heart begin to long for the simple beauty. Or at least garner her affection somehow. Dialing up her charm, she approached, swaggering in with the utmost confidence as she moved to greet the pretty female. Andrea's grin was a tad lewd, and her gaze wandered, but her facial features reflected her genuine interest in the pretty princess.
Yes. That was what she was reminded of. A princess.
"Meowth?"
Salem, her feline companion, mewled in bewilderment as his mistress greeted the stranger warmly. His gaze flickered toward the Dratini afterward, curiosity gleaming in his eyes as she took in the serpentine figure. She was pretty - a rare beauty. The normal-types tail swayed from side to side as he considered his options before settling himself onto his two feet and approaching the Pokemon.
"Meow," he greeted, politely.
"Name's Andrea, princess."
Without missing a beat, she moved to kneel before the girl who lay on the warm and plush grass. Andrea grabbed at her hand and moved to gingerly press a kiss against the smooth surface. Oh, how soft and pretty it was.
"At yer service."
Salem resisted the overwhelming urge to roll his eyes in the background.

Bunny had found herself so entranced in her pokédex that she didn't even notice another person coming nearby. This time though, she didn't jump as the person spoke. Their voice had a certain tone that luckily didn't surprise her. Bunny moved the pokédex from her face and looked up to the approaching girl before sitting up and nervously brushing a piece of hair out of her face, a flush beginning to adorn her cheeks.
"Oh, I'm sorry," she said, "did you want some of the pond? I can move." She didn't know why she assumed the girl would want some of the pond, but Bunny supposed that if she did, somebody else probably would, too. She scooted over a little as to make room, even though the shore of the pond was wide enough for at least ten people to be spread around equally along its bank.
At the Meowth's curious noise, Bunny's eyes flickered to it. She then glanced to her pokédex, still in her hand. Motioning with it, she glanced back up to the trainer. "Do you mind if I? I've never seen a Meowth before."
The pokémon was now looking at Diana, who had poked her head out of the water to watch the meeting. She edged a little closer as the Meowth approached, letting out a friendly "Tini," as response. She was a very friendly sort of pokémon, so she moved around in the water a bit as if to ask if the Meowth wanted to play.
Bunny blushed even more at the pet name, and her whole face was red by the time Andrea knelt beside her, grabbed her hand and planted a kiss on it. Though oddly, beneath her minor embarrassment, she mostly felt at ease with the girl. Maybe it was her easy-going voice, but something made Bunny feel somewhat more comfortable than she could've been.
With a giggle, she introduced herself. "I'm Bunny, and I'm no princess. But thank you, I'll keep the 'at my service' thing to mind." Her blush was slowly diminishing, but for the most part it was still there when she gave Andrea a playful wink. She figured the best way to stop being shy around somebody who obviously wanted her attention was to think less and do more. "What are you doing on Route 103, if you don't mind me asking?"

"'course, princess. Give 'em a glance," she said, gesturing to her Meowth. "And, ya had me fooled. 'cause yer the fairest I've seen so far today."
She spoke of her delicate figure - her soft features - and her succulent flesh tinged with the slightest shade of pink. The girl didn't appear to mind her advances either, which only encouraged Andrea further. And she boldly puffed out her chest as she acknowledged the fact that she had managed to capture the female's attentions. Peering curiously at the woman's face, she soon realized that they shared a simple detail with one another. Eye color. Grinning at this, she released the woman's hand after giving it an affectionate squeeze.
"'mm just here ta train a little bit, princess," she drawled.
Pulling away in a reluctant fashion, she gestured for her normal-type to introduce himself to the petite girl. The feline was in the process of politely refusing the Dratini's offer to play when she did so.
"Say 'hi', boy. Don't be rude," she said, snapping her fingers to regain his attention.
"Meow?"
Once he realized what he was expected to do, he glanced at the pretty Dratini before confidently striding toward the woman.
"This is my Meowth, Salem," Andrea introduced. "He's the type ta walk upright, as ya can clearly see."
"Meow," he purred, eyes gleaming with curiosity.
He sniffed at Bunny, noting her natural aroma - sweet - before offering her a friendly purr in greeting.
"The name's Andrea, Bunny. 'mm a coordinator. The tough and cool sort. If ya get what I mean," she said.
Taking advantage of the open space available at the girl's side, Andrea eagerly flopped onto her rear with a soft grunt.

❞
As the Meowth's trainer gave consent, Bunny raised her pokédex and recorded the pokémon for later. But now she collapsed it and returned it to her bag as to be polite. Bunny stared at Andrea's eyes as the girl gave her a gentle squeeze and also noticed that they shared similar, if not nearly exactly the same eye color, and found it rather coincidental. What are the odds!"Well, aren't you sweet?" She giggled, covering her mouth politely with her other hand. "I suppose you're my knight in shining armor?" It was just a joke of course, but in some way Bunny hoped that Andrea would keep the act going for a little while. It made her feel kind of nice in a way she couldn't explain.
"Really?" Bunny asked as Andrea explained that they were out to train. She didn't know why she sounded surprised, the girl was obviously a trainer of some sort. Of course she wanted to train on such a pretty day! "I should probably be doing that too, to be honest," Bunny giggled in an embarrassed fashion, kicking her feet in the water.
Then Andrea removed herself from Bunny's hand, and she couldn't help feeling like her palm was now cold without the added warmth. Something about Andrea's presence made Bunny feel kind of natural and happy. Her compliments were so smooth and simple that it kept Bunny from feeling like she needed to be shy or apologize more than needed, and in a way, it soothed her. It was nice to not feel so worried.
When Andrea snapped at her pokémon, Bunny said, "It's alright, don't worry!" But she was quite impressed with how well-trained the pokémon was so early in what she assumed was Andrea's journey. "He seems to be very respectful," she hummed with respect. Diana didn't seem too bothered and continued swimming, moving towards the legs of her trainer and watching Andrea with curiosity.
Bunny only giggled more when she heard the Meowth's name. "Wow, seriously? I have a Stunky with the same name!" After a couple more snickers, she got her breath and nodded to the Meowth. "But it's nice to meet you, Salem. This is Diana, by the way," she motioned to her Dratini, who made a squeal of joy and welcome to the other two.
And then she found herself washed in surprised. Another Coordinator! For whatever reason, Bunny assumed Andrea was a trainer fighting to rise in the ranks of the Pokémon League. But somehow, it made sense. She definitely radiated a sense of "tough" and "cool" to her.
"Oh my gosh, really?" Bunny began to laugh as Andrea sat by her, eagerly scooting closer just a bit. "I'm a Coordinator, too! But I'm more interested in Beauty and Cute contests," she said between giggles. It was a wonder how the two were so coincidentally similar! Maybe they were meant to be friends, like destiny or something. She was definitely happy so have somebody to potentially talk to and cheer on for the rest of her journey. They'd probably see each other at contests, too!
not the typical or simple type, either. but the one that caused your gaze to linger and your heart to drum pleasantly against your rib cage. despite andrea having encountered her only moments ago, her initial bout of longing only enhanced in a dramatic fashion.
"heh."
grinning smugly, her ego was only stroked at bunny's response.
"'course babe. and 'mm not surprised. yer lookin' mighty beautiful. and yer a good amount 'o cute as well. and so is yer pokemon. and, ya know what? i gotta stunky, too. guess we got somethin' in common, princess."
andrea leaned closer, smelling strongly of wild flowers that you would pluck from the fields. her eyes were heavy, a glimmer of need there. casting aside the notion of personal space, she teasingly moved to press the tips of their noses together.
"meow?"
the normal-type scented the air, detecting the familiar pheromones associated with an interested mate. humans and pokemon weren't too different when it came to this particular trait. and his nose never failed him in situations such as these. casting his coordinator a curious look, he glanced at dratini, wondering if the dragon-type understood what was occurring.
"say," andrea began, pulling away slightly. "i can help ya train."
her arm moved to wrap around the brunette's waist gingerly, intending to pull the pretty girl closer.
"if ya want, i mean. i'd love ta spend time with a gal like ya, if you'll have me."

❞
Bunny giggled, her blush arising a little bit more as she looked the other girl over. She was pretty, well, pretty — or at least she thought so. Attractive, even. Bunny didn't use the word "hot" to convey people's looks very often, but if she was a little under the influence she'd probably let it slip out that Andrea had a very... er... fiery complexion. And personality. And body. B-but that was besides the point, right? She looked back into the black-haired beauty's eyes and didn't even realize just how hot her cheeks were.
She giggled again. What was she, just a big bag of bubbles or something? Her stomach felt like it was fluttering full of Butterfree. Bunny hadn't felt this was since she opened her first pokéball and found Diana had been inside it. And although that was relatively recent, it still felt so foreign. Why was she like this? And more so, why was she enjoying the feeling so much?
"You're pretty cute yourself," she said quietly with a small smile, turning to Diana but still giving glances to Andrea here or there. "Not to mention suave. Has somebody had practice?" She snickered a little at her joke. Surely a girl as charming as this had had plenty of romantic (or flirty, at the very least) encounters? "And that really is a coincidence," she said, kicking her feet in the water idly. "Maybe we were meant to meet? O-or something." She looked to Andrea now, only to find the girl leaning in closer and closer... until their noses touched. Bunny stared at the girl's deep blue eyes for a good few seconds before turning away. Now she felt her blush, it was all over her face and ears and neck. Why did she say that? That was so dumb, and so cliche! Way to go, Bun, you totally just ruined it with this really cute girl that you might have a little bit of a crush on. Wait, why do you have a crush?! You just met!
Bunny quieted herself for a minute to keep herself from becoming a stuttering mess. Diana cocked her head to the side, looking between the two coordinators with absolutely no clue what was going on. But when she looked to Salem she saw him also with a curious faze, but he seemed to recognize what was going on. The Dratini glided to the bank and mumbled a questioning "Tini?" for him to possibly explain.
Bunny looked back to Andrea as she pulled away. It was instinct, really. She didn't like the other girl being farther away (despite them still being quite close together relatively). Her eyebrows were furrowed until Andrea explained that she might be able to help Bunny with her training, and Bunny with hers.
She felt her blush slowly recede, the blood flowing back into the other parts of her body. "Oh, I'd really like that," she said genuinely. Bunny didn't notice the hand moving behind her until it clasped onto her ribcage tenderly, pulling her closer to Andrea. There it was again. She doubted she'd ever be able to talk to this girl without a blush on her face. Damn Lillipup love.
"I-I'd really-y like that too-o-o," she stuttered out, heart thumping wildly in her chest as she stared into Andrea's intimate eyes and the coordinator's purred words caressed her ears.

"meow."
salem looked to the dratini, his face revealing a subtle show of surprise. but he was a patient individual, and understood that this dragon was a lab-raised specimen. pokemon raised by human hands were often made ignorant due to the lack of exposure.
"meow," he sighed.
he went about explaining human attraction - which was similar to pokemon attraction. salem spoke of how andrea appeared to be the more interested party, and sought out a potential mate's attentions through touch and words. the cat instructed the dragon to inhale, and take note of their scents. there was a hint of lust, coupled by a pheromone humans tend to exude from their pores when they located anyone of interest.
"oh, babe," andrea breathed. "'mm happy ta hear that. how 'bout we start with the trainin' portion, yeah?"
the fellow coordinator ran a single finger through those beautiful locks of brown, relishing how soft they felt.
"get yer team ready. and i'll get mine, okay?"
she stood, snapping her fingers. salem immediately returned to her side.
"whenever yer ready, tell me. i'll be over there, princess, when ya figure out how ya wanna start off."
trotting an adequate distance away from the female, andrea proceeded to tinker with her belt. she adjusted the pokeballs that had been attached to her belt, pursing her lips.

Diana cocked her head to the side as the Meowth briefly explained human attraction, both romantic and sexual. She really had no idea about this — obviously she knew about pokémon attraction and reproduction and the like as a sort of instinct, but for whatever reason she never thought of her trainer having the same thing. Diana sniffed a couple times, and then it made sense — there was a sort of scent in the air that she couldn't really place as what, but it was definitely different and it definitely didn't smell like Bunny. So it could only be Andrea's "mate" scent. But there was something else there, too, and as Diana continued to smell the air around her she could only conclude that it was her trainer's own mate scent, though much less powerful than Andrea's and probably just now, well, happening. Or something. She didn't really know how it worked. But she appreciated the explanation regardless.
Bunny looked at Andrea with wide eyes, simply accepting everything that was going on around her and not really paying attention to anything else. As the girl breathed her words onto her cheeks, Bunny felt them flush the lightest shade of peach. "O-okay," she mumbled quietly, probably not even loud enough for Andrea to hear as the other Coordinator brushed lightly through her long hair with a single finger.
Bunny nodded deftly, turning back to her bag. She picked it up carefully, touching the egg that was nestled there and smiling faintly. It was wrapped up with soft, warm blankets and basking slightly in the sun, as she had the top of her bag open for it to rest. Separating the blankets a little, she decided to let the egg breathe and pulled it out of her bag completely so it could relish in the sunlight without suffocating.
Pulling out her pokéballs, Bunny then stood up and moved a good ten or so paces away from where she had sat to give the pokémon room to battle. Andrea had sent out Salem, who looked like a relatively strong pokémon compared to the rest of Bunny's team. Squinting slightly in thought, Bunny quickly decided on which of her pokémon she was going to send out.
"Let's go, Dolly." The pokéball twirled in the air for a moment before shining brightly as a little fire-hearted Dedenne popped out, spinning and a pointing in the Meowth's direction, all tied together with Dolly's signature wink and smirk. Bunny giggled a little, only somewhat embarrassed. "She's ready for a Contest, as you can tell...." She said, rubbing the back of her head. Dolly looked to her with a roll of her eyes, quickly returning to her position and adding a swish of her tail for effect.
Bunny didn't really think much after that — she went into battle mode and every sort of unneeded thought disappeared due to her natural instinct to focus on the battle. She was going first. "Use Thunder Shock, and add some flair!"
Dolly nodded, now grinning, leaping high into the air with a couple of flips and twisting just as she hit her apex, sending a large wave of electric shocks towards Salem. Bunny shrugged mentally to herself. Well, that did the trick.
Dolly — Lvl. 09 dolly used tail whip! dolly used thunder shock!
as the battle was just about to start, the meowth slowly rose to settle upon his back paws. the furry creature's tail twitched as he maintained a certain level up balance, eyes gleaming as he prepped himself for action. the battle started off with a small show and the playful wiggle of the mouse's tail - the meowth's furry lips twitching in amusement as he observed. andrea allowed for a chuckle to slip out of her as she pulled out her own pokedex and analyzed the plump pokemon.
"dedenne, the antenna pokémon. dedenne communicates long distance with other dedenne by sending radio waves through its antenna-like whiskers."
"a fairy?"
had she ever fought a fairy?
wary, she looked to her normal-type and proceeded to release a 'tch'.
"salem! take it!
the shock ran throughout his system, causing the coordinator's pokemon to visibly cringe and quiver. shaking his head and blinking rapidly as the pain had passed, the feline raised his gaze toward the electric-type.
"meowth...."
"scratch! and then use fake out!"
the meowth lunged forward, lashing out with his unsheathed claws with the intent to harm the smaller creature. this was followed by a sudden clapping of his paws, a sizable shockwave of air following the action.

Bunny felt any and all flustered feelings melt away as the battle began. This was her "zone," it was what made everything troublesome fade away. She didn't have to worry about how she was acting or the world around her, just the battle. It was kind of relaxing, despite being pretty suspenseful at points.
Salem had taken her hits with little to no hesitance, smirking a little as she saw Dolly's attacks hit him spot-on. Her aim was improving every day.
It wasn't long after the Dedenne's Thunder Shock did Andrea command her pokémon to strike back — and so it did. Salem dashed forward with a Scratch attack, slashing against Dolly's small frame and causing the rodent-like pokémon to shriek involuntarily. But Dolly quickly regained herself, bracing the shockwave with a squint of her eyes. She grimaced.
Bunny didn't have to think much before she knew what her next move was going to be. "Dolly, tackle him hard!" But the Dedenne didn't move. Instead, Dolly flinched, glancing worriedly to her trainer and then back to Salem.
In a rush, Bunny called out, "Try to pin him, then use Thunder Shock again!"
By what she could tell, the two pokémon were nearly equal in power for the most part. But Dolly didn't have too many moves. She looked at her pokémon, idly chewing her bottom lip. Without much variety, Andrea might begin to notice a pattern and learn how to use it to her advantage.
She looked up to the other girl, starting to grin. This was probably the easiest way for Bunny to become more comfortable and relaxed around Andrea, to be honest — she got to see her at her most focused, and she didn't have to worry about her appearance or what to say. But she made sure not to stare long enough, returning her eyes to the battle. Didn't want to lose focus, no matter how cute the other girl looked with that determined expression.

andrea grinned as the electric-type visibly flinched, likely startled by the surprising force behind the attack. the thunder shock had caused the meowth to stumble, grimace forming as he attempted to resist the strike that could possibly cripple him. he shook his head, his narrowed gaze once again resettling upon the pudgy mouse.
"meowth," he growled.
he stepped forward, his lips parting to reveal curved canines as he readied himself for yet another strike against the rodent.
"ready, boy?"
"meow..."
a low hiss escaped him.
"bite!"
the pokemon lunged forward, enhancing his speed as he settled himself onto all fours and pounced. his predatory instinct took over as he moved to chomp down onto the mouse. he repeated this action without having to be told, andrea only looking on curiously as a low growl escaped the eager feline. she absently noted that it would be best to remain aware of her pokemon's behavior whenever they indulged in combat. they were only somewhat domesticated, after all.

Bunny bit her lip as the Meowth stumbled from the Thundershock. That was at least working in her favor, but then —
Salem careened forward, claws still unsheathed and teeth bared as he aimed for a bite. Dolly cried out in pain as the Meowth's fangs dug into her skin, causing a decent amount of damage. Bunny winced at her Dedenne's scream, disliking her pokemon to be in any pain.
But luckily, Dolly had a game plan. She wriggled just out of reach of Salem's jaws before he attacked again, effectively dodging and getting a good few paces away. "Thunder Shock!" Bunny called to her, Dolly following so quickly it was like she had already had that idea in mind. The small electric pokemon unleashed two large waves of lightning at Salem again, hoping that they would hit their mark.
"You're doing pretty well," Bunny commented as she watched the two battle, glancing up to Andrea's face. "Just how often do you train? It seems like a lot, you already have a connection with your pokemon." She wanted to strike a conversation, finding a regular old battle pretty boring when she could be talking to someone so cute. "We should do this more often!"

her smile was wiped off her face as she observed her meowth fall to the series of thundershocks. the pokemon had froze, eyes widened significantly after he felt the electricity course throughout him. the double dose resulted in him fainting shortly afterward, salem now sprawled on the ground as he released a sigh and surrendered to unconsciousness.
"alrightie, princess. ya got some moxie, yeah?"
andrea nodded her approval.
"alrightie. let's see what ya can handle next."
the girl produced a pokeball, a smug look on her face before she tossed it into battle.

As the Meowth fainted, Bunny chided with glee. Talk about a first impression! Now this cute girl would know she meant business, yeah? Calling out to her pokemon, Bunny exclaimed her joy as she praised Dolly ecstatically. The Dedenne nodded, crossing her arms with a smug smirk.
But then they saw Andrea's next pokemon, and the grins were wiped off their faces.
That Absol looked tough. Bunny stared at it, open-mouthed as she had her pokedex analyze the pokemon and copy its data. Not only did it seem well-trained, but just by looking at it she could discern that he had the level advantage compared to Dolly.
The Dedenne flew into action just as the Absol released his first attack, dodging the Ice Beam with ease. But the second hit her, and hit her hard — she went flying across the grass and nearly into the pond water where Diana was residing. But she stood back up, breathing heavily and glaring at the Absol with half-shut eyes. Already exhausted, she was relatively sure this was a portion of the battle she couldn't win. But what could she do?
Lose with style.
"Thunder Shock!"
Dolly unleashed a barrage of electricity, aimed at the Absol's lean body and hoped wildly that they would hit target. Dolly still pointed, winking one swollen eye and smirking just the smallest bit. Gotta look good before you've been beat, right?
