Maybe it was time to turn back. They were fast (fast in the terms of a group of bugs) approaching the next town; what would they do when they got there though? She hadn't planned this far ahead... but this had been her idea, she couldn't turn back now! Or admit that this possibly wasn't the best idea but... that wurmple said it'd be okay! Plus, she was the toughest bug around. She'd sort out any problems, yeah!
Y-Yeah... yeah...
A wild scatterbug has appeared!
Wurmple ♂ lv.6

Like hell he'd hang around that dingy, dark forest any longer! When his friend - the scatterbug - had suggested they hiked on outta there, it'd been sweet muuusic to his ears~ No one could stop them now! He'd find a nice tree, by the water (he'd heard there was a lake near here) and he'd evolve into a mean and prickly cascoon (although... he'd rather evolve into a silcoon, no lie, but shhh) while he slowly developed into his final evolution. He'd have his first fly over the water and it'd be perfect~

She had stopped at Oldale in the early morning hours having just gotten there no thanks to the young man who’d started trouble with her. Her small pouty lips pulled down into a little frown and she snuggle farther down on Cody, earning a mild huff from the tauros as he shifted to accommodate her. She hadn’t gotten much sleep, the towns people watched her closely and no doubt wondered what a little girl was doing out on her own. She had come to expect it, especially since usually she’d be accompanied by one of the older Ranger’s whenever she went out. However, she had Cody now and he would always be enough for her. That’s why she’d left the town only a little while after, unwilling to have someone call the Rangers in some misguided attempt to help. She wanted to at least try to make it on her own without anyone trying to help her or get in her way. They always told her how grown she was but when the time came they still considered her a child. They needed to pick one.
Crescentia was startled from her musings when Cody suddenly stopped, causing her to reach out for his horns to steady herself. Customarily he froze, going as still as possible so that he wouldn’t toss his head accidentally and throw her off. The first time she’d done it when she’d first gotten him hadn’t ended well but she’d trooped through it to his amazement and got on him again. Now it was almost instinctual for him to freeze when those tiny hands grabbed onto his horns. Once she was steady, Zenzie leaned forward and noticed what had caused him to stop and she blinked at the site of the two bug pokemon. She took a moment before slipping off of her large tauros, taking a few steps forward before bending down and offering a tentative smile. The only sign of emotion that she’d allowed past her stoic mask for days since leaving the Academy. “What are you two doing out in the open? Don’t you know it’s dangerous?” What if a pidgey or some other bird pokemon came for them??
When the small human approached them with her huge lumbering pokémon, the scatterbug leapt to attention, warily defensive. Y-Yeah! It was dangerous out here; she knew that much already!
The scatterbug glanced to her company (who had suddenly got quiet) and felt the overwhelming urge to protect him.
"Sca!" She peeped loudly before spitting out silky strings at the girl's legs.
Scatterbug used string shot on Crescentia's legs!

....oh. A-A human!
The wurmple, a proud and needlessly boastful bug, fell silent next to his friend. What did this human want? He glanced at her large beast of a pokémon, who had hooves capable of squashing them without breaking a sweat and... gulped.
Maybe they were going to be breakfast for someone.

The pokemon seemed worried…or perhaps scared of her? Zenzie frowned at that particular thought not liking the idea of being scary to pokemon. Then again she supposed since she was bigger that it must be scary because bigger adults were definitely scary to her when they loomed over her. However, wasn’t that why she’d crouched down to try and seem smaller?? So that she wouldn’t scare them but that obviously wasn’t going over well and she glanced at Cody in hoped the large pokemon would be able to help but he simply huffed softly at her and gave her an expectant look. Her tauros wanted to leave and let the bug’s be that was clear but she frowned at him considering it was him that had stopped upon noticing them in the first place.
She was just about to pull out her stylus in hopes of perhaps befriending them and calming the two bug types down so they’d see she wasn’t so scary when suddenly something was wrapping around her legs. She let out a soft half cry/half choke as she stumbled, falling on her rump and blinking in shock as she looked at the stuff wrapped around her legs. Cody, however, felt a rush of protective anger in defense of his harmless human and let out a loud bellow before charging the one that had attacked first in order to tackle it. Unthinkingly, he turned on the other bug pokemon and raged at it as well, unable to stop himself as he got himself started.
Now she'd really set the human's pokémon off but, refusing to back down, the scatterbug quickly recovered. Undaunted by the beast's hulking size, the small bug charged over to it and went to ram into his side! Take that! That's what he got for hurting her friend!
"Sca!"

Nonono... why was he being attacked? He hadn't done anything! The skittish wurmple retreated a safe distance away and, like the coward he was, shot poisonous barbs from afar.
Wurmple is hit by rage! Wurmple used poison sting!

[break][break]Zenzie watched in stunned silence as her Tauros worked himself into a right rage, attacking both bug pokemon when only one had startled her and attacked. She winced weakly at that, knowing once her Tauros got started it was impossible to cool him down and at the moment she supposed she’d need his rage anyway. She knew that particular attack got stronger anyway the more it was used, at least that was what she was told. Huffing lightly she winced and stood up unsteadily as she tried to get the icky stuff off her legs, Cody bellowing angrily and tossing his head aggressively. His anger growing the more he thought of his little human getting attacked again by these pokemon seeing as they’d already shown they’d be more than willing to do so anyway when she showed nothing but worry for their safety. Another harsh gust of air blew from his nostrils and he pawed at the ground violently, sharp hooves digging grooves into the ground as he did so. [break][break] The first attack hit him head on and he stumbled at getting hit by the tackle, turning and bellowing a challenge at the scatterbug to try it again. Just as he was getting ready to charge the sting of something on his hide made him whirl around as he shook it off, his vision slowly tunneling and turning red as his anger got worse. He could vaguely hear Zenzie in the background murmuring comfortingly and it helped, knowing that she was safe but first he had a few disrespectful pokemon to put in place. Zenzie felt bad but she knew he had to exert his rage somehow so she simply gave the orders the way they told her to at the Academy. “Cody, Rage double time!” His body shook gladly and without waiting he charged at both bugs, whirling on the scatterbug and setting loose his Rage on it. Horns and hooves striking out at the pokemon before whirling around and going after it in the same manner.
The tauros was just getting more and more powerful... and she didn't understand why! Confused and not realizing her attacks just fueled the power behind the pokémon's rage, she bounced after the tauros again. She needed to look after her friend!
Scatterbug was hit by rage! Scatterbug used tackle! Scatterbug used tackle!

That rage attack, boosted by the tauros' pure anger, was too strong of an attack for him to manage. After receiving just that hit more, the weaker wurmple fell over, unconscious, and filled with regret.
Maybe... this adventure idea hadn't been very wise...
Wurmple was hit by rage! Wurmple fainted! Cody gains two levels! Capture the fainted wurmple?

[break][break]Her tauros seemed to be doing better the more he allowed his rage to be used, not exactly calming down but getting some of his temper under control and not just thrashing about. Zenzie’s murmured words of comfort finally getting through to him and ending his rage attacks just as one of the bugs fainted and there was a minute sense of regret that Cody had allowed himself to go so far but the thought of his little human in danger tended to do that to him. It was unfortunate but Cody had come to terms with what happened just as soon as he’d seen the pokemon fall, especially since he was being attacked again and twice this time. The tauros let out a low below as the first attack hit before he heard Crescentia yell for him to dodge the second one and dodge he did. Not hesitating for a second as his large form leaped out of the way, sharp hooves cutting into the earth as he did so. It was surprisingly graceful for something as bulky as him but he managed it just in turn to miss the second tackle aimed his way. [break][break] Crescentia glanced at the fallen Wurmple and decided she’d catch it later, far more focused on the still attacking scatterbug and wanting it to stop. Noticing Cody seemed to be over his rage and was once again thinking clearly. The petite female gave her order’s firmly hoping it would end this battle once and for all. She could apologize to the two bug pokemon later…perhaps when she wasn’t feeling so guilty about this. “Cody, tackle attack twice!” The tauros let out a low bellow of agreement and charged the scatterbug, throwing his whole body way and momentum into the tackle before taking a few steps back and charging again to tackle the bug type. His massive frame barreling towards the bug with as much strength as he could muster.
This tauros was too much for her... what'd she been thinking when she thought she'd be able to protect them from it? The young bug fainted easily after a single tackle from the beast, the last bit of energy knocked right out of her.
Scatterbug was hit by tackle! Scatterbug fainted! Cody gains two levels! Capture the fainted scatterbug?

It was over…
The thread was neutralized and Zenzie was safe. That knowledge was the only thing that finally settled the tauros and he eased back with a harsh flare of his nose. Pawing at the ground for a moment before swinging his head to look over at his human, the little girl was gazing at the pokemon with a quiet thoughtfulness the tauros knew all too well. However, instead of entertaining it or calling it to question he simply began snuffling around her. Trying to catch any scent of distress or pain from the attack scent to her but she seemed to be doing fun if her giggles and demands for him to stop were anything to go by.
It eased the Tauros a bit to know she was okay and that nothing had happened to her while in his care. It made him take a few steps back and look at his handiwork, both fainted pokemon still unstirring in front of them and this time Zenzie merely sighed. Taking out two empty pokeballs from her side pack and activating the capsules, watching as they grew bigger before a red light shot out from each and engulfed the two bug types. She waited a moment before nodding her head in satisfaction, the pokemon caught and with that in mind she realized she had two new friends. A small almost unnoticeable smile curled his lips and made her bull companion relax completely, knowing something good came out of this. After a moment though Zenzie returned to him, climbing back up and deciding it’d be best to continue their journey perhaps.
