Alright so, this wasn't exactly what Quinn had in mind. She stared down at the blob of purple at her feet, who seemed oddly happy to be with her for some reason. At first, she didn't even know where the thing's eyes were until the Goomy blinked, and Quinn had to admit it freaked her out a bit. She thought the Goomy's eyes were bigger than that. "Okay... I'm calling you Goober. It feels appropriate." Quinn said. Goober simply stuck his tongue out happily and nodded. She wasn't too sure if the Pokemon was supposed to be acting like a canine or not, but she rolled with it.
They hadn't even gotten ten feet into Route 101 and Quinn was already questioning the Goomy's intelligence. The Pokemon bolted on ahead, a good five feet in front of her, and wasn't paying attention to the path in front of it. She groaned, running a hand over her face in frustration. "This is gonna be a long route." Goober was completely oblivious to Quinn's frustration and simply continued to rush forward without a care. And this was supposed to be Quinn's partner for the time being? She already missed all the water Pokemon back at aqua's base.t cream, so doppio coffee steamed, plunger pot, cortado, fair trade that, arabica carajillo organic cup medium lungo.

He didn't feeling like doing anything today... he'd digested an old soda can... an empty carrier bag... a used potion... trash that the other newbie trainers had left behind as they raced to the next town and now he was sated and sleepy. Ready for a nap to sleep all that food off.
He was vaguely aware of the goomy that tore past him as he slowly inched along the side of the dirt track but he didn't pay her any attention. She was too energetic for him to even want to pay attention. Instead the gulpin continued on, resisting the urge to yawn.
[attr="class","quinnscroll"]Goober has rushed right past the Gulpin, but the Pokemon didn't go unnoticed by Quinn. She stopped in her tracks and simply stared down at the Gulpin, who didn't seem to give one fuck about Goober being... well, Goober. "Goober, get back here!" Quinn yelled. The Goomy took a moment to pause and turn around, sticking its tongue out and rushing back over to Quinn. She honestly couldn't believe that this thing was a Dragon type. Wasn't a Dragon type supposed to be like, fearsome or something?
Once Goober calmed herself down, Quinn pointed at the Gulpin. "Alright Goober, time to prove yourself here." She said. "Time for your first battle. Let's just start out with a Bubble, then Tackle." Quinn had to be honest, she wasn't sure if Goober was able to take the Gulpin or not. If she wasn't able to take the smaller blob, then Quinn had a long road of training ahead of her.
Goober nodded and scuttled back over to the Gulpin. She took a breath and sent a flurry of bubbles at the Gulpin. And following behind the bubbles, Goober tried to Tackle the Gulpin away.
Noooo... why were they attacking him? He was just minding his own business... looking for a place to nap... he was pacific and too tired for this.
The gulpin gave a pained whine as the slimy dragon's attacks reached him and he rolled away a little. What did he do? Attack back? But... that was so violent... and required a lot of energy...
As he thought aimlessly, the gulpin yawned widely at the goomy, and slowly inched his way closer to her.
Gulpin was hit by bubble! Gulpin was hit by tackle! Gulpin used yawn!
[attr="class","quinnscroll"] It appeared as though the Gulpin didn't want to fight. It lazily turned around when the attacks hit, trying to entice Goober into sleep. "Dodge that!" Quinn cried out. The Goomy was able to react in time, dodging the Yawn and avoiding falling asleep for the meantime. Good, good. It seemed that Goober was obedient, for the most part anyway. She still had issues getting the Goomy to listen out of battle, but this was a good start.
"Goober, attack with Tackle!" Quinn commanded. The Goomy nodded and dashed forward, attempting to Tackle the Gulpin. Although, Goober assumed this would be easy. The Gulpin didn't seem to want to move very much.
There were really not going to give him a choice, were they? The gulpin sighed as the goomy's tackle caused him to roll away... ouch, that one had hurt too. If they wanted a fight... he supposed he could make a bit of an effort.
"Pinnn..." He attempted to snarl, it coming out very half-heartedly. He ventured over to the goomy and jumped up into the air, only about a foot or so, and went to land on the dragon.
[attr="class","quinnscroll"] Quinn was getting rather irritated that the Gulpin wasn't taking this battle seriously. She pouted slightly and huffed. "Well gee, if you're not gonna take this seriously then I guess we'--" She cut herself off when the Gulpin finally decided to fight back. It made its way over to Goober, jumping slightly and then Pounding itself down. Goober cried out as she was basically body slammed into the ground, squirming from underneath the Gulpin until she freed herself.
"There we go, that's better." Quinn said, raising a brow and grinning slightly. "Goober, tackle it twice again." She commanded. The Goomy huffed and narrowed her eyes, dashing forward to try and Tackle the Gulpin once. Then again, repeating the same technique.
The drowsy gulpin made no move whatsoever to put himself out of harm's way. He was tired and, now, in pain. Dodging required energy that he simply didn't have and he received the brunt of both tackle attacks. One hit him in a particularly sore spot which he'd left vulnerable to attack and, unable to move out of the way in time, it sent him rolling away.
Still confused as to why he'd been assailed so suddenly and without provocation, he gave the trainer and dragon an openly questioning look as he steadily appeared to melt into the ground. Unable and even unwilling to continue, he didn't resist when darkness crept over his vision.
Gulpin was hit by tackle! Critical hit! Gulpin was hit by tackle! Gulpin fainted! Capture?
