The new trainer was ready to take his first steps into Route 101. Emile couldn't wait to have his first battle and catch a few new Pokemon. With each step he took, the more excited he got. 'I wonder what Pokemon are here.' The teenager thought with a smile he couldn't wipe off his face.
From what he saw on the way here, Hoenn was quite different in comparison to Unova. He was used to seeing big cities and towns, while here he saw more nature. Was he going to miss Unova? Sure. He had plenty of friends over there, and the city he lived in was bustling with several lively people. But he preferred the beautiful nature to overcrowded cities any day.
Emile's train of thought was interrupted upon him tripping over a root. Ouch. Shortly after his fall the young man got back up on his feet and glanced around, hoping that nobody was there. Coast seemed clear. He brushed the dirt and grass off his clothes before continuing down the path.
it was an embarrassing small one. but, one day. she'd be the most fearsome predator there ever was! a bold female who could hunt and live all on her own! and she would do it all by herself!
"litt!"
she pounced upon a rock, growling softly as she pretended it was a juicy stantler or even a scrawny deerling. a pity it wasn't. she was terribly hungry.
"lit!"
taking notice to the human whose back was now to her, she proceeded to stalk him. her figure hunched before she pounced toward his shoe - tiny claws unsheathing themselves as she moved to playfully swipe at the strings and the material of his clothing.
a wild litleo has appeared! the wild litleo attacked trainer emile's shoe! the horror!
Whoa! That was rather unexpected. He was just minding his own business and a Litleo decided to attack his shoes. Of course, he didn't have much of a problem with it. Then he noticed that the cub had her claws unsheathed. Nope, not cool. In a minor panic he stumbled back and let his Riolu out of the pokeball which contained it.
"Uh, use quick attack Riolu!" He said hesitantly. Eh, maybe he should have waited before calling out an attack. Then again, it was normal to panic when a Pokemon was playing by your ankles with claws unsheathed, right? That's what he told himself at least. He didn't want to get scratched up at the start of his journey. Or at all, really.
her play was interrupted by the swift blow, and she tumbled backward with a pained yowl. she struggled to right herself, a look of hurt flashing across her features as she realized she had landed incorrectly on a paw. litleo attempted to rest upon it, but it resulted in a low growl of agony. it would heal, it wasn't broken - but it hurt.
"lit...."
instead of focusing on the battle, she focused on licking her own wound, attempting to sooth the dull throbbing through a series of swift licks.
the wild litleo was hit by quick attack! the wild litleo is nursing her wound!
Emile couldn't help but to flinch upon seeing his Riolu attack the Litleo. Okay, maybe he acted too rashly. The poor thing just wanted to play. The teenager let out a sigh before approaching the injured Litleo and crouching down in front of her. "Sorry 'bout that." The teenager apologized with a weak smile. His hand reached out to pet the top of the Litleo's head, just hoping that she wouldn't lash out at him.
He was so sure he was ready to start his adventure. But now? He could barely stand the sight of an injured Pokemon. 'I just have to get used to this, that's all.' Emile tried to reassure himself. He didn't want to quit already just because he couldn't handle a battle. No, he had to get used to this. He wanted to show his dad he could be as good as him someday.
the litleo blinked in response to the boy approaching. his voice was soft as he apologized, and the lioness was reminded of her mother's soft purr. she rumbled softly in response, nuzzling at his hand. even if his pokemon had struck her, she quickly ignored the offense in favor of examining the odd boy. he smelled awfully strange. not terrible. just different.
"litt," she purred.
her attention shifted toward a leaf that had fluttered by, and she limped toward it, batting at the thing with her uninjured paw.
the wild litleo has forgiven trainer emile! the wild litleo has become distracted! move on or continue interaction?
Was she forgiving him? He certainly hoped so. The small smile on his face grew slightly as a barely audible 'good' came from the boy. His amber-brown gaze followed the Lion Cub Pokemon as she limped off towards a leaf. He had to admit, she was awfully cute. Actually, who could deny the fact that the Litleo was adorable?
Juno eventually got bored and leaned against a nearby tree. He thought he was finally going to battle too. The Fighting-Type then looked up at the leaves that sprouted from the tree. He began to climb the tree as an idea popped into his head. The Riolu called out to the Litleo, suggesting that they climb they climb the tree.
despite her injury, the litleo enjoyed their play. she was a bit sluggish, but she remained eager to partake in the fun. the young pokemon joined the two. and, after a while, she felt herself grow attached to the boy and his companion. they were nicer than the wild pokemon who typically wandered about. as she realized that they would soon leave, she attempted to convince them of her desire to stay with them.
"lit!"
she rubbed herself against the male human, purring noisily as she attempted to convey her message.
the wild litleo played with trainer emile! the wild litleo would like to go with trainer emile!
After Riolu and Litleo had finished playing, the new trainer was just about to leave for Oldale Town when the Lion Cub Pokemon distracted him. The Litleo purred loudly as she rubbed against the trainer. The boy chuckled as began to pet the feline in return. Adorable.
Was she trying to convince him to let her tag along? Emile wasn't entirely sure. "Hold on just a sec." The boy muttered as he reached inside his messenger bag for something. Seconds later he pulled a pokeball out of the bag, which he held out in front of the wild Pokemon. "Wanna come with me?"
she nodded eagerly, wanting nothing more. litleo had some idea of how the capsule worked, and playfully bopped the trigger mechanism with her uninjured paw. it immediately absorbed her inside, and the capsule quivered slightly before growing still.
there would be plenty of fun to be had!
she couldn't wait!
the wild litleo has agreed to go along with trainer emile! trainer emile has captured a wild litleo! continue?
The smile on his face evolved into a grin when he heard the sound. His very first capture. His heart was racing with excitement. What other Pokemon would he encounter on his journey, he wondered.
"Ri! Rio!" Juno suddenly began growling at a nearby bush that began rustling. Emile quickly turned to face the shaking shrub, anticipating what would pop out of the bush. Maybe now he was more prepared to battle. That's what he liked to think. In reality, it'd probably take a bit longer to get used to it. However, he didn't think that was the case.
he trotted down the rugged pathway, intending to reach a nearby field that offered a plethora of delectable grasses. mareep had been traveling all day, and was very worn down by the passage of time. but he remained determined, his grumbling belly only urging him onward. likely when the moon had settled within the sky above was when he would reach this particular area.
"mareep?"
he noticed the boy, pausing briefly and hesitating to pass him by. humans were dangerous, after all.
A Mareep? How adorable. Mareep was one of his favorite Pokemon when he was a little kid. Then again, he never really did grow out of his liking for the sheep-like Pokemon. He just hadn't been thinking about it as much. The sight of the Mareep was almost nostalgic in a way.
He wanted it. It looked so soft and cute. Emile put the pokeball containing his newly caught Litleo back in the messenger bag before he began to cautiously approach the Electric-Type. Poor thing looked tired, and the last thing he wanted to do was scare it.
It looked like it was starting to get dark, judging by the changing colors of the sky and the descending sun. Not good, nope. No way in hell was he going to stick around in the wild after dark. Right now he just wanted to quickly catch the Pokemon and get to the Pokemon Center in the next town.
the pokemon retreated a few steps, wary at first, but comforted by the simple fact that the boy was careful in his approach. he saw no malice in those eyes, nor detected predatory intent.
"marreep," he bleated, blinking.
he had been around humans before, and couldn't help but notice how young this one appeared be. mareep began to slowly approach until the two were close. he sniffed at the human, pressing his soft wool against him as he examined the boy.
a wild mareep appears to be examining trainer emile!
