"Scar, the point of this is not for you to eat whatever Pokemon you see, okay?" Basil said, eyeing the eight foot tall Gliscor with a narrowed gaze. Whenever there was wild Pokemon involved, it was because Scar went out on one of his little hunting escapades. The result? Several Pokemon got horrifically eaten. Scar was a sloppy eater and Basil was unfortunate enough to witness his starter wolf down a Vigoroth that decided that it wanted to make Scar its punching bag.
That poor, poor Vigoroth.
"So, can you fly around and see if you spot anything? I — ... I think I might just specialize in ground-types. I don't know; I just like them," the newbie trained continued. Nodding furiously with a wide, shark-toothed grin, the purple bat took to the skies. He made wide circles overhead, using his sharp eyesight and acute hearing to snuff out any nearby wild Pokemon. Surely, it wouldn't take long for Basil to run into something. With a sigh, the young man rubbed the side of his face and set towards searching the nearby surroundings.
OOC -- Requesting Bunnelby Ground-Types. Thank you to whomever picks this up!

the lopunny balanced her son in her arms, muttering to him to remain silent. after all, she was maneuvering through some rough and rocky terrain - and she did not intend to lose sight of him. her mate had located the ice-type's egg, and had advised that she accept him as her own. the normal-type did not mind this, for the sneasel adored her immensely. plus, she would eventually have another.
"lopunny..."
her mate, a surprisingly strong bunnelby, said he would be gathering a few berries someplace else.
"lo," she hummed.
instead of sticking to their nest, both mother and son moved about, with the lopunny wielding her height to her advantage. she sought out a few materials to decorate their home. after a moment, she detected a disturbing presence. there was something here.
there was something here!
spotting the flying predator, she released a startled noise, and swiftly moved. a pity she had ran directly into a human and fell onto her rear as a result.
"lo!"
shaking her head, she rubbed her forehead with her paws and released a quiet moan.
a wild lopunny appeared! pass them by and search for ground-types or interact with the pair?
he found himself falling from his adopted mother's arms. shaking his head, he stood and hurried to the lopunny's side. after proceeding to examine her closely, the sneasel exhaled as he realized she was perfectly fine. she was more confused than hurt at the moment. grinning in amusement at her tumble, he shifted his gaze up to take note of the fearsome predator above. he immediately grew wary, raising his claws threateningly as he stood in defense of his maternal figure.
"sneas!"
pass them by and search for ground-types or interact with the pair?
Searching for Pokemon was harder than Basil originally thought. At first, he thought that if he just walked around, then he was bound to run into some. However, the route, as of now, was unusually quiet. It was early in the morning though and Basil theorized that was the reason why not too many Pokemon were out and about yet. He liked traveling in the mornings to avoid trainer traffic and plus, it gave him most of the day to travel if need be.
Even from his altitude, Scar noticed two blips wandering about. Upon closer inspection, they were Pokemon, the very thing Basil sent him to look for! Ecstatic, Scar darted through the air, massive wings pushing his equally massive form forward with startling speed. He made a beeline straight towards Basil, expression wild. "Oh!" Jumping as the Lopunny ran into him, the dark-skinned male peered down at the normal-type Pokemon. Immediately, his interest peaked; he was so busy looking around for possible Pokemon hideouts that he didn't even notice the two Pokemon barreling towards him! "Are you okay? I'm sorry—" The Sneasel was the next to capture Basil's attention. Apparently, the partial dark-type wasn't too happy about something, evident by the brandished claws. "What's wrong—" It was too late. In a blur, Basil was blind-sided by Scar, sending both tumbling down towards the ground. "GAH!" Basil's cries were muffled underneath the giant, eight foot tall bat. Snickering, Scar peered down at his trapped trainer. "What was that for?!" the trainer complained, jacked up from the collision.
With a deep growl of acknowledgement, the Gliscor got off Basil, effortlessly picked him up, set him on his feet, brushed the dirt off of his clothes before gesturing towards the two wild Pokemon before him. "Oh. Right. Right. Well, you didn't have to tackle me to let me know about that," Basil quipped, looking back towards the two. "Are the ... both of you okay? I'm not here to hurt either of you or cause trouble honestly." He held his hands up in a pacifying gesture. "He's with me." Basil motioned towards Scar. "He won't hurt you two either; isn't that right?" Scar blinked and nodded his large head furiously. Yep! He wouldn't eat these two; he promised.
OOC -- Thank you very much, Yoyo. Choosing to interact with the two.
the female placed a gentle paw on her son's shoulder, reassuring him through touch before she looked to the human and his companion. lopunny had noticed his concern, and it comforted her immensely. moving to stand, she brushed herself off and settled her paws upon the roundness of her thighs as she offered up an apologetic grin.
"lopunny," she replied, alerting the human male that she was fine.
executing a swift bow of apology for running into him, she gestured for her son to situate himself into her arms.
hopping into his mother's arms, the sneasel peered curiously at the large pokemon. it looked positively fierce, and its claws were majorly wicked. hopefully he would appear as strong when he evolved.
"s-sneasel?"
truly fascinated, the young pokemon grinned widely, speaking rapidly as he praised the gliscor for its predatory features - such as its pointed teeth, its claws, and even its wings.
the wild sneasel appears to have taken a liking to gliscor!
Okay, Basil was already starting to like these two Pokemon.
Thankfully, the normal-type was fine and after she did a polite bow, a soft grin appeared on the trainer's face. He returned the motion, dipping forward in a masculine bow. He could've bowed like the Lopunny, but that would've been a little awkward, and he knew for a fact that Scar would've given him shit for it. Basil watched the two wild Pokemon interact with each other; his eyebrows lifted upward in mild shock. "Are you — are you his mother?" Basil asked the normal-type. He didn't know the specifics of Pokemon breeding (since he wasn't a breeder), but he believed that the offspring of two Pokemon was either the species of the mother or the father. It caught him off guard since the Sneasel didn't look anything like the Lopunny. "That's really good! I'm sure you're taking good care of him," the dark-skinned human continued, peering at the bipedal rabbit. "He looks healthy— ... Wait, he is a he, right?" He didn't want to get genders mixed up and Basil wasn't particularly skilled at determining a Pokemon's gender just from a simple look.
Scar's yellow eyes widened as the Sneasel chatted away with him. Wait, he wasn't scared? He didn't think that he was just some mindless, bloodthirsty monster who ate humans and Pokemon by the thousands? An extremely wide smile grew on the Gliscor's heavily scarred face; his pearly-white, shark-like teeth glistened in the morning sun. Then, he started talking with the Sneasel just as rapidly, giving him tips on training, how to upkeep an intimidating and fierce appearance, and how to instill fear in others at will with just the most subtle of movements and motions. Basil blinked; to him, it was clear that Scar and Sneasel really liked each other but he couldn't understand for the life of him what they were saying. It just sounded like they were just saying their names over and over again.
"Wow. It seems he really likes Scar here," Basil said, only using "he" if he got confirmation that the Sneasel was indeed male. "Well, that's a first; I don't think Scar has had a friend before, one that's a Pokemon at least."
the normal-type confirmed that her child was indeed male and that he was hers. she made a gesture, indicating that the sneasel possessed a lengthy head feather - one that visibly represented what gender he was. females possessed smaller feathers. settling comfortably at the human's side as they watched on as both sneasel and gliscor interacted, lopunny's eyes glimmered with warmth. it was nice to see her son socialize with another so well.
"lopunny," she sighed.
she placed a gentle paw on the human's arm, a smile forming.
the ice-type responded to the gliscor's advice very well. his own claws beginning to flex and the feathers adjusted to his rear wiggling with excitement. he paused briefly as he detected a distant noise. it was a fearsome cry. this typically signified that they needed to return. but the ice-type didn't want to. he looked to his mother, begging her to allow him to stay a little longer with the human and his pokemon.
Basil's eyes followed the normal-type's gesture. She was pointing out the long pink feather protruding out of her son's head. Basil initially didn't know the difference between male and female Sneasel, but now he knew what to look for. Some Pokemon were sexually dimorphic while others weren't. Thankfully, he had previous information about Scar and was able to figure out that he was male from that. A random thought passed through Basil's head. What if Scar was female instead of male? Basil's lips thinned and his eyes widened slightly.
Yeah, it was better not to think of that.
Sudden contact broke him out of his stupor. He looked down and noticed that the Lopunny had rested a single paw on his right arm. Her other paw rested on her chest, right where her heart was. "Mm?" It took a moment, but Basil was able to figure out what she was trying to say. A warm grin slid across his lips, and slowly, Basil placed his left hand over his heart, mirroring the Pokemon's motion. His head dipped in an acknowledging nod; the extension of friendship was accepted. However, something grabbed his attention. It seemed like a loud cry, a noise belonging to a Pokemon more than likely. "Huh?" The Sneasel started babbling away at his adoptive mother. Scar stopped halfway in his explanation about the easiest way to break someone's spinal cord. He picked up the noise too, and it concerned him in a curious sort of way. "What's wrong?" Basil asked Lopunny, a small frown curling across his mouth. "Did you hear that sound? What was that?"
now playing the part of the disobedient child, the pokemon crossed his arms, his words less than pleasant as it quickly turned cold. after all, he wasn't really a child anymore. he wanted to communicate with the human and his companion. and he hated that his father had to hide them away so often.
"sneas! sneasel snease!"
moving to boldly settle next to the gliscor, he crossed his arms and huffed - stubborn.
the wild sneasel still does not want to leave!
The Lopunny's reaction worried Basil. The widening of the eyes, the scowl etched into her face; something was up. The call he heard earlier only reinforced his suspicions. "What's —?" Before he could question more, the normal-type was already ushering her son to heed his father's call; they needed to go, and they needed to do it now.
However, Sneasel was having none of it. He had just made a new friend; the human was pretty cool in his eyes too, and he wasn't going to let his paranoid as fuck father ruin his social life. Like the rebellious child he was, the partial ice-type stood his ground, right beside his giant, eight foot tall buddy, and deliberately told his mother that he wasn't going to move an inch. Perplexed, Scar looked between the two family members before staring at Basil, brow arched. Confused, Basil shrugged. "Listen, I don't know what's going on, but if you two need to go or something, you can." He then ran a hand through his hair. "Or, if you want to stay, you can; there's nothing wrong with that of course." His brow creased in concern, eyes hovering over the brown n' blonde rabbit. "Are you sure everything's alright? Your son seems pretty upset."
she shifted her gaze, a nervous look causing her features to twist slightly as she glanced at the human. calming herself with a single breath, she crossed her arms and shifted her attention toward the horizon.
"lo..."
glancing at her son, she quickly realized he had become much too stubborn at this point of time to obey her command. there was little that could be done now.
the ice-type eyed his once distraught mother - and quickly realized that she had detected his father. a look of nervousness entered his gaze as he realized this, and he turned his head toward the source.
a male bunnelby stepped free from a clump of foliage. and despite his small size and rounded features - he appeared quite intimidating. his features darkened significantly as he leered at the human male. especially since he was settled so close to his family.
"bunnelby," he growled, his voice rough. "bunnel."
with his gaze shifting toward the gliscor, the bunny turned toward it and snarled, stepping closer with the intent of harming the tamed pokemon.
The argument didn't come to an end quickly enough. The Lopunny and Sneasel immediately hushed up, their eyes sliding towards the cause of their abrupt silence. A male Bunnelby stepped through the surrounding foilage. Despite the species' normally 'cutesy' appearance and disposition, this particular Bunnelby broke the mold. He was mean, intimidating and looked to have little patience whenever it came to matters that threatened his family's safety. Basil leaned back from the partial ground-type's heated glare, noticing the rabbit's rough tone. Then, he advanced on Scar with malicious intent and the eight foot tall Gliscor stood his ground. He growled and bared his rows of white, shark-like teeth in a snarl. Before the two angered Pokemon could start beating the shit out of each other, Basil stepped in.
"Wait!" Scar looked down at his trainer, slightly confused. "We don't want to fight." To further his point, Basil raised both of his hands up into the air as if he were surrendering. "We were just speaking with your family." Briefly, the dark-skinned male looked towards the Lopunny and Sneasel. "... You have a nice family. Your ... wife--" Wait, did Pokemon have wives? Oh well, it was close enough. "She's a very nice Pokemon. The same goes for your son; he even made a new friend." Basil pointed towards Scar for specificity. "I didn't mean to worry you. If you three need to go, you can; I won't stop you."
the lopunny stared at the kindly human. somewhat touched that he had decided to resort to peace instead of violence. a small look of pleasure formed on her face, her approval evident as she looked to her mate, reassuring him with her gaze that all was well.
the sneasel was prepping himself to view conflict. and was somewhat disappointed when this did not occur. but he also appeared to be impressed, glancing from his mother to his father. he was unable to predict what would occur, so he remained silent.
bunnelby cast the human male a look that appeared to be little more than a glare. he was a reasonable fellow, and retreated a step as he listened to the human carefully. barking in his family's direction after a short period of silent, he told them to stand off the side. bunnelby approached the male, and flexed his paw in a beckoning gesture.
There was no talking his way out of this. The Bunnelby wanted a fight, whether Basil liked it or not. Frowning, the dark-skinned trainer looked between the family, dark eyes darting from one Pokemon to the next. His gaze finally settled on Scar, and the Gliscor only nodded once. Slowly, the monolith of a bat stepped forward, sectioned yellow eyes zeroing in on the tough, partial ground-type. Was Scar expecting the fight to be easy? Of course, but Bunnelby clearly showed that he had no intentions of solving this matter peacefully.
So, Scar was happy to oblige him.
"Scar, wait! Wait! We don't have to do this—" Too late. With a powerful flap of his wings, the Gliscor lurched forward, a savage growl exiting his shark-toothed maw. White energy encased his eight foot tall form, streamlining him as he sped through the air in an unavoidable Aerial Ace. While it wasn't able to be dodged, it could be blocked, and Scar was curious to see if the roughneck Kalos Pokemon would be able to successfully defend against it. Off to the side, Basil sighed before running a hand through his shaggy hair nervously. "... I'm so sorry about this," he apologized to the Lopunny and Sneasel.
bunnelby appeared satisfied by the acceptance despite the worried looks his family cast in both his and the human's direction. the fierce companion that human possessed could easily kill him if it desired to. and bunnelby accepted that risk, completely.
"bunnel!
after the single strike had hit, the pokemon stumbled. already he felt as though he had been drastically weakened. but merely shook his head, ignored his pain, and casting his foe a fierce glare.
"bun!"
this was followed by an attempt at a physical assualt - with the bunny attempting to take the creature down.
the wild bunnelby was hit by aerial ace! the wild bunnelby used leer! the wild bunnelby used take down!
Well, shit. Things went from bad to worse. Now, Scar and the Bunnelby were set on beating the hell out of each other. Considering the Lairon incident back during the cave expeditions, Basil was legitimately worried that Scar would try to kill Bunnelby whatever chance he got. Then, the adopted Sneasel would be left without a father, and the Lopunny without a mate. That was the worst situation imaginable, and Basil wanted to avoid it at all costs.
The Gliscor smashed into the smaller creature with a tremendous amount of force, and with a shit-eating grin, the giant bat looped around through the air and was poised to smash into the rabbit again before he felt his defenses weaken. He couldn't explain what the cause of it was, but it didn't matter if he couldn't. Before he knew it, the Bunnelby slammed into him with an unrealistic amount of power, sending him spiraling through the air. The Sinnoh Pokemon was sent flying backwards for a good couple of meters before he stabilized himself with a sharp flare of his wings. Yellow eyes burning with fury and body aching with throbbing pain, Scar opened his shark toothed maw wide. Fire shrouded his teeth and with a fierce chomping motion, the Gliscor sent a fire-composed pair of disembodied jaws towards the Bunnelby, complete with rows upon rows of vicious, burning fangs, a prime example of a well-executed Fire Fang.
It didn't stop there. Scar followed behind his attack, this time ice covering his teeth. Whether or not the Fire Fang hit, Scar would attempt to grab the Bunnelby before lifting him up and CHOMPING on his entire body whole with an Ice Fang.
"Scar! Stop it! C'mon man!" Basil called from the sidelines, growing increasingly worried. Oh, this was bad.
