So this Is what she's given to start out with? A ditto? She couldn't say it was ugly, because it wasn't, it just seemed... Difficult. As if the journey from Lilycove to littleroot wasn't difficult enough, she was given this thing as her starter. Was professor birch on crack? How could she ever best anything when her pokemon transformed into the same damned thing. She was doomed.
The whole reason she left on this journey was because her parents pressured her to do something with her life instead of sit around reading and drawing all day. Her mother of course pressured her to become a coordinator like her and her father was all for her becoming a ranger. She couldn't take it anymore and left to be a trainer. Maybe shed decide one day if she wanted to do something else, but for now she figured shed do what her old friend did and become a trainer. Maybe shed seem him again one day. The thought made her blush, but when she came back to the real world, all she saw was her ditto smiling retardly up at her. She rolled her eyes and sighed, deciding that she had to accept her fate. She might as well name it.
"I think I'll name you Copycat...," very unoriginal for sure, but she didn't have many plans on keeping this thing in her team for long. Besides, all it did was copy others and their attacks. Shed always come out on the losing end with this thing, she was sure of it.

As Sylvester came strolling down Route 101, he could not help but feel overwhelmed with nostalgia. Looking down the trail, he was greeted by a familiar face—none other than his childhood friend. At least...he thought that was who they were. 'Well...only one way to be certain. Time to say hello to an old friend.'
Approaching them head-on, he did his best to sport an amused smile. He didn't want to look confused or perturbed, even though on the inside he was concerned about what she was doing here. "Harley?" He vocalized loud enough for it to be audible to the girl he had been approaching. "Is that you?" Waiting for an answer, he almost hoped that it wasn't her. But giving it a second though, he would be grateful to meet up with an old friend. He had begun to feel like he was meant to be alone in the world, and Harley would be a reminder that he had people in his life before Sylvester had decided to take up the grueling career of a pokemon trainer.
She was staring at the ditto still when a familiar voice called her name. At first she wondered who around here could possibly remember her name and then... duh. She watched wide eyed as he approached and smiled at him, waving. "Sylvester! It's me! I was hoping to find you, but I didn't think itd be this soon!" She grinned at the man, a slight blush still tinting her cheeks. She wanted so badly to run over and hug him, after all it had been a while since theyd seen each other, but instead she bit her lip and stood by her ditto, waiting for him to get closer.
"I finally ditched my pushy parents a few days ago and I just got here today. Certainly you've made it farther than this?" life was utterly boring back in Lilycove with him gone. With hardly any friends, she stayed in her room more often than not. Thinking about it now, maybe it wasnt just her parents that made her leave... Shed always felt drawn to him, so maybe that was the little extra push she needed to leave home. She shook the thought out of her head.

"So it is you." Sylvester was glad to know it was in fact the Harley he had grown up with back in Lilycove, moving closer to her and, for once in his life, mustering the glee to hug her. For some reason his suppressed emotions seemed to leak out at this moment, holding her in his arms for a moment before saying anything else.
"So, does that mean you're a pokemon trainer now?" He inquired, letting go and acknowledging the pokemon down at her side. He spared a gentle smile towards the pokemon, realizing just what it was, and how much potential it had. Though he wondered if she knew as much about the Ditto, since he never took Harley for a pokemon enthusiast. 'Here's to hoping that she is a trainer...'
"Yeah, it's-oh," She wasn't expecting a hug, so she was taken by surprise at the feeling of his arms wrapping around her waist. She shivered, but her arms found themselves wrapping around his neck for their hug. It was a nice feeling and she didn't want to let go when he started to move away, but she did and her hands fell clasped in front of her - nervous.
Harley was trying really hard to hide her blush, so when he redirected the conversation, she looked down at her goofy ditto. "Yeah ,I just got that thing today," She frowned at it and once she was certain her blush was almost gone, she looked back at Sylvester. "Whod you start with?"

Once they let go of each other in their embrace Sylvester noticed Harley looking down at her pokemon, and then back towards him before making an inquiry. "Oh uh...I started with an Eevee." He began to rub the back of his head, wondering exactly why she wanted to know. "Though, Marley has already evolved into a Sylveon." He said so with a hint of pride in his voice. "I see you got a Ditto."
He stared down at the little guy, sparing a subtle smile before glancing back up towards Harley. "You got pretty lucky, if you didn't know already. Ditto might as well be every pokemon in one." He speculated what Harley would have to say to this. "Would you like me to help you train your Ditto to transform into other pokemon?" He wasn't very sure about it, but if he remembered correctly Ditto didn't just know how to transform into pokemon within sight. No, so long as the pokemon was exposed to another and witnessed it's abilities, it could replicate them at any point in time so long as it's memory served it right. "I'd be happy to."
"That's awesome! You got pretty lucky," eevees were adorable and she wouldve loved to get one, but instead, she got this. "Yeah, I like them but... Just doesn't seem like a good starter pokemon, especially for someone that doesn't really know what they're doing," She hesitantly laughed, but looked at him with some shock when he mentioned that she got lucky.
"Maybe, but we're jipped the first turn so it can transform," She frowned, but was even more surprised when he offered to help train and that hed actually like to. She paused for a moment before smiling when she looked at him. "Uh yeah, I'd like that," anything to spend more time with him. Besides, maybe this ditto wouldn't be so bad after all...

Sylvester swiftly reached into his trench coat and retrieved the pokeball containing his first eve pokemon, Marley. In a sudden flash of light, the little guy with a coat of pink and white made his way before Sylvester and Harley, the strands of ribbon reaching towards Harley and wrapping around her in similar fashion to a hug. "Alright Marley, stand still so Harley's Ditto here can get a good look at you. We're going to help them learn how to transform into other pokemon."
Giving him a confused look, Marley simply backed away from the girl he was hugging, sitting still as Sylvester requested in front of the Ditto. "Thank you." Allowing ample time for the pokemon to change, Sylvester began to wonder the first few moves he would show he two of them. 'Something strong, or maybe a technical move?' It was hard to say, though he waited on Harley and her pokemon to do their part. "Okay Harley, your're up."
"Oh, he's so pretty!" She smiled at the sylveon, not really knowing what other word would work for something sparkley and pink. The hug made her smile and laugh, immediately wanting one of her own. Ditto could copy it and all, but it wouldn't actually be the same. He had Marley stand back though so her ditto could copy it, so she stood when the eeveelution backed away.
"Alright ditto, it's time to practice. Transform into that sylveon!" copycat moved foreward to be more between the sylveon and Harley and began trying to copy the pokemons shape. It took it some time of course, but after a few moments, the ditto fully formed into the sylveon. "Good job," She smiled down at copycat then. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad..

Watching closely as the Ditto replicated the form of his Sylveon to perfection, he smiled cheerfully once it had completed that part of it's training. "Alright, now we can have him learn some new moves. Marley...?" The Sylveon turned it's head around, giving his trainer an inquisitive look, as if to say "What do you want now?"
"Show Harley's Ditto how to use Draining Kiss." In the following moments, Marley made a scowl. Though, soon enough the pleasant face Marley oft-adorned was once again present. Though he seemed to pay more attention to Harley, looking her in the eye as his lips and face emanated with a pink hue upon kissing the Ditto.
"Draining kiss is a fairy type move. Similar to grass type moves like absorb and giga drain, draining kiss restores a portion of the damage dealt to the user's health." He hoped Harley would keep that in mind if and when it ever came to a time when she'd need it in a battle. It would help.

It would take a long time to teach Copycat how to transform and mimic the moves of other pokemon, so she couldn't imagine this pokemon being fantastic for long term use. Maybe as a back up or to always mimic a specific pokemon, but she couldn't imagine someone beating the elite four with a ditto. The thing was kind of growing on her.
Harley watched at the Sylveon showed Copycat how to use the move and she could see in its eyes that it was figuring out the move. She waited some minutes for Copycat to learn before letting it try it out itself. She nodded at Sylvesters words about the attack and smiled down at her ditto. "Try it out, use draining kiss," Copycat would then try to replicate the attack on Sylveon, hopefully succeeding without error. When the ditto did it, she smiled. "This isn't so bad,"

Now that Harley's Ditto was getting the hang of it, Sylvester decided to go with a different move. "Yeah, Ditto should be able to remember this come a later date, so make sure you remember it all too so you don't come up short when it comes to the time you're forced to battle." It would help a lot.
"Now, Marley, show them your dazzling gleam. Back away before using it, though. You wouldn't want to hurt Harley's pokemon, now would you?" Sparing another nod towards his trainer, Marley skipped away from his trainer as well as the other, turning to look towards them as he began glowing vibrantly with a pink hue given off from his body, followed by a sudden blinding flash.
"Dazzling gleam is another fairy type move, though it can only damage the opponent. It does, however, damage all opposing pokemon adjacent to the pokemon using it. Meaning your own pokemon, or anyone you're working with won't have to suffer." He allowed some time for Harley and her Ditto to replicate the attack, pondering if it was time he showed something else.

Sorry they're short, I've been getting sick and it's full fledged today :< "I shouldn't be hard to forget if it's not taught how to transform into a whole lot of different pokemon," at least she hoped anyway. Maybe all she would need for now is the sylveon and later there could be another brought in. They moved on to dazzling gleam now, a really impressive move based on looks alone. She wondered then if more people used sylveon for coordinating or battling. It seemed pretty strong, but the effects seemed more show worthy.
It was time for Copycat to practice the attack, but She listened to Sylvester first about the move. "Don't hurt him, but now you try dazzling gleam," now that it was Copycats turn to try the attack, it wasn't long before the same pink glow and blinding flash was mimiced.

Now that Harley's Ditto was getting the hang of it, Sylvester decided to allow a short interval of time for them to take a break. "Alright, very good." He gestured for Sylveon to come back over to him, Marley running and leaping up at him to be held in his arms. Doing so, Sylvester sat down on the grassy plain, motioning for Harley to do the same next to him.
"So, do you want to let that settle in for a bit, or would yo like me to let your Ditto mimic another pokemon of mine?" While he was eager in a way to show off his many pokemon, Sylvester also wanted to take some time to catch up with her. It had been quite a while since Sylvester had last spoken with Harley, and she had grown a lot since they were young. In more ways than one...he looked away from her and towards Marley as his face began to grow hot with blood. 'Don't look...'

When invited, Harley say next to him with her copy of sylveon turning back into ditto before she got the pokemons pokeball out. "I think we'll be fine for now, they should rest some. Return," She returned the ditto so it could get some good rest after all the practice. Besides, she wanted to catch up with him anyway. A lot has happened since they talked last, whenever that was. Her hair was longer now, about to her waist, but she's been thinking about cutting some off. She was tall and thin, but now blow-away-in-the-wind thin, with the same hazel eyes she's had her whole life. The glasses come and go with contacts being her other option. Today she was wearing her contacts.
Then she noticed him look away with a redness to his face. Why was he blushing? With her legs stretched out straight in front of her with her hands clamped in her lap. She looked down at her hands and kept her gaze there. "How have you been?"
