hello calamity! we're nearing the two months mark in a few weeks. how time flies! right now we have two things going on that need your participation. the first is an activity check! it is impotant that you check in so you don't lose your face claim. the second is the otm nomiations! we're doing it a bit different than last time. so please submit your nominations in. a vote thread will be up in the next few days. there will also be a formal event coming very soon, so keep your eye out for that. keep being cool!
we're currently about to host calamity's first contest in slatepor. trainers are flocking to the city to see, the city's been trying to get good pr since the gala, and it seems to be working! they're asking for both coordinators and volunteer judges to sign up.

FRIENDS Alastor is the sort of individual to surround himself with a particular set of people; they are meant to inspire and encourage him, as well as serve as ample standards for his own progression. Their functions are to also serve as a social support group, though he rarely exposes any depth of his character to mere acquaintances. They are as much tools as his Pokemon, though Alastor treats them with an amount of mutual respect and recognizes their importance.
ENEMIES Those counted among the enemies of Team Magma are easily targets to be brought down. Although bearing no grudges against their enemies, he is compelled to portray a dutiful grunt as is Alastor's place. But beyond these enemies are those whom he holds personal grudges against, Sylvester Blackburne chiefest among them. An unknown family feud has brewed between these cousins, though Sylvester remains oblivious to his relative's truest intentions.
ROMANCE Alastor has been known to joke casually and is comfortable with his apparent sexuality. But this is honestly a ruse, he has been closeted and cannot figure out how these bizarre urges reached him to begin. Despite honest efforts to curb his self-proclaimed abominable appetites, it is a recurring theme for him to shun any notion of romance for fear of betraying the truth of himself. He entertains the notion of romance introvertedly, imagining would-have-beens and the like in secret. Perhaps it is the unpleasantry of succeeding a surname Alastor spurns which sparked these cravings.

emma kasperson & Alastor Clarke idk about you, but alastor sounds like the type to not like children or at least not appreciate them very much. emma is a pretty hyper 11 year old with big aspirations, if she meets alastor she's bound to get really excited and challenge him to a battle because he's a trainer and he's super cool! y/n?
cain novak & Alastor Clarke cain's pretty chill, but he's also in aqua so i feel like they'd be pretty good rivals. a battle and then maybe a back and forth bantering? and then repeat for a while until they can pretty much see that they're only enemies because they're on different teams. idk, what do you think?
i also have cassandra cain, but i can't really think of anything. any other ideas? 8)

ok so to start off, iggy's in aqua and alastor's in magma. That implies Alastor will not be fond of Iggy from the get-go if they know anything about each other--however, if they maybe keep their allegiances secret, they could maybe end up doing things. Iggy's kind of an asshole and very pushy, but if Alastor is looking for something casual, or even secret, Iggy is the one to go to. He won't tell anyone about what they do if that's what Alastor wants--and he wouldn't necessarily even know anyone from magma to tell it to. If Alastor just wants a one-time thing, never talk to you again, Iggy's fine with that too. He won't judge the guy for being in the closet at all. Ifff you don't wanna do sex, then maybe some sort of friends, Iggy could get Alastor to open up a little to his gay side in a way that doesn't include nudity I suppose. I'm just not sure if they would get along otherwise though >>; Ooh, but yes, if they become some sort of rival, but still do stuff (read: sex) it could v scandalous and fun.
Plus we're PG-13 so I don't see any of this actually happening. Not unless we got very suggestive with some imagery... <<; But to contribute I have a thought.
Alastor leaves the gala event, bummed he wasn't considered 'reputable' enough to be involved with the actual plans taking place. Because of this he decides to go and party like he's never partied before, in non-magma persona, and comes across a self-proclaimed Aqua grunt in a very very very late night party/rave on the same night.
We'd be drugged out of our minds so confessions like these would come easy from loose lips, and easily forgotten by the time either of us woke up.
uwu From there you make a funny joke like 'I bet I can make you wet haha,' bad Aqua jokes omfg and after a few conspicuous flirtatious passes, Alastor decides to give in to Iggy and test his resolve. But I'm not sure where you expected this to go, honestly.

I think Iggy could/would be the 'mistake' that Alastor can't quite get over, but doesn't want to get over either. Like a fantasy half-lived before giving up partway through sort of deal. I may have to communicate with rasta a bit about this though. Alastor and Ozzie were going to be a thing but not quite yet so I can humor you in the mean time, I suppose, to sate these fiendish cravings for a time. D: Lemme know your thoughts.
Alastor Clarke hey, this is gwen, magma researcher and overall busybody. she's usually not around the base on account of frequent nomadic visits to study the sea and mountains and everything in between. she really loves team magma for opening its arms to her and giving her a family where she's never had one and kind of tries to mom the fuck out of its members. though she's less the hugs and kisses and fixing booboos as much as she is the naggy mom that's the rock of the family and will tell you nice things about yourself in private after scolding you for an hour in front of others. all about that tough love.
also she's gay, so if he needs help with that ayyyyyyy
idk, these two could be tentative allies, bitter enemies in the same organization, or even good friends if he takes to her momming well enough. idk idk.
GWEN DARBY & Alastor Clarke I suppose they could get along, though probably not that well. Alastor is currently abusing Magma for what little perks he's managed to sequester from them. So he's not exactly big on cooperating with them on a large scale, just pretending to be that inadequate grunt while he's busy doing his own thing, bouncing around Hoenn with class and style.
I don't think Al would take ridicule very well, especially in front of others, but I think these two could have an adorable behind-the-scenes relationship... she could be his counselor or therapist, helping him cope with some of his decisions and such. Like a LGBT heart-to-heart<3
Also there's the matter of him eventually losing Mienfoo, and when that happens he's going to become more of an emotional train wreck and will definitely turn to her for guidance. He might ultimately reject her depending on how she treats with him, but he'd want to talk to her about it after all the support she's offered to him.
I think it could be fun. :> Do tell me how detailed he should be with his little confessions, I suppose we'll call them that. :> You can be like a surrogate for confessionals.~ But lemme know how grotesque he should be with her, 'cause he could probably be pretty fuqqed up. Alastor Clarke oh man this sounds really cute. yeah i like this, out in public they can be kind of tense, but i can see him slipping into her room or stopping her in an empty hhe allway and they just kind of talk. she gets the whole confusion and disdain for one's sexuality to some extent and would be more than happy to help a magma figure all that out.
gwen also loves pokemon with a crazy strong passion. she studies them frequently and despite her sometimes distant demeanor really does care for them. someone losing a pokemon would hurt her too and she'd be more than happy to listen to one of her "kids" when that happened. she'd be a shoulder to cry on and someone to vent to no doubt.
as for the matter of confessionals, gwen is no delicate wallflower but she's also not built for the grim and gory. she'd bare it all for the sake of alastor, but she would be unsettled by the more disturbing aspects of alastor's past. still she'd do her best to help him through all of it without showing how the confessions affected her. i imagine she's heard worst.
