■ what doesn't kill you makes you stronger
Well, he was rather polite, which she enjoyed. Fidel smiled when he mentioned how strong Magikarp could get one day, instead of putting her down for attempting to train it. It was nice to know that there were more people like the lady in white than the lady in black. She wouldn't give up training, no matter what, but it was always enjoyable to have the support of others, even complete strangers.[break][break]
As it was, the man had to leave. She understood. She also had to make her way back to Petalburg; it wasn't a good idea to stay on a route for too long without any Pokemon. "Alright, bye. I'll be sure to train Magikarp up! I look forward to the rematch as well." She promised, and left for the road back to Petalburg just as he made his way to the woods.[break][break]
Fidel walked back to Petalburg aimlessly, almost lifelessly. Her eyes, glued to the ground, and her breath as steady as stone. Her feet moved up and down in a mechanical fashion as she lost herself in her thoughts. Something that man said simply made the gears in her mind turn until they were nearly melting, and it sparked a sudden realization that changed her outlook on her career as a Trainer forever.[break][break]
It burned deep in her mind. She she never caught it before. Never thought of it before... and yet she should have! Nobody told her, and she had only the faintest idea of the concept, but it was there. That unsung promise that she never knew of, but was staring at her directly in the face, almost as if it were a ghost that was there the whole time. A revelation that made Fidel want to train harder, stronger, better, even if it took her to the gates of hell.[break][break]
