Yet again Sylvester was out in the routes beyond Rustboro City, bored beyond what he could have fathomed for the day. Even still, after several days of searching he could not find any trace of a wild pokemon—save for their droppings. He was really getting the shit out of his training these last few days, and it was bothersome.
"Something had better show up soon, or I am gonna start having my pokemon battle themselves for practice." It wasn't a happy thought, though perhaps it would benefit his pokemon as opposed to letting them rest all the time in their pokeballs. Taking a look around, Sylvester noticed another person making their way through the route's passage. Trying not to appear so frustrated, he gathered him composure before realizing the person closing in on him was none other than...

"yo!"
the coordinator had taken notice to the male only several moments ago. and only after proceeding to step forward and eye the familiar figure did she shout out in a joyous tone.
"sylvester! it's me!"
andrea was surprised that she had remembered his name so easily. usually she struggled with titles. but their previous encounter had likely left enough of an impression upon the girl. he appeared a tad bit different now - experienced. yeah, that was the word.
"it's been a minute, dude. what's up?"
she jogged forward, panting lightly until they only stood several feet away from one another.
"surprised ta see ya out here. doin' some trainin'?"
or maybe he was on the hunt for wild pokemon. she wouldn't be surprised if he was.

"Oh, hey Andrea, it's nice to see you again." In all truths, it wasn't that good. Remembering the promise he had made during their first encounter, Sylvester knew it was only a matter of time before she asked whether or not he was ready to battle her. Deciding it would be best if he took the initiative to battle, he swiftly nodded and gave a short answer. "Yeah, just hunting wile pokemon. Although, I can't seem to find anything out here. I was actually about to just have my pokemon battle one another, however..."
Reaching into his coat and grabbing one of his pokeballs, he pulled it out, only to click the button as it grew larger in-hand. "Now that you are here with me, why don't we just have the battle that I promised you last time? I haven't done a whole lot since then, but I am ready for a battle if you are." Waiting for Andrea to give her response, his nerves began to grow wild.

"a battle, huh?"
andrea quickly grew excited by the mere idea of indulging in battle. the male likely boasted a team of his own at this period of time, and the girl looked forward to seeing what he had to offer.
"why not?" she said, shrugging. "i'd love ta! so let's get it started then, yeah?"
she moved a good distance away from the male, granting their pokemon enough room to tussle.
"i ain't gonna go easy on ya!" andrea warned, selecting a capsule at random before tossing it into the field
a creature composed of lean muscle and feathers hovered above the grassy terrain, crying out sharply as he faced the human male. the woman grinned wickedly.

Noticing that Andrea said she wouldn't go easy on him, Sylvester took that into account when deciding on which pokemon to use first. Seeing as the one she produced was a flying type, he felt it would be best to use his least used pokemon to get some thorough experience with battling. Why it may have been an ill-advised choice, he made it nonetheless. "I got no qualms with that, it wouldn't be a true battle otherwise."
Reaching for and releasing a pokeball of his choice, a large red silhouette manifested before the space between Andrea and Sylvester. Within a moment his choice pokemon had made itself clear, a youthful Ponyta trotting around cheerfully. "Alright Dasher, it's time for your first battle!" Hoping it would not prove to be a troublesome pokemon to work with, it appeared that would not be the case. Right away the Ponyta looked to Sylvester, and then back over towards the direction of it's opponent. The front right hoof began digging into the dirt, a way of portraying that it was ready to give it's all in this battle. "You and your pokemon can have the first move. Don't keep us waiting."

"impress me," she purred.
the coordinator eyed the pretty pony, admiring its mane that was composed of pure flame. it suited the male, oddly enough. but it was still fairly small, and likely low level. after a moment of consideration, she looked to her pokemon who remained idle.
"ready, roc?"
the spearow merely released a low noise akin to a growl.
"peck!"
with a mighty flap, the pokemon sped forward, aiming for that creamy coat and columns of exposed flesh that were vulnerable to his assault. he began to thrust his beak forward -
"fury attack!"
rapid motions followed, one that resulted in a repetitive strikes that were made in quick succession.

Observing Andrea's commands being followed out by the Spearow, as it neared his own pokemon he began to spout out his own set of instructions. "Dasher, dodge and wait for it to charge again!"
Hurrying to it's side, the Ponyta barely escaped from the pokemon's beak, which had been aiming right for it. As Dasher reared around to keep an eye out, the Spearow in fact came to attack again, allowing Sylvester to speak the next move he wanted his pokemon to make. "Dasher, tackle it as much as you can!" Almost like a headbutt, the Ponyta rammed forth into the Spearow, their collision looking somewhat painful—especially for his Ponyta. Sylvester could tell already that the Spearow was much more accustomed to battling, and that was likely a result of thorough training. Sylvester, on the other hand, was battling with Dasher for the first time. Even if they lost, it would not be very dampening to his spirits. Knowing that his pokemon was willing to fight with, and even lose alongside Sylvester was good enough for him.
Run Away - Lv.05 - Injured Ponyta dodged! Ponyta used Tackle! Ponyta used Tackle!

instead of moving to avoid the double strike, the spearow merely took the series of tackles head on. the colt could knock away only a portion of his health, after all. nothing deemed sizable nor worrying occurred, really. he would likely be sore at a later period of time, but nothing a quick trip to the pokecenter couldn't fix.
"spearow!"
flapping roughly to grow stable once more, he distanced himself from the large creature, facial features twisting to form a look of anticipation.
"sweet move," andrea commented.
she snapped her fingers.
"spearow!"
the flying-type lunged toward the pony.
"fury attack! keep it rollin'!"
a volley of pecks followed, the pokemon merciless as he sought out the youthful creature by wielding his crooked beak.

It was pretty painful to stand back and watch his pokemon being hurt, and though he was just about to usher Dasher to attack, Sylvester did not do so in time to avoid the incoming attack(s) of Andrea's Spearow. Aggressively it pecked away at his own pokemon, forcing it to the ground as it whimpered in pain. Returning his pokemon to it's ball, he selected another one from inside his coat.
Run Away - Lv.05 - K.O. Ponyta has fainted!
"Alright, let's choose our next pokemon then." Lobbing his ball, it's contents were revealed, a Shroomish appearing on Sylvester's side of the field. Yet again allowing Andrea's pokemon to have the first move as he could not yet attack them without having been called out, he waited behind his pokemon—anticipating the start of this new battle.
Effect Spore - Lv.05 - Healthy Shroomish is on standby!
she called out to the bird, who cawed cheerily as he moved to settle himself upon his mistress's offered arm. scratching his neck and rough layer of feathers with a gentle hand, her grin grew wide as she praised her valued companion. he soaked up her attentions, and the coordinator could only chuckle at the male as he introduced shroomish to the field.
"back to yer capsule, boy," she purred.
once spearow was successfully stowed away within his orb the girl considered who to send out next. after a brief moment of thought, she eyed the young shroomish. the girl slipped a pokeball out of her pocket and whispered to the capsule in private, allowing for a small message to slip into the orb.
"jester!"
the snivy appeared in a flash, his small hands settling upon the roundness of his middle as he eyed his foe.

Watching her commend the Spearow for a time before sending out the next pokemon, Sylvester could not help but immediately call for his Shroomish to attack once a valid target made it's way unto the field of battle. "Daisy, use absorb!"
Watching as Andrea apparently did nothing as of yet, Daisy the Shroomish took aim and began to glow with an emerald hue—the only tell-tale sign that the move absorb was being used, as it's reach tried to engulf the targeted Snivy in the same emerald hue as well. Retrieving his pokedex to give Snivy a quick scan, he realized this battle would likely take awhile as two grass types were now going to be fighting one another. "Follow up with another absorb!"
Effect Spore - Lv.05 - Healthy Shroomish used Absorb! Shroomish used Absorb!
there was a bit of discomfort associated with the absorb, but it didn't hurt too much, really.
"pssst."
"sniv?"
jester peered over his shoulder, and witnessed as his mistress gestured wildly with her hands. he then remembered what he was meant to do and proceeded to gasp sharply, clutching at his middle and casting the shroomish a glare.
"s-sniv!"
"oh shit, snivy! you good, bud?"
"s-snivy!" he replied, gasping.
"huh, didn't know yer shroomish was that strong, man," andrea commented, casting him a sheepish look. "snivy! try using a leer!"
the pokemon's gaze took on a crimson shade as he glared at the grass-type.

Even Sylvester could tell something was going on, though his pokemon was a bit preoccupied with the Snivy to care what Andrea was doing. Because of that, Daisy almost made a look of guilt when the Snivy cried out, her guard only rising once more when the pokemon leered at her with menacing red eyes.
"Daisy, tackle Snivy and follow it up with a second tackle." Hoping that this would land a critical hit on the opponent, Sylvester knew all too well that the move used was a status affliction. It likely made Daisy weaker in one aspect or another, so his odds of beating the Snivy weren't that likely. Not unless Andrea planned on letting Sylvester and his Shroomish win this one. "Get ready to dodge if the Snivy tries to strike back."
the grass-type appeared to be startled. despite his superior speed, he remained idle, as though feigning surprise over how quickly the shroomish moved. he postured himself slightly so that he was struck at his weakest point.
"snivvv!"
he was launched backwards. only a little bit, but he made a good show of proving that he was hurt. he gaped at the shroomish as it went in for another strike, waving his leafy hands in what appeared to be fear just before he took another tackle.
"s-sniv."
andrea's lips were twitching, and she covered her mouth and looked away for another moment. it was so fuckin' hard not to burst out laughing. but she managed to just barely keep up the facade.
"o-oh no! jester! ya got this!"
"snivy!"
the grass-type stood with some difficulty, uncertainty gleaming in his eyes as he retreated a step from the stout creature and visibly shivered. inwardly, the snake took immense pride in its acting skills.
"i know yer scared! but ya got this!"
"s-snivy," he replied, eyes widening.
"try to use a vine whip!"
the snivy struck out blindly, covering his face as though he was terribly frightened. he missed shroomish completely, instead lashing out uselessly at the surrounding grass.
overgrow - - lv.10 - - mod. injured.
tackle - - vine whip - - leer - - wrap jester was hit by tackle! jester was hit by tackle! jester used vine whip! but it failed!

For Sylvester, this was all getting a little too obvious. Even his pokemon looked confused, glancing back towards Sylvester as if looking for advice. Allowing a straight face to remain, he simply went along and declared another move for his pokemon to make. "Daisy, hit it with tackle again!"
The battle would take some time, but if things turned out as expected, perhaps his Shroomish would benefit from this battle after all. Maybe just it's confidence, but really just about anything would help right about now. It wasn't a pokemon he had had for long, and if Sylvester were seriously considering challenging the Petalburg City Gym Leader—he'd really need to battle other trainers like this more often.
"Now make another tackle, this time from behind!" It would probably appear humorous once more to Andrea, and if she didn't keep her composure it would become pretty obvious to the Shroomish what was going on. While Daisy may not have cared so much, Sylvester was beginning to wonder why Andrea had said she was going to go all out if she wasn't. Maybe it was just her way of trying to be nice during this battle? 'I hope so.' It would be pretty depressing if it was because she pitied him, or even his pokemon.
