Penelope gave William a sympathetic smile at his compliment, her eyebrows knitting upwards as she thought on it, before laughing slightly and shrugging. "Thanks, it's not my best outfit, but some days, I try." She laughed again, more so at her self than the situation, before adjusting herself until she felt right in her seat.
"Have you ever done this before? It's a bit knew... I was supposed to be here with someone, but I don't think he's coming." She smiled and spun her finger around the rim of her glass. "A little disappointing... Did you come here with anyone?" She glanced up at him curiously, tilting her head before lifting her glass to her lips to take a long drink of water.
She hadn't meant to insult him or anything, she just thought it might be easier to talk if they were on common ground with why they were here.
If it had been you that he beat to a bloody pulp, if he had taken you from this world, I would've done nothing but search the planet for this pathetic pile of evil death-worshiping garbage and sent him off to hell.
❞
It hadn't completely taken form yet, but the idea that everything wasn't right was beginning to set in. Jeremy's eyes sped around the room, and while there were people still talking and doing what they were all meant to do, there were some that were distressed. One of them being Andrea - what exactly had he missed. His lips pursed open, the stark crimson parting as he took in a solemn deep breath. Had there been a fight? His attention, which had been completely overtaken by the mess around him, was brought back to the girl when she introduced herself. "Oh no wor-" His eyes darted to the man that had been by the girl. An eyebrow raised out of interest, but just as quickly furrowed down with the one on the opposing side when he noticed this man, who hadn't even given his name, grabbed Syndra and started storming off.
"Well, I can't have that..." Walking quickly to catch up to the two of them, Jeremy stepped in front of the two. "What's the rush?" He asked coyly, though the he had a thought. He wasn't here to start any trouble, bosses orders. "Look, I'm just here to have a good time...and while it seems..." He started, waving his hand back and forth in front of him toward the rest of the room and it's patrons. "I missed most of the fun, why not stay?" He asked while shrugging his shoulders. H Honestly. he wasn't sure why they all wore these masks, and while he himself was a fan, it seemed like removing his would reset the tone of the room...or at least allow himself to reintroduce himself.
Grasping the mask at the edge, the man pulled the black mask from his face, baby blue hues staring at the two of them. "Let's start again...I'm Jeremy..." He took the mask, using it as a tool for demonstration..."And I'd like to finish my date with Syndra here. It is speed dating after all..." Of course, Jeremy was always willing to be as blunt as need be to get his point across. "So if you want to escape out of the window like some vigilante then by all means but don't be so misogynistic to assume she can't make this decision on her own." Jeremy tossed the girl a smile. "Then again, if you want join him, well...I wouldn't want to be a hypocrite now, so..." The words were never more true before he started to head to the table closest to them. "It's your decision..." And with that, the raven haired grunt placed the mask back on, leaning back into his seat.

THESE ARE THE DAYS
WHEN I HATE THE WORLD
HATE THE RICH, HATE THE HAPPY, HATE THE COMPLACENT. TV WATCHERS, BEER DRINKERS, THE SATISFIED ONES. BECAUSE I KNOW I CAN BE ALL THOSE LITTLE HATEFUL THINGS AND THEN I HATE MYSELF FOR REALIZING THAT. BE SAFE, BE SAFE.
Darius ignored Bunny's thanks, he wasn't going to say "You're welcome for carrying the bruised and cut hot girl out of the room." Instead he gave a slight nod, he didn't like the situation at all. He wasn't a hero, he wasn't a fucking knight in shining armor, he was your average street hoodlum. Not a fucking goody two shoes, but in this case even his goody two shoe rival, Sylvester was ok, for once he was actually going to praise him instead of insult him. He wouldn't say it though, hopefully he'd catch on himself. As the door seemed to be locked Darius let out a puff of his cigarette. "God fucking damn it I'm stuck in here with these people." Darius thought to himself, he was seriously just sick of this entire situation, all goes well till an angry gay speaks up. "Fuck it again." He muttered, he could of blasted the whole fucking door down with his Gabite, but he caused enough trouble and excitement for this night.
Darius listened to Andrea's request walking over to a table for her to rest at. She muttered something that he couldn't hear so he simply shrugged it off wrapping an arm around her waist, being extra careful not to grab her by any cuts. He then turned to the other red head in the room who was obviously mocking him. "I'll be here all night, If you want some more excitement my Gabite here has a nice Dragon Rage that will blow your fucking mind away." He replied, and his Gabite looked at her trainer, all she heard was "Gabite, Dragon Rage." and she immediately began charging up a purple fire ball in her mouth, but stopped once she noticed Darius wasn't giving his usual smirk or pointing at a specific target.
Gabite let the purple flame remain in her mouth to die out, and looked down at Snivy and Dratini. She had nothing to say except the usual. "Gabite. . ."
[attr="class","pv00"]His first instinct is to drag the green haired girl away from all the idiots calling this room as theirs, going about whatever they had planned with their so called dates of the evening within the small space in a manner that ignored everyone else in it. It was disgusting, and if he would have known what this event was calling for from the start he would have never allowed Evan to write his name down for this; even dragged the boy out of the gala itself to stop him from putting both himself and him on that list. Syndra was probably another one of Evans victims in this mess, though at this point he wasn’t sure -- except a part of him thought she wouldn’t have been up for something like this, or at least that had been the impression she gave him. Sure she was annoying sometimes and had shoved her way into their group at moments but that didn’t place her everyone else's category.
He doesn’t look away from the window in view, tries to mark out how he’ll approach his possible escape from this shitty evening before getting to the spot -- and he doesn’t notice the man walk up to them, stopping in front and forcing Noah to do the same. His eyes are forcefully drawn to the man in his way, the same one he had left and taken Syndra away from near the door; there’s nothing to say, and when the man begins to speak he expects nothing more than a half-assed insult and comment towards his behavior like everyone else was giving. Instead, he got an actual civil response, one that actually had Noah listening than ignoring -- kept his footing stilled and his eyes locked on the figure.
The vigilante comment triggers a scoff from his pursed lips but that’s all he can give to what was said; there was no lie to be found, no unnecessary comment made. So instead Noah stayed silent, let the man speak and when he had chosen to leave -- giving the choice to Syndra to choose what she wanted to do -- he did nothing to stop him. He could see the window again without the man blocking his view, heard the footsteps of the other slowly fade. “Go enjoy your date,” he says, his voice low enough for the girl to hear. Truthfully he didn’t care if she joined him in finding some way out of this room, if she sat with him to distract his mind from focusing on everything happening around them or if she took the offer to enjoy whatever peace that was left with her date. He had appreciated the gesture, albeit silently to himself, but as he had said before she held no obligations.
With that he continued on towards the wall, keeping his eyes trained on the window that had caught his attention prior while hoping it was unlocked. It was still strange to think something like a quick gimmick speed dating game would be so prized to have the doors trapping their guests until the “fun” was over -- but so far Hoenn was turning out strange. He wouldn’t be surprised if that was just how things were in this region with what he had run into since arriving.

Penelope smiled awkwardly at the man in front of her, before stretching a bit, cracking her knuckles. Her body was sore from a day of training with Nia, and she wished that she could see Elijah before the grand gala started later that night.
William, however, was talking politely about his hometown, and Penelope felt obliged to reply with her own stories of home, making small chit-chat with him. It looked like he was uncomfortable with her as a partner, and she briefly wondered who in the room would be more suitable.
"Jubilife, how interesting. I spent a little bit of my teenage years there, but I come from Goldenrod. I left when I was 13." Penelope smiled, perhaps a little too bittersweet. "You know, trying to find myself and all that."
Nope. Nope. There were so many things wrong with this situation that the green haired girl couldn't even list them all. While Noah seemed to hear out her speed dating partner for whatever time was left the female could only think about what to do. When Jeremy had pointed out that the angry male had looked like he wanted to jump out the window like a vigilante, her eyes widened as her gaze shot over to Noah. Surprisingly the other sounded pretty defeated when he told her to enjoy her date as he walked away but she couldn't have that. At the same time she didn't want to disappoint the nice man who had tried to reason things out.
Nope. Time to call out the big guns here. For now Noah's safety was her top priority and so she finally took out her pokeNav and found Evan's contact info on it. She wrote out a message to him. One that explained the situation in a fairly blunt manner. Something like 'Your boyfriend threw a vase at some chick's head and now there's blood and he's trying to jump out a window like batman' seemed like the correct choice of words. After that she walked over to the table Jeremy sat at but did not sit down herself. "I'm so sorry. You seem like a nice guy and this entire thing is a mess. I have to go make sure my friend doesn't do anything stupid but here's my contact info." She quickly wrote down her PokeNav information on a small card on the table and slid it to the man. This entire thing was not her style and normally she wouldn't have considered it but if she could mend at least part of the situation she would. "Call me sometime and we can try this again? Or something. Or just talk to me afterward this whole thing?" She shot him a smile as she began to walk backwards towards where Noah ran off to. She hoped that he didn't take offense to any of it and she could only hope for the best as she went after the misunderstod gay man.
Then she realized that Evan was probably having a speed date thing that may or may not have been going well so she pulled her pokeNav out again to send a followup text consisting of, 'Want a picture? Hope I'm not disturbing your date.' Pointing the camera option towards the angry male she snapped a quick picture of Noah fiddling with the window before sending the message to the nice man. Maybe Evan will text Noah to stop.

Forgetting that he neglected to check up on Andrea, Sylvester took a stand and made his way over to where she was being accompanied by a few others. Darius Valentine was close...but for some reason, that didn't seem so bad. Darius was, at the very least, the devil Sylvester knew. Perhaps too well...
"Hey Andrea, how are you feeling?" While it was probably a silly question, as she wouldn't be feeling good, Sylvester just wanted to be assured she wasn't getting light-headed or anything from the sight of blood—especially her own blood. "That guy sure did do a number on you." It was just a fact. Though, he very curiously wondered what would have happened if the green-haired girl with the Spheal did not interrupt the attack of Andrea's Snivy. Though, now that he thought about it...
'Was that Syndra?' He was almost positive, looking over and realizing she was about the right size and everything—even the girl's voice was identical. 'Why would she defend someone like that?' He'd have to ask her, when this whole ordeal was said and done. Until then, his priority was the true victim.
"Noah you shouldn't ignore your messages," the female in a dragonair mask could be heard saying as she approached the suicidal man fiddling with the window. She had received Evan's messages back and not only were they in all caps it was telling her to stop him from jumping out said window. Now how the smaller girl was going to manage to do that was beyond her. In fact she assumed that Evan had messaged Noah to stop too which is why she told him to check his messages. Closing her pokeNav, Syndra's next objective was to prevent Noah from actually going through with trying to jump out the window. Glancing at her Spheal, the ice type was looking fairly intently at the dragon type. The round pokemon was somewhat sure that the pokemon was not safe and was willing to jump into action now. Sylvester had now joined the other group of people and at that she bit her tongue, unsure of what to think of that. Trying not to think too much about the last five minutes she shook her head. Sighing at the sight, she turned her attention back to Noah. "A minute left. Next round will probably be better..." probably being the operative word here.
[attr="class","idfc4"]He wanted to leave and if the window happened to be the only way to freedom than so be it -- that was his thoughts when he first caught sight of it. The door had seemed to be locked from the outside (something he had made note of as an idiotic endeavor on management's part) and when no force or finesse could be used to open it from his end Noah had given up; sought out another way and found it along the opposite end of the room. At this point he wouldn’t have cared if they were on the third story or higher, and for a moment as he walked up to the only way out of this room he regretted not paying attention to their location in the gala. All he had noticed when first arriving were the amount of people, those who he already knew amongst the many he did not -- and Evan.
When he got close enough his hands went to the window, attempting to find a way to open it without breaking the glass -- but before he could get far Syndra spoke up again. His head turned, staring at the masked girl behind him with an exhausted expression. “I thought I said to enjoy your date,” he sighed, removing his hands from the window and letting them fall to his side. The comment about his messages made his expression turn for a second, one of mild confusion before returning back to how it was before. His hands sought the pokeNav from within his pocket, flicking it open to see a new message -- his eyes went over the question, something simple towards the situation on his side of things; maybe he had heard the commotion from the other room.
His fingers typed the word ‘nothing’ before hitting the reply, flicking the device closed and shoving it back to where it had originally been. They only had so much time left, but the fact that there would be another round of dating after this is what left him feeling sick. He didn’t want another round, a new date or any more time around anyone in this room; he had had his fill for the rest of his life, and truthfully, how round one had went Noah couldn’t imagine handling another two. “I just want to leave.”

she raised her head slightly to properly address her friends.
huh.
friends.
andrea felt a little better when she realized that she had managed the task of forging solid relationships in the past few months. a small smile formed on her features before she proceeded to address them all.
"mm' fine. yeah. glad ya'll are here, though," she purred.
a bit of warmth entered her gaze as it flickered from sam, to sylvester, to bunny and then darius. she wished they could stay with her for the remainder of this. but she had to get a few things done. and she didn't want to get 'em involved in somethin' of that nature. andrea cared for 'em too much. call her soft if ya wanted to.
"the three minutes are about ta end. ya best get movin'," she warned.
a voice alerted them that it was time to move along.

It appeared Andrea was right. After the few moments left that they had to finish up the first round, the second round was announced and participants were being named for the other rooms. After a few moments, Sylvester heard his name, realizing he was paired with someone he had already met during his ventures. Someone...who was really young compared to him. 'What on earth is Fidel doing in a speed dating session, of all things?'
Heading to the door so that he may enter the next room, Sylvester realized Andrea would be staying behind. However, by the sound of she would be left behind. At the very least, she wouldn't have to worry about Noah, whom had been called to the other room. Darius would be there yet again as well, causing Sylvester to speculate on what may happen next. "Hopefully you can get along just fine by yourself. See you later, Andrea. Take care" These were the last words he spoke, giving off a wave over the shoulder as he exited the proximity of room number two.
