Usa ran ahead of his brother with the expectation that he would find them a place to stay for the night. His brother wanted to do a quick survey of the city for whatever reason. It was sundown and the two had made it to Petalburg right on schedule. That fact was all that mattered to Usa.
The excitement from knowing that he would be attending the event that was broadcasted on the pokenav, got his blood pumping. He couldn't stop himself from having a huge smile on his face. He was having one of the greatest nights of his life. He had just received a pokegg from a mysterious stranger...lucky! And, now he had an opportunity to meet and interact with other trainers...even more lucky! Little did Usa know, however, that his night was about to be made even more memorable...

what we know is almost nothing at all
Ugh, they still had work to do before they were ready with the next gym.
Kristmar was seated on a bench near the very edge of the town, in an area that was very spacious and provided ample room to train with his pokémon. His elbows were resting on his knees and his hands were cupping his face as he gave his gible a mildly despairing look. Deimos was charging around in circles with energy to burn... and he was even smouldering slightly.
"Do you want to pay attention? Or else we're never going to get this right..." He sighed with a slight theatrical air, slouching further into his hands as the gible gave him a passing glance... before continuing. The dragon was hyped! So hype! Fiiiiiire! He could make fiiiiire! Kris groaned quietly and rubbed one of his hands over his eyes... supposing he should just let him... run off all this excess energy.
Teaching a pokémon a move through a technical machine and getting them accustomed to using it correctly were two wholly different things. They were pressed for time though, that was the problem; he planned to challenge the gym soon and he couldn't take on norman with a shoddily practised move.
With another sigh, Kris let his attention wander for a minute, his carmine eyes coming to rest on a another blond who appeared to have only just arrived. A newcomer perhaps? He pushed some of his thick sandy bangs from his eyes so he could get a better look.
Usa's excitement slowly fizzled. Night was quickly approaching and the days activities had started to take a tole. Using the back of one hand to rub his eye, and the other to scratch his tummy, he slowly scanned the surrounding area for a Pokemon Centre. No luck.
The orange hue of the sky caused him to stare off into the distance for a moment. A cool breeze caused his hair rustle as it passed. He smiled. For a brief moment, the anticipation of what was to come brought a surge of excitement once more. If not for the feeling that was being watched, he would have stood in the moment for a much longer time.
A small tingle ran down his spine. Am I being watched? He spun his head around to see if there was anyone else there. Nothing ahead of him. Nothing behind him. Nothing to the left of him. To the right? "Oh!" Usa yelled. The sight of another startled him. Usa flashed a smile - hoping that the stranger didn't see him jump from fright.
He slowly made his way over to the stranger - still with a smile on his face. "Hi there, I don't suppose you could help me?" It wasn't long before the little blue Pokemon caught his eye. Oh my gosh, that's a Gible! A Gible! His facial expression broadcasted his thoughts exactly. His stare became fixed on the energetic Gible. His usually calm and collected composure quickly slipped into that of an excited 5 year old. "Wow, is that your Gible? It looks so cool...I've never seen on in person before. And, all that energy...I wonder if all Gible have that much energy...no, you must be taking good care of it for it be so happy and energetic". His thoughts creeped out unintentionally as he spoke.

what we know is almost nothing at all
Kristmar, to the boy's likely dismay, definitely saw how he jumped almost clean out of his shoes on noticing he was being watched. The longer-haired male had to duck his head down for a moment to hide the amused smirk that curved his lips, not wanting to come off as too rude, although he could somewhat understand the boy; dusk was rapidly approaching and finding yourself being watched by a solitary stranger was... a little bit creepy. No lie. He offered his hand up in a small wave though once the other trainer recovered and began making his way over, schooling his expression into something more friendly and not so blatantly amused.
"Help? What's wrong? Are you lost or...?" Kris tilted his head and slowly moved from his slouched position on the bench, sitting upright with his hands lay on his lap. The boy didn't look as if he was pressed with some matter of urgency so he assumed that, perhaps, a little pointing in the right direction was all he could be after.
The guy was certainly a talkative one though, Kris noticed with another vague smile. He gave a humoured huff and let his gaze drift back to his gible.
"He's... quite the handful, even on a good day. Today he's just a little more excited than usual."
Noticing the newcomer and that he was being talked about, the gible stopped dead in his tracks. He looked over. He hopped from foot to foot. He yipped, releasing a faint plume of smoke from his toothy mouth, and then he charged over. Snorting and snuffing, releasing more smoky tendrils, the small dragon sniffed the stranger's trouser legs with enthusiasm.
"Don't worry though. He doesn't bite." He was a gible, at most he'd nibble out of curiosity. "Just wish he'd use this energy to practise his new move... it's a little bit too powerful for him."
Caught up in his fixation with the stranger's Gible, Usa had completely forgotten that he had asked for help earlier. The stranger's concern, however, made him quickly remember his purpose for coming over. With an embarrassed look on his face, he explained: "Sorry, I was entranced by your Gible". He raised his right hand as a gesture of salutations. "I'm Usa. I came over here to ask for directions to a place my brother and I could stay for the night".
Usa's attention soon returned to the Gible once more as the trainer candidly complained about how much of a handful the little Pokemon was. Usa smiled. "But I'm sure you wouldn't trade em for the world". He glanced at the stranger to catch his reaction.
By now, the little Pokemon had made its way to Usa's foot. Its enthusiasm while sniffing his leg prompted him to take a huge step back. Was it going to bite me!? He looked over at the trainer with a nervous smile, but was quickly reassured that he was safe. Usa let out a nervous chuckle as he bent over to rest his hands on his knees. "You sure are an energetic one aren't you". He quickly gave the Pokemon a kind smile. With his gaze still fixed on the Pokemon, he followed up the stranger's concern with question: "New move? Which move is that?" His eyes widened and shimmered with curiosity.

what we know is almost nothing at all
It seemed like wherever Kristmar went, his gible always appeared to attract some sort of attention when he was out. Not that he minded, of course. Having his pokémon noticed and appreciated was the best way to pick up a coordinator with a slightly inflated ego's mood. Kris smiled widely, now even a little more willing to give this passing stranger a hand.
"A place to stay... hmm..." He paused for a moment to think. "It's getting pretty late so your best bet would be the pokécenter of this town. It's near where the route leads into the town... you must've just missed it."
And... as for not trading his gible for the world... this Usa boy was bang on. Kris could complain all he liked but that would remain an unchangeable truth. His wide grin softened and he hastily glanced away, so not to make eye contact with the other blonde, and gave a rough, slightly embarrassed jerk of his shoulders. "He's my starter. I wouldn't be able to."
Kris remembered the day he received his starter a couple of towns back, it hadn't been too long ago anyway. His surprise on actually getting a dragon was incredible and it'd woken that boyish appreciation he'd had for the type since he'd been a child. Dragons weren't his first choice when it came to typing, preferring grass and poison types for coordinating, but dragons... were dragons?
"Gib!" Deimos yipped up at the other trainer, his whole squat body wiggling from side to side as he wagged his tail with a doglike enthusiasm. He went back to sniffing the boy's trousers and gave the hem a tentative nibble.
Usa's curiosity was easily observed, it was so open and innocent that Kris couldn't help but give a soft chuckle while reaching into his breast pocket with his fingers. He pulled out a fire-type TM, easily recognized by its shade of burnt orange. "Yeah. Fire Blast. It's one of the technical machines I'm selling uses of and I figured to test it out myself first but..." he gave another light sigh, amusement still visible on his features. "It's a strong move. We need a lot of practise before we take on the gym with it."
Usa gazed upon the trainer in awe. A TM was something he had never seen before. Always read about them, but never seen them in person. "Fire Blast" he repeated as he ran his fingers along his pant and reached into his back pocket. "...and you're selling lessons to trainers?" His eyes were lit with excitement, though his voice remained calm. A slow grin began to form on his face as he pulled out his wallet. "An attack like that would definitely come in handy for Leo and I".
Though he prided himself on being able to stay calm and level headed in most situations, in moments where he was truly happy, excited or surprised, his true self shined brightly. He turned to look at the trainer's Gible. "Gible knows a powerful move like Fire Blast!?"He returned his gaze to the trainer. "You taught your Pokemon such a powerful move!?" You're amazing! He looked around to see if there were others in the vicinity to witness his complete fan-moment. No one? That's a relief. "Please teach my Pokemon Fire Blast".

what we know is almost nothing at all
Eager and enthusiastic, the boy had a childlike cuteness with how wide-eyed and innocent he was. Kristmar hummed throatily in answer to his question whether he taught the technical machines he had or not and dropped his eyes to Usa as he began to pull his wallet out, already suspecting what he'd request.
"Sure," he chimed back, flipping the disc over in his fingers, letting it glint faintly in the fading light, curious to see what pokémon Usa would even want to teach such a powerful move. "For you I'll leave it a bit cheaper than usual... two pokédollars seem alright for you?" Only because the boy was practically fawning over his pokémon and pretty much stroking his ego. For that, Kris wouldn't mind giving the child a hefty discount, leaving it three dollars cheaper than what he normally charged. The kid struck him as rather new to all this and it didn't hurt to help a teen out, right?
Kris kicked his legs about underneath him and fanned himself with the disc, his smile ebbing down to a gentle and comfortable smirk. "I've got more TMs if, in the future, you're interested but you'll have to pay full for them." His carmine eyes narrowed playfully and he tilted his head. "Contest pokémon don't maintain themselves."
Without realizing it, Usa's smile had morphed into a huge grin. His legs began to tremble with excitement as he immediately began counting, in his head, all the Pokemon his team could handle now that Fire Blast was added to the roster of attacks his Pokemon knew. He even raised his fist as a gesture of achievement when he realized that he could now fend off wild Skarmories.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you..." he yelled with glee, "You're the best". He quickly called out Leonidas, his Absol. The Pokemon peered up at his trainer with a surprised expression. Leonidas had never seen Usa that excited. Almost instinctively, however, the Pokemon body language quickly shifted to match his trainer's.
"Please teach your TM to my Absol", Usa requested as he reached down to pat Leonidas on the head. The Pokemon let out a loud roar in an attempt to mimic his trainer's request.Usa then reached into his wallet and pulled out 2pd. With his arm and the money stretched towards Kris, he yelled "thank you" once more.

what we know is almost nothing at all
This was the second absol he'd seen in a very short period of time but it didn't lessen the slight awe he felt on seeing another one up close. Funnily enough, he'd taught the exact same move to the other absol. With the same smirk still curving his lips, drinking up this boy's pep and attention, he waved him off dismissively after taking the two pokédollars handed to him.
"It's no trouble at all," he told the younger blonde, watching as the absol apparently seemed to mirror some of his trainer's energy. Deimos was enthralled by the new pokémon in their midst. The dragon stepped closer, making snuffing and grunting noises as he smelt the creature's scent, and eyed the silky... beard. Tasty silky beard.
But, before the gible could get close enough for a nibble, Kris already spotted his intentions and pushed the land shark back.
"Move over, Dei, I need a little room here," he muttered to the dragon with a sharp look in his eyes as he shifted closer to the absol. It wasn't necessarily the fact that he needed room but... more so that Kris was always a little wary to how pokémon that weren't his would take to being taught a move in such an unnatural way. Once Deimos had reluctantly retreated a few steps with the largest doe eyes he could muster, Kris turned back to Usa and the absol, the technical machine at the ready.
"Right, I'll start now," he petted the pokémon's shoulder before pressing the disc against it. "Tell me if he gets a little iffy or distressed."
Usa watched with widened eyes as Kris began the process of tutoring Leonidas. His lips slowly curled as he braced himself for something amazing. What now? A bright light? Sparkles? FLAMES? The anticipation ate away at him. He could feel his knees trembling from the excitement, but he made no attempts to control them. He was happy, after all, for his trusted starter was getting stronger.
Upon Kris' request to monitor Leonidas, he leaned in closer so that he could notice any faint movement the Pokemon made. Usa's eyes sparkled as the anticipation and excitement caused his mind to race with happy thoughts once more.

what we know is almost nothing at all
It was almost like Kris was going to have to worry more about the pokémon's trainer rather than the actual pokémon. The boy looked so excited that he was going to pop or something. "Actually, are you alright there?" The blonde chuckled softly, his fingers holding tighter onto the disc as it began to vibrate and thrum, its spinning speeding up. He laughed but the knowledge that he was making someone's evening with such a simple gesture did inspire a pleasant feeling within him.
Just before the technical machine began to click, signalling that the process was finished, he gave the absol's beautiful alabaster coat a couple last strokes. With slight reluctance, he withdrew his hands and turned to Usa with another smile.
"And that's it!" He grinned and slipped the warm disc into his satchel, reaching over to scratch his gible on his snout. "You'll have to practice the move a few times before he gets a good hang of it but your absol should know Fire Blast now."
"I'm fine", Usa replied softly, "Don't worry about me". He quickly realized that he was making a fool of himself by acting so hyper. This made his face turn red from embarrassment. I suck. "Don't have to worry about me at all" he reiterated, "not one bit". This was his way of calming himself down. He dropped his hands to his side and relaxed his shoulders. Taking a deep breath, he adjusted his stance to make his body more upright. This made him appear more poised.
He tugged on the ends of his jacket as he flashed Kris a smile, waiting for the tutoring to be complete. Upon the coordinators announcement, Usa bursted into another round of "thank you's". He launched himself forward to shake Kris' hand, but stopped half way to congratulate his Pokemon first. He lowed himself to give Leonidas a hug. The Pokemon responded with a jolly roar. Usa's face was gleaming with excitement. Thought he wasn't as elated in disposition as he was a few second prior, his eyes still showed how very grateful he was.
ooC: Thanks machine! I will go post the pd transfer in the trade centre right now! Also, should we make next set of posts or lasts, so that we can move on to the 3v3?

what we know is almost nothing at all
Once the trainer lavished his pokémon with praise, Kris readily accepted Usa's grateful handshake, letting the boy's contagious pep infect him a little. If only a couple of the trainers he'd taught moves were this grateful, them seeing it as merely a transaction rather than displaying the pure excitement that this person showed.
"Don't mention it," he hummed, smiling wide enough to cause the corners of his crimson eyes to crinkle. "I hope you turn the tables in some of your future battles with this move."
Kristmar's eyes momentarily flickered to the overhead streetlights as they flickered on, bathing the street in a yellow-tinged light. Dusk was quickly transitioning into night without giving him time to notice. It wasn't dangerous, per se, to be out at night but Usa had already mentioned that he had yet to find the pokécenter or a place to stay. It'd only be best for the boy if he didn't leave finding lodges too late. He gave the kid a friendly pat on his upper arm before scooping up his satchel carefully, seeing as it also contained a charmander egg he was holding for a future buyer.
"It's getting late though, y'know," he told his fellow blonde, "want me to walk you to the pokécenter? It's not far from here and it's on my way anyway."
· Usa Keji · lets go for 8 posts (one more each) and then start the 3v3 :3
Usa's eyes quickly turned to the sky. In his excitement, the fact that it was now nighttime had gone unnoticed. Returning his attention to Kris, he nodded. "Yes, and thank you". He looked over at Leonidas and gave the Pokemon a smile. Leonidas returned an equally bright grin.
This was certainly an eventful evening - one that Usa would not soon forget. He cleared his throat and then stood upright. In a gentle but clear voice he said to the older gentleman: "Please, lead the way".
