hello calamity! we're nearing the two months mark in a few weeks. how time flies! right now we have two things going on that need your participation. the first is an activity check! it is impotant that you check in so you don't lose your face claim. the second is the otm nomiations! we're doing it a bit different than last time. so please submit your nominations in. a vote thread will be up in the next few days. there will also be a formal event coming very soon, so keep your eye out for that. keep being cool!
we're currently about to host calamity's first contest in slatepor. trainers are flocking to the city to see, the city's been trying to get good pr since the gala, and it seems to be working! they're asking for both coordinators and volunteer judges to sign up.

[ PLATONIC ] Seth will be friends with literally anyone that is nice to him. That is the only requirement. He is a very social person and is looking to travel the region with someone--preferably multiple someones. If you're looking for the same kind of thing, Seth would be overjoyed to go through the routes with you. He's new here and just left a whole bunch of friends back home, so a best friend is definitely in order.
[ ADVERSARIAL ] If Seth doesn't like someone, he will avoid them. He would be very interested in a relationship with someone that challenges him, however. Well, he might not be, but I am. A battle partner--a rival. Someone that would try to toughen him up is very welcome as well. This little flower is painfully naive, and quite childish. Very abusable qualities. He needs to grow and become more responsible, but there's also the opportunity for him to turn harsh and cynical if you really try.
[ ROMANTIC ] He's had one or two dating relationships in the past, but it's not like they got very far. This boy gets crushes very easily, and will likely get crushed by them. Seth would be the very best boyfriend he could, but expect him to be anxious at every little new thing and amazingly easily embarrassed.
(cough cough gay cough)
[ OTHER ] Seth wants to meet literally every kind of Pokemon there is. His ultimate goal isn't to beat the Elite 4, but he regards that as a large milestone in his goal. Helping him on this journey, even by just showing him new Pokemon, would get you quite far with him. A mentor would probably be pretty good for him, too. He's young and naive and new to Hoenn. Show him the ropes, help him grow. All that good stuff.

[ONE SIDED CRUSH/FRIENDS] soooo i was thinking that emma would have possibly a one-sided crush on seth because he's gay and everything LOL. she's like eleven so it'd be a puppy dog crush. she'd look up to him a lot bc he's a trainer and he's cool and mysterious and he also looks cute. but uh yah if u have any other ideas for the future hit me up.

[ CRUSHES ] Seth would have no idea how to handle a young girl's crush on him. Like what does he tell her? 'I don't swing that way'? 'I'm too old for you'? He would positively die of awkwardness.
[ FRIENDS ] After they get over the crushing, if she still wants to hang around him, Seth could be buddies with her, I suppose. He probably doesn't have any more skill with Pokemon than she does, so mentoring would be awkward, if even possible. He would be happy to have the company anyway (so long as it isn't too awkward to be around her, otherwise he'll avoid her like the plague).
[ FRIENDS ] I think Seth and Usa would be an interesting dynamic. Despite his tendency to be blunt and a bit "big-brothery", Usa has a kind heart. He has a deep love for Pokemon, and cherishes his friends - thought his brother has been his closest friend up until this point.
[ ADVERSARIAL ] Also interesting would be the dynamic between Seth and Usa's brother, who travels with Usa. Despite them being twins, their personalities are very different.
[ROMANTIC] Up until this point, Usa hasn't really thought about his sexuality. So, this would also be a interesting plot development.

[ BUDDIES ] They would definitely bond over Pokemon! Just be like "ooh! what do you have?" Catch new ones together and jazz. If Usa's brother were to tag along all the time and not get along with Seth, the animosity would kind of be forced to happen. So Seth would either need to deal with or he would wind up avoiding both of them--dangerous risk since he prefers avoidance. As for the romantic side, Seth could definitely crush on Usa. What happens after that would totally depend on Usa's reactions to his clumsy advances.

[ I FORGOT TO ADD IN ] Though Seth might be initially taken aback by any bluntness, he would, in the long run, appreciate the honesty. It's not something he would look at as a negative trait, just something he would need to get used to at most.
[ RIVALS ] Zara is "nice," so the two of them wouldn't have an issue being friends. However, she's a bit loud and abrasive and competitive, so the two of them I think would work really well as rivals! He's four years younger than her, but the way Zara acts, you might not know it. I could see the two of them butting heads and trying to one-up the other. And they've both just started! lemme know what you think~

[ RIVALS ] I am so down for this! She just shows up every so often to harass him. Always like one city or one route ahead so she's just waiting to come and battle him. It would be so fun to battle every now and then and see how they grow, and maybe even pick Pokemon and moves that would wok well against the others'. If you're interested you can make a thread! I haven't gotten him out of Route 101 yet, but he'll be in Oldale soon enough.
[ RIVALS ] Sounds perfect! She does love harassing people, even if she doesn't realise that's what's happening... Zara is just about out of route 101, so I can make a thread in Oldale when I'm there and you can join whenever you're finished in the route~
