'Wow...this place is really nice.' Standing in the high ballroom overlooking Slateport City's coast, Sylvester walked past the entrance after being greeted by the man at the door. With just him and his Pokemon in attendance for now, he slipped his gifted mask on and couldn't have felt more awkward about it. 'Do we really have to where these masks?' While it helped hide his identity ever so slightly, it didn't help the trainer from feeling so weird about it.
Yet here Sylvester was, adorned in a tailored all-black suit and tie. After all, black was the new black...wasn't it? Either way, his Sylveon mask was worn over his face, waiting for the others to arrive as he pet the soft alabaster coat of his pokemon. "Well, I hope they don't keep us waiting for too long. Right Marley?" A soft bark was all Marley spared to concur with his trainer.
Who could like better than Risu himself, when he was told he had to have a mask on he would match his partner in crime Toki. This Scyther was out of its Pokeball and honestly speaking Toki was on his best behavior. He muffled around and waited for his brother. Well he would catch up eventually he was the one in a hurry to get on the boat. Risu was more than happy to speed off of that boat as quickly as possible.
Risu had adorned his blue blazer jacket and wore it over his sweater vest with a red tie. It was very clear that Risu wasn't one to wear matching colors for his choice. A green mask, green vest, red tie, and a blue blazer? Someone clearly didn't teach him fashion but he was happy with being himself at the age of fifteen. "Yeah buddy we are gonna be the life of the party! He looked at Toki who simply raised his scythes above his head.
This place seemed like a high society kind of deal, he saw people walking around with what he was most excited for the free food. He considered giving each butler and waitress a bad nickname but that would be rude. He was curious on where the delicious food known as 'dating' was. Until then he continued walking forward wagging one finger almost like he was some old man from the fifties.
The formal thing was a scene entirely new to the young woman. The mail she had received via her pokeNav was mysterious and suspicious but her aspiring wishes to experience everything triumphed over any line of caution she would normally have. The only problem was that there was a strict dress code. The reality of it was that Syndra was essentially dirt poor and obsessing over this problem for almost an entire week. Her pokemon kept looking at her like she was crazy and there were no odd jobs she could do that would take her for only a week. So with what little the female managed to scrape along in funds she had enough for one outfit.
A Halloween outfit.
Now the female bought it out of what she felt was necessity. Granted she wouldn't have enough money for food or supplies for a few weeks but Syndra reasoned that the formal would be like their vacation. The overly exaggerated princess dress was relatively nice for the low price that Syndra paid for it although it did have its downfalls. With much modification the girl finally deemed it worthy of being worn to a formal gathering. Upon wearing it however she felt like it truly was a halloween costume as she felt more like a fairy than a princess. The outward appearance was perfectly acceptable on the other hand. Her hair was also worn down all the way with no ribbon to tie it up to keep appearances though she did add a hair pin to seal her look
Unfortunately only one pokemon could be out and about during the ball. While she felt inclined to bring her first pokemon along, the grotle both showed no interest and was a bad choice due to size. Spheal ended up being the one that agreed to go to the formal with his trainer and so with what was supposed to be the sash for the outfit was made into a little makeshift bowtie for the water type. Making it to the ball was actually an exciting journey for the girl as she took her steps toward the large building. Her eyes illuminated like the stars of the night sky as she was greeted by the host and ushered into the room.
Laid out were a few masks as well and without thinking the girl snatched up the closest one that looked feminine enough for her dress. The dragonair mask had an elegant and regal appearance to it so she hoped that would draw attention away from what her dress was actually supposed to be. Slipping it on, the mask covered only the upper portion of her face, but that was all that was really necessary. She looked about to see if everything was as extravagant as she imagined it to be. It was and so much more. Her little spheal gave off a cute coo as he saw his trainers excitement.
Usa walked in dressed in a tux he had bought just for the occasion. His hair nicely combed and his posture upright, he walked with confidence towards the centre of the room. He surveyed the area to see who was already there, but couldn't help being preoccupied by how luxurious the building was. Fancy...he thought as he took stock of where everything in the room was.
He had not put his mask on yet. Realizing this, he reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a thin white item that was decorated to look like an Absol. A single dark-grey crescent horn pointed upward on the right side, and a white crescent shape pointed in the opposite direction on the left side. The mask was adorned with silver glitter that shimmered under the light of the room.
Heh, now Leonidas and I match...he thought. Why that amused him so, was beyond even his understanding. The night was young, and he was raring to mix and mingle with every and anyone.
Bunny entered the gala feeling more at home than she had the entirety she had been in Hoenn. Formals were relatively abundant in Kalos, especially in Lumiose — so this was about as close to home as she could get. Her dress was a designer gown from the most prestigious boutique in Lumiose, something her parents had bought her not over a year ago, and her mask was that of a Buneary's — something she thought was pretty cute to coincide with her name. It had one fluffy ear extended and the other bunched up like a poofy spring, the mask only covering half of her face. Bunny had spent, surprisingly, less time on her hair than usual, letting her long locks fly free and without the constraint of her double buns. She passed by the table of masks without so much as a second glance. Maybe she had come slightly too prepared?
Diana was beside her, a light pink bow wrapped around her neck to match her trainer. The two of them stepped into the gala and gazed at the wide array of people gathered. They'd recognize somebody here, right? Like, she wasn't the only one that she knew that got the invitation?
The pokémon and girl looked at each other, and then at the crowd. Bunny found herself less anxious than she would usually be in this situation. Partly because of the mask, she guessed, but probably mostly because of how it reminded her of home.

Dylan stared the entrance of the ballroom. "This takes me back to my higschool years, I remember prom. . . ahh that was fun. . ." He lied to himself quietly, he didn't really want to enter alone it seemed a bit sad if he did go in alone. "Maybe I should wait for someone to walk in with, Boy I wish William was here. . ." He added and looked to the Riolu who sat on his shoulder wearing the same exact suit as he was, except it was a tiny version that fit him perfect. "You look so cute little guy, You're going to kill it with the ladies in there I just know it!" He said and smiled and Riolu nodded happily. "Riii-rii!"
Together the two waited outside for the ballroom doors to open, silently hoping someone would talk to him till a small thought popped into Dylan's head. "What if Fiona is here!" He whispered to his Riolu with a red face. "Can you imagine her in a beautiful dress with her strawberry blonde hair?!" He added, the thought of her made him blush instantly. "Oh, I do hope she's here. . ." He looked around to spot the fellow Magma Grunt, but no one was there. He adjusted the mask that matched the fur around Riolu's eyes and let out a sigh. "I really do hope she's here."
andrea grinned wickedly, strolling into the refined structure with natural swagger. her black gown appeared quite simple. but it hugged her waist, and revealed the upper portion of her cleavage - dedicated to the simple task of drawing ones gaze to her attractive figure. in all honesty, it was uncomfortable as fuck. and the heels didn't help, either. but, andrea suffered through the discomfort because holy shit she looked good.
the coordinator's hair had been fashioned into a short pony tail, her natural red highlight, coupled by a few dark strands allowed to fall over her forehead. there was a subtle messiness to the whole thing, but she made it work surprisingly well.
"bunny!"
as soon as the young woman caught sight of her princess, her smile only widened. andrea swooped in to wrap her arm possessively around the girl's waist and pull her in closer.
"princess, i missed ya."
she teased the girl with kisses meant to be pressed against her face. her perfume smelled strongly of wild flowers, and her lips were glossed over with a natural formula meant to moisten.
"sniv?"
the snivy looked on at the display and tilted his head. he wore a small black and white tuxedo and a snazzy bow tie which he adjusted constantly.
Bunny turned at the sound of her name being called, grinning widely as she recognized Andrea. The other coordinator looped her arm around Bunny's waist, planting wet kisses all over what parts of her face were visible. Suddenly Bunny was quite glad she was wearing a mask, as otherwise Andrea would have seen the massive blush plastering her cheeks because of just how close their mouths were.
"Andrea!" she said as quickly as she found her breath, planting a kiss on the other girl's cheek, "I'm so glad you're here, I'm gonna need somebody to socialize with." Bunny found herself relishing the smell of Andrea's perfume. It reminded her of the Kalos' many flower fields. Meanwhile she had opted for something less noticeable, more of a light citrus-y pomegranate that you'd have to probably be right up against her to even notice.
It was then, while staring into Andrea's bright blue eyes, did she notice that the girl hadn't picked out a mask.
"Oh!" Bunny exclaimed, giggling a little and grabbing Andrea's hand lightly, "You have to pick a mask!" she lead the coordinator to the table of masks, where they were all lined up. Bunny stared at them for a good couple of moments before finding the one she thought was perfect for her.
Bunny raised the Zoroark-themed mask up for Andrea to see. It only covered half of a face, but ended with a point. It seemed to have long ears on the side that would wrap around a person's face, and red rims around the triangular-cut eye holes. She held it up against Andrea's face and lightly brushed her hair over it, the red highlight mimicking that of a Zoroark's mane. "Pretty fitting, don'tcha think?"

'Be our guest, be our guest, put our service to the test...'[break][break]
Fidel walked, no, danced into the formal, humming to a tune from her childhood. She felt especially good today, not because of a victory, not because of a particular holiday. Well, she supposed it counted as a holiday; in her schedule, at least. Her orange sundress and her sunflower-themed mask bounced as she nearly skipped into the summer gala. For what reason?[break][break]
Food! Glorious food! She's always wanted to try out food from other regions, among the infinite other things to do on her 'why my life goal is to adventure' bucket list. Kalos, Unova, Sinnoh... Even more obscure areas, like the sandy Orre or the battling paradise known as Poketopia! Food! She wanted to try out so much food![break][break]
Magikarp flopped behind her, accidentally getting on a few leather shoes on the way. Everyone was required to bring out a Pokemon, so... Magikarp seemed like the right choice. She bathed Magikarp, dried Magikarp off and everything, but she only hoped her fish didn't make too much of a mess. Looking at the floor behind her, it flopped once, almost as if reassuring her.[break][break]
Now! Food! Fidel sauntered off to find the buffet. Maybe she should sit at a table... or, was it an open buffet? Maybe not, seeing how people were taking seats at tables. Or... eh, whatever. She'd just find the nearest waiter and ask! Her and Magikarp bounced in tandem with each other in search for only the most divine of food.

And not just regular hot, no, but flaming hot. Sticky hot. The hot you only feel when you're either on stage in something risque or you're parading in front of the cutest guy from the bar in your best lingerie.
Briley smirked. Her Arcanine mask covered only half her face, portraying just how fiery she felt on the inside. Her dress was bright red with no straps, the sweetheart neckline dipping deep into her bosom and revealing just enough skin. A delicate, thick necklace of diamonds hung around her neck, basically pointing at her well-endowed chest to bring attention to it. The dress cinched tightly at Briley's waist and hugged her hips, a slit riding up to nearly the top of her thigh and allowing her silver heels to shine through.
Her hair had been styled with nearly professional care, curled here or there and free from it's normal ponytail. Earrings dangled lightly from her earlobes, nearly touching her shoulders. Damn, she was hot.
Sexy, that is.
Shepherd scuttled along beside her, a small black bowtie on his tiny neck. He looked rather dapper, if Briley did say so herself. And, to be honest, he was probably her best possible choice for this event. Maggie would have been making a mess with all her pranks, and Fauna would be staring and making everyone uncomfortable. Shepherd was kind of like a bug, but at least he had a sense of formality.
"Let's see how many cuties' numbers we can get," Briley winked at her pokémon, who rolled his eyes.
"Aaand...I'm a Natu now, or Natu Man now whatever." Sam said as he placed the Natu like mask he acquired for the formal onto his face. After all if he absolutely had to wear a mask for this thing, than he might as well match with the pokemon he was bringing.
Aside from the mask Sam would for once replace his normal clothing with a black tuxedo, with a little black bow tie. Feeling a bit...naked without it Sam would grab a black version of his typical hat on his way out the door, placing it firmly onto his head
Where his Natu who had been hovering around at the time would soon perch, Natu preferring the hat to accidentally digging her talons into Sam's head. Which in all honestly Sam easily preferred as well.
Not wanting to be too late to this formal thing Sam would head straight there from the inn he was staying at. Not making any notable stops along the way to where the formal was held. With a slight nod of his head at the host who greeted him at the door he'd head on right inside.
"Lets see.." Sam muttered out aloud, fixing the Natu mask on his face while he looked around the Gala, not really recognizing anyone because well...everyone had masks on. With a simple halfhearted shrug the boy would just keep on walking then. Heading right for the place that he'd be able to find something to eat or drink then.
it seemed like everyone was talking about this formal event in slateport. he originally wasn't going to go, but he figured, what the heck? he could turn off his rebel side for once and just enjoy the event. free booze as well. he needed to get dressed up though, which was unfortunate.
ceddy was inexperienced with formal events. he normally didn't go to them as he doesn't like the idea of dressing up. luckily his partner knew a thing a two about formal events. she even picked out a suit for him. a nice suit, he'll admit. black suit, white shirt, black tie. simple, sure.
fine, he wasn't going to lie. he does feel a little bit good about being dressed up. he had on a rapidash mask. he made sure his partner got dressed up too, with a simple bowtie around the neck of the ponyta. his flames burned bright, illuminating the way as they made their way into the ballroom.
oh, look. a familiar face. he picked up a glass of champagne off of a tray a stray waitress was carrying. he took a sip as he made her way over to her.
Briley turned and grinned as she eyed her partner. She looked him up and down, feeling proud of herself (and mildly aroused.)
"Damn straight," she mumbled to Cedric, waving the waiter with the champagne to come over. She took a glass herself, tapping it's rim against Cedric's in a sort of toast. "And you look handsome as fuck, if I do say so myself." Briley shot him a wink before taking a large-ish sip of her drink. "Remind me to teach you how to undress later."
Briley leaned over and pecked Cedric's cheek before taking his hand in hers, walking down to the main ballroom and off to the side somewhere to chat. She looked at all the dancing couples, and then back to Cedric. She began to wonder idly.
ceddy is the king of compliments. you look nice. what a stud he was. okay, not really. he was shit at compliments because he just didn't know how to give them. briley knew how to. and he appreciated that.
"i'll toast to that," he snickered. he took a sip of his drink before nearly spitting it out after her flirtatious comment. he coughed and cleared his throat, trying to regain his composure. "s-sure."
too flirty. he turned away and rubbed the spot where she pecked him, feeling a bit embarrassed. "ew stop," he retorted. he happily let her guide him over to the side of the room.
his eyes followed hers as she looked at the dancing couples in the middle of the ballroom. ew, he knew where this was going.
"no and i will never."
but he already knew she was going to ask him to dance. and possibly embarrass him even more.
