Nacho was a funny guy, so Alex was beginning to notice; he didn't talk a great deal and was pretty reserved, but he had a grin as devious as the devil's. Most of the time, he seemed pretty content just watching what his new trainer was getting up to while chewing on the end of one of his leaves. Whenever their eyes met, the panda would beam impishly at him, and occasionally - very occasionally - he'd give a quiet little chatter of his name though. Alex wondered if his quiet demeanour was due to the fact that he didn't really have any other pokémon to socialize with... [break][break] And, well, if it were that, Alex was damn well gonna fix it. Poor guy, you couldn't blame a fella for wanting some company of his own species who he could actually converse with. [break][break] So here the odd pair were, traipsing through the tall grass just on the outskirts of Littleroot looking for... whatever, really. Alex wasn't a picky guy. A companion or two for Nacho would be neat and, as a breeder, it was in his interests to increase the amount of pokémon in his possession (which was currently at the grand total of one). Upbeat and in good spirits, Alex gently jostled the pancham sat on his shoulders, holding onto the fighting type's legs to keep him sat secure. [break][break] "All a'right up there?" The young man asked the quiet pancham. "Keep yer eyes open and tell me if y'see 'owt."
hey! that pancham looked like it was having fun. no one was allowed to have fun in this machop's neighbourhood. he popped out from some tall grass and leered at the pancham. what an ugly pokemon.

It was safe to say that Alexander was pretty surprised when a machop - a small fighting type - suddenly stepped in their path, staring them both down intensely. The pancham's small paws gripped his trainer's hair in anticipation as he was leered at and returned it with one of his own. Alex tilted his head at the humanlike pokémon and felt a little smirk tug on the corner of his lips. [break][break] "Ey, look here, Nacho," he said, amusement colouring his words as he patted his pancham's tensed leg. "A machop's popped out to say 'ello." [break][break] The pancham, however, didn't share his amusement. The sharp leering was making him bristle and he stopped chewing on the end of his leaf, concentrating his glower on the other pokémon. He sensed vibes that weren't tranquil coming from the machop and his instincts told him to prepare for an encounter. He sat, rigid, on his trainer's shoulders and narrowed his eyes even more. [break][break] "S'up, fella? You're lookin' pretty moody." The smirk he wore grew across his lips, roguishly slanted. "After a fight?"

That pretty much answered Alex's question. No sooner had he asked it, this fucking little stick of dynamite went ahead an aimed a kick for his pancham, leaping up and everything, despite the pokémon being sat on his shoulders! Like, woah, Alex knew he was on the short side but c'mon, that was still an impressive jump to make. [break][break] "F-Fuck!" Alex uttered, ducking down on instinct on seeing the machop's foot come careening his way. Nacho raised his arms, prepared to take the hit, and was sent hurtling backwards and off his trainer's shoulders. The small pokémon rolled and jumped up to his feet, assuming a stance with his feet spread and shoulders tensed that made clear his eagerness to battle. Alex, still a little stunned and on his knees, blinked between the pair and... o-oh, oh, he wanted a fight then, did he? [break][break] "Get him back for that, Nacho!" He called, scrambling hurriedly back up to his feet and tentatively touching his styled hair. "Tackle that fighty bugger." [break][break] With a nod, the slightly scruffy looking pokémon charged towards the machop and bit down harder on his leaf. He'd get this machop for almost kicking his new trainer in the face!
machop laughed as his kicked almost hit the trainer. so close yet so far. maybe next time. but now he had to focus on the battle. pancham doesn't look too strong. but he couldn't underestimate him.

Nacho was a bit more prepared for the second low kick that the machop dealt. In a swift movement, the fighting-type leapt out of the way of the other pokémon's leg that'd been aiming for his own ankles and he landed a good few feet away with a determined expression. The machop would have to do a bit better than that, he thought to himself, if he wanted to get another hit on him. [break][break] "Good work, Nacho," his trainer praised, now firmly back on both feet. The pint-sized man brushed down the knees of his jeans as he kept his eyes glued to the battle at hand. "Now show 'im what you've got with a storm throw!" [break][break] Not wanting to waste much time, seeing as it wasn't in his best interests to let his opponent prepare to intercept or dodge the attack, the small pancham sprung into action once more. He lunged forward, taking the offensive, and threw out his paws for the machop. If he managed to catch him, surely this would teach him a thing or two about messing with his trainer. A small cry came from the panda, his chewed leaf falling from his mouth, and he swung his arms for the other small fighting pokémon.

Awesome. Alexander watched the machop go down after Nacho's attack with a triumphant glint in his honey-brown eyes. While he didn't want to jinx it, they honestly had yet to go wrong with that move belonging to the pancham. It was a pretty sweet attack he had, if he said so himself. Alex offered a thumb's up at the scruffy panda who looked back at his trainer, for approval, once his foe was down on the ground and they both shared a mutual grin. [break][break] "Nice one," he said, reaching for an empty pokéball. He sure as hell wasn't gonna leave the little firecracker after the good battle he'd put up. Alex would welcome that sorta fighting attitude in his team with open arms. He threw the ball towards the fainted pokémon and watched as it was sucked into it with a red flash of light. "Let's press on then." [break][break] The pancham, brushing off his fur as he wandered over to where his leaf had fallen during the battle, gave a nod in agreement. He placed it between his teeth and jogged over to his trainer so to continue on with their trek through the route.
a single tear dropped from his face as he watched the machop get captured. how could he let this happen? scraggy hopped out of some grass and pointed at the trainer and his pancham. how dare they!

Alex walked forward to scoop up the pokéball that lay - still and warm - on the grass, the grin not sliding from his face for an instant. This machop would make a great addition to his team once he settled down and warmed up to them. He shrank the pokéball so it fit snugly in the palm of his hand and promptly stuffed it in his pocket. Right. Time to press on. [break][break] "C'mon, Nacho, let's keep movin'," he called back to his pancham and started striding forward with a confident swagger to his gait. He glanced over his shoulder when he didn't hear the telltale rustling of his pancham's short legs traipsing through the grass and... ah. He immediately saw why. [break][break] He must've missed it, but it appeared as though a wild scraggy had decided to make an appearance and it looked... rather upset, to tell the truth, despite the intense leer it was giving Nacho. In turn, Alex's pokémon leered back at it and seemingly refused to waver under the other's glowering. "...hn?" He turned around and started making his way back over. "What's up, lil' fella? Y'don't look too peachy."
if the scraggy could flip the trainer off he would. but instead he resorted to battling his pokemon instead. teach him a lesson to not mess with his friends.
