Reddish-pink eyes watched with mild amusement as the filly pranced around in the grass, going from a walk to a full cancer in a matter of seconds before rolling herself on the ground. The ponyta was only too happy to be let out of her pokeball at long last and was letting the world know of her pleasure. Letting the grass beneath her hooves be torn apart by her speed and feeling its soft but durable texture on her body. She was free of that blasted pokeball and her human trainer didn’t seem all that keen on sending her back in. It was a lovely thing and she came to adore the small male because of it. Speaking of her human trainer, she swirled in her cancer and shot for him. He didn’t blink as he grinned, watching her bolt for him at a full charge and it pleased her that he already trusted her so readily. In turn she happily slowed and pranced up to him, nibbling on his long locks of pinkish hair playfully and nuzzling his face with a sharp exhale.
Kohaku chuckled at the sweet filly’s games, stroking her nose lovingly as pinkish eyes roamed her body to make sure she was fine. Other than panting a bit from her playing the big girl seemed completely fine and he was content with that. He had never really owned a pokemon for himself, he’d shared one with his mother in Johto but…Scheherazade was his…just his. It made him swell with pride at the thought that this beautiful girl would belong to no one but him and she let out a soft breath as though she knew what he was thinking and agreed. Yawning lightly he playfully pushed her head away so he could get up and she pranced away, pawing at the ground as though telling him to hurry up and he chuckled once more. The people back home would probably be surprised by how much he was smiling and chuckling but then the people back home had made it a happen to constantly get on his bad side.
The red head brushed off those thoughts, deciding now wasn’t the time to dwell on them. He wasn’t home, in fact he was very far from home so it honestly didn’t matter anymore. So long as no one managed to get him pissed he didn’t see why he should walk around in a foul mood all the time. He didn’t like being in a foul mood anyway, he much rather joke around and have friends to tease…friends like the ones he’d had in high school. Huffing slightly and in the process blowing away a bang that was in his face, Kohaku got up and stretched properly. With a pleased sigh and a small ‘oof’ when Scherezade headbutted his chest lightly the young man began to walk away. Never noticing he’d dropped his wallet on the ground as he tried to keep track of the prancing ponyta that was invested in initiating a game of her own making.

Alright, they were finally back on track. [break][break] After a small delay, Alexander was eager to be be on his way again. Originally, he'd planned to be in Oldale already but, on his first attempt at leaving the starting town, he'd been approached and swiftly challenged in the same breath by a handsome-lookin' sorta fella. His pancham, Nacho, had managed to pull off the battle suprisingly despite being so novice - his egg move honestly being his saving grace - and the man had vanished again without so much of a farewell. Alex didn't even have a name to his face, just a lingering aftertaste of sweet victory which... wasn't much. Who knew; perhaps their paths would come to intersect one day in the future in the form of a rematch. [break][break] For now though, Alex's thoughts revolved around finally reaching the next town. He was in a little bit of a rush, see. There was talk about a festival about to go on and not just any kinda crappy festival, but one at the beach. Y'know what that meant, right? Yeah. Sunshine, sea water and skimpy clothing. Shirtless men and the possbility of speedos. Like he was going to miss that. [break][break] "Heard there'll be lots o'trainers about," he told his pancham who sat riding his shoulders. "Might get another battle, y'want that?" He was answered with eager, but silent, head bobbing and Alex grinned as he looked ahead, towards the path, once again. Their first battle together ending in a win had undoubtedly given their relationship a little jump start and he'd noticed, once he'd healed Nacho after it, the little guy had been much more at ease around him. [break][break] Up ahead, there was another trainer on the path with a ponyta frolicking around them. Both of them sporting vibrant manes - one cherry pink and the other fire - they really seemed to make one another to a tee, they both even had--- oh, what was that they'd just dropped? The petite individual didn't seem to notice the item that'd slipped out of their pocket and simply continued walking, leaving it behind. Alex sped up his gait a little. [break][break] It looked as though they'd dropped their wallet, he noticed, on drawing closer and he bent down to scoop it up. Nacho shifted about on his small trainer's shoulders in order to get a better look at the found item, expecting something a little... more interesting. Like a snack. But he was disappointed to see that it was just a cloth item, folded in two, with inedible nothings inside. [break][break] "Hey, nena, wait up." Alex called out to the slender figure who had continued walking. He held up the wallet for her to see and cupped his other hand near his mouth so his voice was carried over clearer. Nacho held a little tighter around his trainer's forehead, holding on as he was jostled. "Y'dropped y'purse... wallet... thing!"

“Zadie calm down just a little.” Kohaku murmured softly, watching as her ears popped forward upon catching them, swiveling towards him as the filly turned and butted him gently in apology. He chuckled softly, scratching her lightly behind the ear and getting a delighted sound for it. She pawed at the ground, dancing in the spot as she tossed her head and shook it causing her fiery mane to flare and flash in the sunlight. He was somewhat taller than her but that didn’t change the power she herself held in that tiny body and her mane told of it perfectly. She was his pride and joy, the horse-like pokemon dancing in place as she waited for him to catch up before she was nipping at him gently and bolting away again. He gave an exasperated little sigh and shook his head with a small chuckle, knowing she was just excited and not really blaming her for that. Being inside a pokeball for so long couldn’t be very comfortable and all that pent up energy she’d stored had to be let out.
Of course, in all the fuss of dealing with his overly happy filly he didn’t realize he’d dropped his wallet and he hadn’t really realized he was being called. He’d heard someone call out calling a ‘Nena’ a word he recognized enough to mean girl but hadn’t immediately registered it to him being addressed…at least not until Scheherazade protectively walked up to him and looked past his shoulder. Her stance a little more stiff and he immediately paused in his walk, breath caught in his throat as he felt irritation rise up because….Well fuck he should have known the old habbit of someone mistaking him for a girl was going to happen sooner or later here. He scowled darkly and brushed his long frontal bangs away from his face as he turned to face the person calling him.
He was a little smaller than him with a golden streak in his brown hair and a pancham on his shoulder. Kohaku noticed he was cute for a second before remembering what he’d been called by this stranger and for once he was glad he hadn’t worn his usual traditional attire. Instead a black shirt billowed around his slight frame, short gray shorts hugging his lower half and mid-calf boots adorning his feet. His tan bag hung precariously over his shoulder and the cap he usually wore with the outfit stuffed inside.
Kohaku gave the trainer one long look before he acted rashly, grabbing the edge of his shirt he yanked it up as he growled out. “I’m a boy, idiot.” His scowl darkened just a fraction before he wrenched his shirt back down and looked at the wallet in his hands, taking a few steps forward and glancing up into the guy’s face as he reached for it. “Thanks anyway.” Scheherazade stepped forward curiously, looking around her trainer’s body to see what it was before he shooed her away. “Look at what we almost lost because of an over excited filly.” The silly girl danced in place and pawed at the ground as though to show she was unrepentant and he rolled his eyes. Vibrant eyes fell back to the young man who’d picked up his wallet and softened a little more. He really should be used to people mistaking him for a girl…he supposed it was an honest mistake enough.
Sniffing in mock snobbishness he gave the other male a superior look from under his lashes. He really was cute whoever this guy was…he supposed it wouldn’t hurt to be nice. “I guess…since you did give me my wallet I can let the ‘nena’ comment slide.” A very slight quirk of his lips told of how amusing he found the whole situation in all honesty.

Oh... okay... well, um, wow. Definitely not the way he expected to be, uh... thanked? [break][break] Alexander stole a faltering step backwards when this person - male, not a female - just so unceremoniously flashed him. Alright, it wasn't the same, wasn't as inappropriate, as a lady flashing her rack at a stranger but, ha, it really wasn't like Alex was going to complain. He let his eyes unabashedly roam over the male's exposed chest before he broke out into a sly grin that gave him an air akin to that of a Cheshire cat after giving a low, appreciative whistle. [break][break] "Well, hello to you too." He chimed as the boy tugged his shirt back down - a shame - and stepped forward to reclaim his wallet. Alex's pancham, however, seemed wholly indifferent to this whole situation and continued sitting, uninterested, on his trainer's shoulders as he watched this scene transpire. He offered the prancing inquisitive filly a passing glance but not much else. [break][break] The slightly shorter one of the two rested a hand on his hip, looking him up and down with blatant boldness. Alright, he saw that his small mistake wasn't disastrous - the guy had quite a bit of an androgynous thing going on here with his delicate looks, soft jaw line and sleek-lookin' mane of fuschia hair - and, after that initial spike of irritation he showed, he didn't appear too bothered either. But the way his expression had darkened for a moment had been pretty fetching. [break][break] "You are very welcome," Alex said, closing his eyes for a moment and offering a theatrical flourish of his other hand as he dipped his head. "Although I might need s'more convincin' that you're actually a guy. Y'know. Y'could be a flat-chested lady for all I know." Nacho groaned. Alex grinned. He let his words linger in the air for a second before he tacked on a quick: "Nah, only jokin'. M'good with what I saw, nena."

Irritation at being called a female aside Kohaku wouldn’t deny that he liked the way the young man in front of him looked him over when he’d impulsively yanked his shirt up. At his appreciative whistle and obviously flirty greeting Kohaku kept the inward preening from his features, merely raising an eyebrow at the other. The amusement was visible in his gaze though as he allowed himself to take a better look at the other and tilt his head to the side just the slightest as he met the other male’s eyes again. The barest twitch of his lips showed that he hadn’t lost the amusement he felt at the others reaction to his rather rash action and his ponyta merely uttered a curious nicker of her name as she looked between the two. Kohaku glanced at her and ran a gentle hand down her side which she leaned in to before deciding grazing was more interesting than this.
His eyes turned back to the male in front of him just in time to see him place his hand on his hip and blatantly check him over. This time Kohaku didn’t keep the playful smile from his lips as his head dipped just the slightest and he looked at the other man through his lashes as he asked teasingly, “Seeing anything you like?” Ko would readily admit he had a dangerous temper at some times, his emotions sometimes erratic because of it but he was usually good at cooling it rather easily and honestly being mistaken for a girl wasn’t all that bad considering he knew it was an honest mistake most of the time. He knew his features were rather androgynous since he inherited a lot of his mother’s Japanese features. It usually left people guessing so it was one thing he could generally brush off after a moment of irritation.
Cute…
The word whispered through his mind lazily as he watched the other’s rather dramatic gesture. His lips curling into another amused smile before the brunette’s next words made him blink and he paused in surprise. That was certainly…forward. A slow smirk curled his lips as the thought ‘Refreshing’ past through his mind as well as the Pancham owner spoke up once more the ‘nena’ making a return. There was a momentary flare of irritation but instead of showing it he allowed a playful pout to pull his lips. “Really now I might have to actually convince you if you keep calling me that.” Another slow smirk curling his lips and he let his head cock to the side just the slightest as he murmured, “Really though, I don’t think I have the same equipment as a woman. At least I didn’t last time I checked...”
Chuckling softly, he brushed away the lock of hair at his temple, tucking it behind his ear delicately as he offered up a hand for a shake. “How rude of me, I’m Kohaku. Kohaku Lee-Yan.”

It wasn't often for Alex's, ah, forwardness to be unappreciated. In fact, there'd been many a time where his flirty comments or overly friendly greetings were received with disdain, indifference and, even on some occasions, mild offense. Not everyone liked someone who didn't often curb their tongue and didn't adhere to prudish social norms. So it was always welcomed when he found someone who at least humoured him. [break][break] "Keep callin' you what? Nena?" The smaller male raised an eyebrow and pursed his lips into a mischievous smirk. "The name might have t'stick now though." [break][break] A handshake? How formal. Especially after the other boy's unconventional way of greeting him which had literally been quite the, y'know, eye-opener. Alex made a small huffing noise, one of pure amusement, and swung his hand around to clasp at the offered hand. His fingers closed around the guy's, vaguely noticing how slim they were in his own, and shook his hand. He took advantage of their closer distance to get a good look at his face and - seriously - if he wasn't told and shown that he was a male... Alex would likely still have a hard time guessing anyway. Even the shape of his face - his jawline, cheekbones, the bridge of his nose - was delicate and feminine, and then with the head of long, cerise hair he had... c'mon, his slip-up was reasonable! [break][break] "Alexander Torres," he said in reply, releasing Kohaku's hand after a subtly lingering grip. "Just Alex is fine though." He ran the same hand through his hair gently, teasing his styled and choppily cut locks upwards. Nacho remained, as always, very uninterested to this whole situation. He'd only been with his new partner for a short while but... he'd already realized that the guy was rather exasperating for a human. He gave a little grumble under his breath and nibbled the leaf between his teeth. [break][break] "That's a nice ponyta y'got there," the brunette chimed, turning his focus to the small filly grazing a small distance away. "Cute starter... it-- ah, she's your starter, right?"
Oh he liked this guy, he liked him a lot. A soft breath of laughter escaped Kohaku’s lips as the other male spoke and a mischievous smile painted his features. Only his third day in Littleroot and he’d met someone who matched his personality pretty well and he wouldn’t feel uncomfortable flirting with. His eyes raked along the other’s figure and decided he wouldn’t mind doing a little more either…after he’s had his fun of course. Tilting his head just slightly a little more and allowing his eyelashes to fall partially he murmured playfully, “I really don’t think it suits me but suit yourself. Maybe I’ll get a chance to earn a new nickname in the future.” He brushed away a lock of rose-pink hair, his eyes never really leaving the slightly smaller males face as he did so.
An amused grin curled his delicate bow shaped lips at brunette’s amusement as he reached out to shake Kohaku’s extended hand. He could feel the other’s honey-brown eyes examining his features and he allowed it, used to people picking out the features that made him seem so feminine. He had always been told he was the spitting image of his mother although she tended to compare him to that man temper wise. His eyes flickered down to the lingering hold the brunette hand on his hands and he quirked an amused eyebrow at him, quipping playfully. “A picture might last a little longer.”
Alexander…Alex.
He liked it, it suited the other male. He blinked as he watched Alex’s hand travel through his hair and had to subtly look away. Clearing his throat softly and pulling at his shirt a little, suddenly feeling just a tad bit hot at the sight because…he might be a little weak to that little mannerism. Once he was sure he wasn’t about to make a fool of himself he nonchalantly glanced back at Alex with a little smile and he hummed thoughtfully. “Alex…” He spoke the word as though he was testing it along his tongue before a playful smile curled his lips. “I suppose it’s a pleasure to meet you then, Alexander.” His voice lilted slightly as he drew out the other’s name, his accent that usually only faintly colored his words becoming more apparent.
His cheery-pink eyes flickered up to the Pancham on his shoulders at its grumble and he chuckled softly, wondering if the poor thing found no humor in its trainer’s antics. However, his attention was stolen when Alex spoke up once again speaking about his ponyta. As though sensing she was being spoken about Zadie lifted her head from the grass she’d found and looked straight at them just as Kohaku met her eyes. A soft smile touched his lips and he nodded his head, “Yeah Scheherazade is my starter. Got her couple of days ago but…we’ve seemed to have bonded rather well.” The filly pawed at the ground for a moment as though to agree before dipping her head back to the grass at her feet, disinterested in what they had to speak about. He turned his eyes back to the Pancham and murmured, “That’s an impressive Pancham though, and he looks like he’s in great condition…”
Smiling coyly he murmured playfully as he looked back at Alexander, “…Just like his trainer.” He brushed his bangs back from his eyes, flicking one of his long locks behind him as he asked teasingly, “Is he your starter?”
