welcome to calamity! we are an au pokemon site based in hoenn. we do not have canons so you can pick them as your fcs! we have a short one hundred word word count. and you get to also pick your own starter! calamity is going to focus on providing users with a good and stable plot line to follow. this helps each character progress and some might even have a play in affecting the plot! we hope you enjoy your time here and if you have any questions don't be afraid to ask.
hey guys! we've finally hit our three month mark! let's stay strong. the activity check and gala have ended, if your character has been archived and you need them back please pm one of the admins! unfortunately, noods has steped down from his admin position. make sure you say your goodbyes here!

hello calamity! we're nearing the two months mark in a few weeks. how time flies! right now we have two things going on that need your participation. the first is an activity check! it is impotant that you check in so you don't lose your face claim. the second is the otm nomiations! we're doing it a bit different than last time. so please submit your nominations in. a vote thread will be up in the next few days. there will also be a formal event coming very soon, so keep your eye out for that. keep being cool!
we're currently about to host calamity's first contest in slatepor. trainers are flocking to the city to see, the city's been trying to get good pr since the gala, and it seems to be working! they're asking for both coordinators and volunteer judges to sign up.
CALAMITY is a roleplaying forum inspired by the popular franchise POKEMON, which does not belong to us. the skin was crafted by PHARAOH LEAP of GANGNAM STYLE. special thanks to SPIRAL for contributing ideas! all art on the forum does not belong to us unless stated otherwise, while all written works belong to the members who posted them. He'd thought it'd be a good idea, nothing to lose and that much more knowledge to gain. He'd never heard of caves by Petalburg, reckons they're a new discovery of sort. A tie in it seemed with the rest of the festival, it added to the mystery and wonder of the unexplored. So he thought he might as well join in, a day out with some strangers might be well worth the trouble. Who knows, adventure awaits.
Course, he never thought that he would end up in a group with Kipso of all people. The fatal flaw. Whatever type of fun he might have been planning to have may as well be crushed now that the little Aqua member had caught whiff of him. It wasn't like he could lash out at her in a group of strangers either. He knew none of the others, but that could change easily enough.
Resolutely, he keeps close to the Ranger, despite his Magma status. At least with the Ranger around, Kipso might be slightly deterred to her usual shit. "Is this place safe?" He asks out loud for the benefit of the group.
this group seem like very friendly people. however not everyone has showed up. no worries, they could catch up later. terry gestures for the group to move on.
the cave is cool and dank. they stop at the split path. both look equally daring, dim lights lining the sides of the cave. but the right is labelled 'B' while the left is labelled 'S'. terry has no idea what that means. he turns towards the people for a group vote.

Someone must be playing a trick on them, or at least cave tunnels shouldn't be named with letters. Something was definitely off. Definitely not safe. At least the group hasn't turned rowdy with unrest, the trip quiet and uncertain for now. There's not much indication to which might be better either, more like a fifty-fifty chance to fuck up or get lost.
He takes a peek through the tunnels, but the darkness hardly helps. So instead he releases Rush, a burst of light and flame as the Ponyta makes his entrance. His hooves clack against the floor, but proves to be a good light source. Either way the entrances look almost identical, with a few differences in between rock formation.

Stress is for the worry; those who overthink the compatibility of someone who does not belong. And as she keeps on going. Twinkle, twinkle, little star. Her scarf around her neck to keep her warm. In this heat? In this place? Wouldn't she die? Not really. Ai shifts uncomfortably in her shoes as she keeps on going. Jerome was tucked safely in his pokéball, despite the complaints from the pokémon.
She could have comfortably be in the pokémon centre; but making and starting a new would be preferable now, oui? A little out of it, the group went on ahead! Quickly, she catches up, a bit silent as she looks around. In awe.
Before comprehending anything, she notices how a rather tall blonde male let out a ponyta. It's pretty. She blinks a few times and shakes her head. No, not yet. Maybe she could help out later one when she's actually needed. Just a nod of her head was enough, right? "U-um...perhaps B would b-be safer too..." she's quiet on her reply.
"nice ponyta," he commented. terry laughed. oh how foolish were they. both of the paths were equally dangerous. he just hoped they would be ready.
the ground shifted as they walked. hmm, it wasn't quicksand. but it was still pretty sandy. then suddenly a hippowdon burst out of the ground. it swung sand everywhere. it was mad at something.
"h-hey, please help me calm down this hippowdown. it may be hurt."

A pokemon. A strong one at that. Elijah didn't think that they'd be able to take it down, and it seemed too angry to simply get out of the way. The blonde's first instinct is to run away find something else to distract it, look around for anything to use. But there's just a ton of rocks in every direction, not really helpful against an angry Hippowdon.
He releases Togekiss instead, the pokemon about as large as the other but not nearly as strong. "Praline uhh, like... Friendly, charm it." Would this even work? Well, he'd find out eventually. The Togekiss glides close, slow and unsure. It looked angry! Praline wasn't going to fly into its mouth. But he stops a short distance away, landing on the ground in pacifying gesture as he wiggles his wings about as if charm it.
the charm managed to calm the hippodon a bit. he looked at the togekiss with a confused look on his face. but then the pain came back and again he started yelling. he laid down and stuck right foot out. there was a sharp piece of rock stuck into his foot. maybe someone could pull it out?

She only watched from the distance, which was fine right? She didn't know which of the pokémon she has that would help the hippowdon. But, when it began to calm, she felt a bit of relief go through her right then. A bit nervous, you look at the pokémon and notice how there was a rock in the foot! A bit lost, she walks over and coos at the hippowdon, hopefully not to startle the poor creature as it already suffered enough.
"J-just stand still alright? A-and don't squish me," she said the last part softly under her breath as she then took out the piece of rock from the pokémon. That would do the trick right? She moved out of the way and look at the hippowdon, hopefully the creature would not sit on her.
he let the female trainer do her thing. and surprisingly it worked! the trainer managed to nudge out the rock stuck in his foot. and now he felt great. he nodded a thank you before burrowing back into the ground. bye bye.
"good job!" terry said. he led the group further into the cave before running into a wall. there was a riddle inscribed on it. he reads, "catch me and a pearl has a chance of being yours. no need for a stone. who am i?"
