Quickly after her arrival into the group she noticed that things were happening an as usually SH, didn't quite enjoy when things weren't happening in direct relation with her. She had to be more important obviously, and right now it felt wrong. Whatever.
As she walked she caught notice of Nat’a quick looks back at her and Leah parted her lips a bit and fixed an unruly strand of red hair, obviously flirting. It was a much different game with girls than it was with boys, an Natalie was pretty enough to be a player.
Soon she was walking comfortably beside Cass. That was thing about them- over the years they had learned how to and when to fuck around with the other, but also how to deal with the other an when not to screw around. The insults they were throwing around before sometimes felt like play pretend compared to the times they might have gotten into physical fights. Ah, her glory days as a Magma grunt.
In some way, they understood each other. But that didn't mean they had to like what thy understood. In short, it was complicated.
But as things began to unravel, Leah grew annoyed. Liam was obviously a bastard- the kind that was fun to play around with and all, but not the kind he imagined Cassandra to like. When she fully stated that Liam walked out on her she actually give Cassandra a sideways glance that implied, in simple terms, 'the hell?’
That was all the waning she gave before she shook her head disappointedly and said, in elegant retaliation to what had been said to her before, "Took that much to figure out you're a bastard, huh?" But it had no real venom behind it, and she said it with an all’s-well-that-ends-well smile.
At that point the bidoof appeared and Leah practically gagged.
"How can anything be so horrifyingly structured? I would pity it but it's beyond that point as well..."
She tsked and tossed out Rugosa again, the Budew shouting as it lifted its hands into the air.
"Sludge bomb. Poison it." Her time was crisp an unforgiving. Te Budew acted immediately, and Leah was left to wonder.
Rory and Cassandra, the two names that had been revealed, were obviously only the tip of the iceberg. Something was off, and one thing that a life of disobeying law and reason taught you was to trust your intuition.

cass looks at rory in mild panic, because he doesn't know that nat's also in magma. she digs her elbow into his side, but he's already said his name. now cass can only hope that they don't make the connection between the two leaders. chances are, one of them will and it'll cause uneeded problems.
"my name's cass, and this is rory." she says, clearing up any other confusion. they already looked suspicious enough. she smiles sheepishly and laughs, scratching her head. she just hopes that it doesn't bite her back again, "sorry for the confusion."
she blushes at the peck on her cheek, because she's never one for pda, but rory is. always the romantic. she waves it off with a flippant hand, "yeah yeah you're welcome."
the atomisphere's settled a bit more. everybody seems to be on good terms -- well, except for nat. it's strange, because leah's the one that seems to be a little friendlier now.
she turns her attention back to the less-then-exciting pokemon. what a joke. "okay snooki, use a tackle."

natalie's mad. not just at liam - bob, rory, whoever the fuck he is, she's stopped keeping track - but at cass as well. it almost feels like she's been betrayed, although the word choice might be a little harsh. she grits her teeth, tightens her grip on rory's shirt before she lets go. she doesn't have time for this, doesn't have the energy to invest into hating someone.
she should be happy for cass, even if it's a bit weird to see this strange relationship and having heard of it from rory back on route 101. she wants nothing more than to be alone right now. she backs off and tries to focus her attention on her beldum. their opponent becomes clear, and natalie's a little surprised. "take down!" she repeats. bert moves on the offense.
leah's company seems the best now. she's got plenty of venomous words, but she doesn't blame people for foul mouths. she does when they're lying scum.
the jab to his side came a bit too late. he's already said his name, and cass just confirmed it. he took the jab as a sign that he just made a huge mistake. he wondered who he needed to be careful of. nat or leah? for now he kept his eye on both of them. and he also kept his mouth shut. if word got out about this then it could end up badly.
the unknown pokemon from before revealed itself. a bidoof. cute but deadly, he thought. nah, not deadly at all. sting was doing fine just attacking. "again," he ordered. sting repeated the same attacks on the bidoof. the more he looked at it the cuter it got. so he kept his eyes away.
this little group is the only group to know about them. so he had to make sure no one would spill on them. nat was the one most angry. and possibly the one who could do the most damage.
"give me a sec," he whispered to cass, once more giving her a kiss on the head as he walked over to nat. his hands no longer in his pockets.
"nat," he said, "i'm sorry about lying to you. it was never my intention to hurt you."
The silence was comfortable, and Leah, while never exactly as calm as water, had dwindled down to little ember and for now was content with sketching as her Pokemon worked for her. An empress didn't quite need to lift much of a finger, and art was like embroidery. Something of a fallout happened, and Leah watched with a smirk and a raised eyebrow as Nat came forward, and they began walking in easy silence.
Silence that was only disrupted by the occasional side ways glances and suggestive looks- the end of the previous conversation was too early to have much else to say, and Nat was still fuming.
Leah sighed, looking at her fast-sketch of her Budew in motion- it looked little more than a blob and bluer as the sludge bomb. For full effect she’d need a painting. She flipped it closed and looked over Nat once again, before her pleasant thoughts were disrupted by another presence.
Leah sighed at the man, and spoke before Nat, possibly annoying the blonde, but hopefully annoying both the blondes.
"You sound like a kicked puppy asking for his master’s forgiveness," she commented. "If you have the gall to lie, at least don't do it when it's so obvious."
She smiled, wondering if the thinly laced hint that he was a whoreson carried trough, or if stereotypes would prevail and the blonde wouldn't get it. Her eyes locked with his, despite him being so much taller than her. Arrogance came easily, and annoyance even easier.
She then turned to Nat, have her a 'you can't be serious' look and said, "You can't possibly believe him? I mean, Cass just likes his type because that’s who she is, but..."
Her words about Cass weren't even said with the slightest malice. Instead she presented her thoughts as though they were the truth, which she believed they were. Somehow she was curious- what would the cute blonde say to the bad blonde?
Almost like it was happening at the metaphorical bar, and the whole ave was making a joke out of them.

Natalie lets the conversation stagnate until silence permeates the atmosphere. It's horrible and it feels like it's suffocating her like a noose around her neck, but she would rather deal with this than to deal with talking to that dolt. She doesn't remember the last time she was so utterly mad. Occasionally, she steals glances at Leah, wondering if she's already used to this sort of bullshit that it doesn't faze her any more. She's drawing - Nat notices, and she leans it for a small peek. It's kind of abstract. She's not much of an art appreciator, so she pulls her gaze away and says nothing in a bid to not offend the remaining tolerable person her, sans Deanna. (Sorry, Deanna)
She's a little on edge, the sea at its calm before the storm (or after? Natalie felt like she could go at him one more time). She says nothing to Rory, and lets Leah cut in front of her. She's glad she does, because Leah cuts him down with words so harsh she can't normally bring herself to say, and the redhead does it with twice the effectiveness that even Nat feels the sting. Ow. She speaks the truth, though, and Nat glares at Rory. What gall he has to apologise now thinking that she'll just let it go. She's surprisingly grudging, despite her otherwise kind demeanor.
"Don't worry, I don't," she says pointedly at Leah, directing the second part to Rory. "What was your intention, then?" she shoots with a glare that could kill. "What kind of game were you playing? I'm not some chump that you can play with in your game of lies."
She narrows her eyes, crosses her arms. "Just leave me alone," she snaps at Rory, not really keen on listening to him apologise to her. She's not letting this go that easily. She can't begin to imagine how many times he's done this to Cass... and now she feels a little bad for her boss. She deserves so much more than this scum.
the bidoof faints quickly. deanna focuses her flashlight on the distant sign. "don't goof with the...bidoof." she croaks. deanna faintly realizes that it's b, for bidoof. wow, how lame. the organizers couldn't think of any other pokemon to put? she beckons the group past. the entrance outside leads to the other side of the beach, near the city. she ignores the conversation behind her. this group is so chaotic, this job sucks. she's quick to lead them out. they've completed the exploration.
"thanks...i had fun." she lies, and with a final wave leaves them to finish their journey at the gift shop.
